I write sexy, page turning, romance. Whether you like alpha males that bite, or bad boys who make you shiver, i've got you covered. http://amzn.to/2soRP7H
Onyx and Ryker are an interesting pair. Considering this is a novella they are well developed. I liked how Ms. Wayne wrote the conflict Onyx feels. It was easy to get a sense that she is having a lot of conflicting emotions with respect to Ryker.
This isn't the first book I have read by Ms. Wayne and it won't be the last. I would highly recommend any and all of her work.
If you have read the previous books released in this collection of 11 books from the Midnight Coven you have been reading novellas about Vampires finding their mates, but the one thing that makes this book different to the others is that the roles are changed around. It’s not the male vampire that stubbles into his mate and wants to poses her, the vampire in this story is a strong independent female that wants nothing to do with her human mate.
Onyx is a kick-a$$ Vampire Assassin that was taken from her family as a baby and trained to be a stone cold killer without emotion. She may be small and petite but she is always being underestimated. Vampires are the top of the food chain and despise humans. But fate has other plans for her and she gets a human for a mate. One night she senses that Ryker is in trouble and runs to protect to him, but is conflicted wether or not to help or let him die and be over the whole belonging to a human. But when Ryker steps in front of Onyx to protect her from being stabbed things between them start to change.
I really enjoyed reading this book and was a little disappointed that it had to end, I kept seeing the pages counting down and wanted to prolong it as I wanted so much more from them. I loved going on the journey with them both as they struggled with their emotions and feelings. Thank you Alice for writing so a wonderful story with addictive storyline and characters.
This novella is a dark but sweet love story. Our vampire assassin is a stone cold killer. How can she find love? Fate steps in with a mate. A human mate of all things! See how they learn to work together and how hot the sexy bits are! Another very enjoyable entry in this series. I've never read this author before, but I will be reading her books now! Definitely worth the read.
This is the seventh release in a series of novellas by 11 different authors known as The Midnight Coven. All novellas are stand alone and can be read in any order. The only thing they share is the paranormal world. Onyx is a loner, and doesn’t ever plan to change that. However fate has other plans for her. The characters are well thought out and compliment each other well. I enjoyed this novella.
Alice did a great job with this novella. It was great to reas that the hero was a woman, a vampire woman in this story. Loved reading Onyx and Ryker’s story!!
I loved the characters in this book, especially Onyx, but her with Ryker made for some real kick-ass fun. Onyx is a strong woman and a vampire; she's also short and petite, so for that strength to come from her is a surprise to everyone in her orbit. And when she discovers her connection to Ryker, she isn't just irritated with him as ex-military macho, but she's angry with the situation in which she finds herself. And Ryker, though as tough as they come, ends up having a soft side that complements no only himself but her.
I just found the entire story enjoyable. It was non-stop action mixed with just the right amount of steam. And I can't wait to see if the author follows up with some of the other characters. If anything annoyed me about this story, it was the fact that it was a novella, and I wasn't ready for it to end yet.
