I was born in 1950 in Lancashire and attended a boy’s grammar school. After qualifying as an English and Drama teacher in 1972, I worked in the North East of England for the next 35 years. During that time I did write, mainly plays, pantos and musicals for the students at the three schools in which I worked.

When I stopped teaching I set up my own consultancy firm and worked as an adviser in schools and colleges in the North East of England. The new Conservative Government ended that avenue of work and in 2010 I found that I had time on my hands; having started work at the age of 15 I found the lack of work not to my liking and used the time to research the Roman invasion of Britain and begin to create a novel. The result was The Sword of Cartimandua.

My decision to begin writing was one of the best I have ever taken.

And the saga goes on!

I just bought book #3 and will start reading it once this is done. I truly love this great tale, Griff is a very talented writer, he gives us accurate bits of history and mixes an addicting story with so many honorable and interesting characters. I am so glad that I received this Kindle for I would never have found these books and authors. You like medieval times? Get one of Griff's books, you will be glad you did!

What a great glimpse into Viking life. The action keeps you turning the pages as you get a first hand look at the Viking culture start to spread beyond Scandinavia.

(The 3* does not portend mediocrity, perhaps latter it will be upgraded to a 4* rating as I am already onto the 3rd volume of the series).

2nd in Hosker’s addictive Dragonheart Series. As good as the first, entertaining, unpretentious and just plain everyday good read.

Vikings portrayed as violent, opportunistic scavengers and slavers they probably were who nevertheless maintain the Warrior’s Ethos

Unsure on how historically correct it might be, but suspension of disbelief is easily done and takes care of any pesky details.

Never a dull moment

I like how there is always something exciting happening. I rated it a 3 because narrator was as a first person and i like it to be as a 3rd person
