Ten-year-old Daisy Chadwick wins an essay contest, and the prize is her entire class gets to visit Clan Stonefire. Even if her best friend can’t come because her mom is afraid of dragon-shifters, Daisy is still excited. She’s determined to see a dragon up close and pet him.
Freddie Atherton can’t wait to meet some humans his own age. At least, until he’s paired with a strange one. And not just any strange one, but a girl who may get into more trouble than even him, and that’s saying something.
As the pair bond over a mini-adventure, Freddie learns that humans can be fun. He only hopes their sneaking away doesn’t keep the humans from ever coming back. ===== NOTE: This is a story for all ages. So if you have a younger one you'd like to share some dragon-shifters with, this story is perfect!
Jessie Donovan has sold over half a million books, has given away hundreds of thousands more to readers for free, and has even hit the NY Times and USA Today bestseller lists. She is best known for her dragon-shifter series, but also writes about magic users, aliens, and even has a crazy romantic comedy series set in Scotland. When not reading a book, attempting to tame her yard, or traipsing around some foreign country on a shoestring, she can often be found interacting with her readers on Facebook. She lives near Seattle, where, yes, it rains a lot but it also makes everything green.
If you have fallen in love with this author’s dragons, you are going to enjoy this short glimpse into their youth. These two trouble finders are the perfect partners is that maybe a sign of their future. Only time will tell, but in the meantime I can see them going on many adventures to answer all of their questions. I hope the author continues to give us looks into their childhood and I am always routing for the HEA.
I usually hate reading stories from a child's point of view but this was brilliantly done! I absolutely loved it. It was hilariously innocent and sweet, it was incredibly well written. I cannot wait for more of these two kiddos lol
Awesome and Charming story about Stonefire dragons and humans
What I like about this story is that when Daisy wrote what she liked about dragons, she won the contest and want to trip to visit Stonefire dragons. What is special about seeing the dragons is because nobody's allowed on Stonefire land without permission. This little human girl who was really excited about seeing her first dragon.
Freddy is a dragon shifter who is 10 years old and very excited about meeting his first human. He's paired with Daisy, but wanted to be paired with a human boy. He finds he likes to tease her. She really want to see a dragon up close. So they sneak away. After their little Adventure day are caught by the dragon protector and take me to see the leader of Stonefire dragons. Bram is charmed by Daisy and has a brilliant idea. What is his idea?
This little story is a characterization that brings Stonefire dragons and. humans alive for the reader. This story is well-written written and could be easily read by children as well as adults. I think that writing the shorts little glimpses into the life of Stonefire dragons be an excellent idea. Also if you have a few interesting recipes that might be also included. I for one would buy this collection of stories.
Meeting the Humans is a very short novella (20 minutes or less) and 1st in a new standalone Clean dragon-shifter series that is appropriate for all audiences. There are no sexual scenes or sexual inferences what-so-ever, nor is any profanity present. Meeting the Humans is suitable for young children to read.
The main characters are a 10 yr old human girl and a 10 yr old dragon-shifter boy who spend a day together when a local class of human children visit Stonefire’s dragon community as a “breaking down the barriers” communication project between shifters and humans. It gets interesting when Daisy decides she needs to see and experience more of dragon culture than what her teacher has planned for them.
Meeting the Humans is a very quick read and written, I believe, for young children to enjoy. I have read each of the previous complete books in Jessie’s dragon-shifter adult series and feel this short novella complements the other titles quite nicely - but from a child’s perspective. I do recommend Meeting the Humans to anyone.
I loved Freddie and Daisy. We get to see some of our favorite dragons but the story was not about the grown-ups. I love the fact that Freddie was talking to his dragon and that Daisy was generally excited to meet a nice or two dragons. I cannot wait to find out what mischief the two of them can get into. Also I have a feeling that this will not be the last time that Daisy and Freddie interact with one another. I am super excited that Stonefire and the humans have decided to have a summer camp of a sorts for the children.
Getting into trouble isn't just a human trait. Freddie has a knack for it with the support of his dragon, as does Daisy and is good at it--for a girl.
Kids are kids dragon or human as Daisy and Freddie soon learn. Paired up for the human kid's visit to Stonefire, the two begin a bit rough but then a bond of curiosity builds.
This is a short but cute story that will have you grinning or giggling all the way home.
A great little read for those limited free time people who'd love a lunch or break read.
Daisy Chadwick is a 10 year old human girl that just loves dragons. She wins an essay contest letting her and her class visit clan Stonefire. She wants to meet a dragon so badly it's all she can think about. Now Freeddie Atherton is a dragon boy and he can't wait to meet and talk to the human boys his age but nope they stick him with a girl. They end up having more in common then they thought. Lol Loved this sweet story it was so much fun to read. The characters are so cute. Don't miss it. Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it.
Ok I didn’t think reading about the dragon/human kids would be good and it wasn’t.....IT WAS GREAT !!!!! I can see several stories of childish/adult mischief ahead for Freddie and Daisy. And any more you want to throw in.... having them keep writing and talking to one another would be a fantastic way to get more Dragon Human relations going..... You know what they say. “Out of the mouths of babes”.... thanks for the glimpse into heir minds....
Daisy won a contest and her class gets to meet the Stonefire Clan. Freddie’s class will be the ones showing them around but there are rules to follow for 10yr olds. This is actually a cute story. Daisy has so much energy and excitement in wanting to meet a dragon. Freddie wants to know the humans but also is dealing with his dragon side communicating with him. You have to love a story from a child’s view. These two are adorable. What will the future hold for them?
This was such a Adorable sweet story about the kids! I LOVED the little troublemakers! I was laughing and smiling the entire story! I would LOVE to see the friendship of these two blossom further as they get older, perhaps even be future mates themselves. I also Loved her bubblyness in meeting her first Dragon and her interaction with Bram! So freaking cute!
I totally enjoyed reading this short in Stonefire Dragons Short book #1, Meeting the Humans. This introduced Daisy a human child meeting with Dragons and becoming friends with Freddie, a child Dragon shifter. It's so cute that I totally enjoyed reading this book and want more with Daisy and Freddie in future stories. Loved it
It's 2 short!! But it's 2 adorable!! Daisy is 2 excited and eager 2 c everything and Freddy don't care 4 her at 1st cause she constantly talks but at least he helped her 2 try and know dragons better like they all want humans 2 do. It's funny how Kia and Bram got a kick out of her being 2 excited!! Hopefully in future there can b sumthing more between them lol that would be a sight 2 c!! Lol
I would love to read more about Daisy and Freddie's adventures. This story had me smiling from beginning to the end. And although Freddie's Dragon didn't think it as a big deal I bet Daisy would just love to see him shift.
Yet another awesome book in this series. I'm addicted. Totally obsessed with the Dragons. Great story line, great Author. Can't wait for the next book. I read this book in one sitting. I need more.
This is the cutest short Dragon book. Daisy is a human child and Freddie is a Dragon child. They are paired up. Human student s got to visit the Dragon students. What an adventure that was! I definitely need to read more of these two.
I liked this short story linked to the Stonefire clan. I also suspect young dragon Freddie and human Daisy May be potential mates when they’re of age. It was a sweet funny story and made me chuckle a good few times
I started reading to my children almost from the day they were born and they are avid readers to this day. This book is awesome! The addition of colourful illustrations would be perfect to add to any child's library; would love it for my grandson!
Short and Sweet but such fab fun to read about the kids almost like a peek behind the scenes of the main Stonefire series which is my favourite dragon series ever!! Loved this
It's a great book. It was great to see from a younger perspective what the 1st time meeting is like for both sides. Hope there are more stories like this to come.
This book was fun to read and it will be nice to see what Freddy and Daisy get up too next. Would love to have more stories about the children of the dragons.
It was sweet and funny. Hmmm. Wonder how their friendship will evolve? Can’t wait for more of her books. I love this whole world. I would be just like Daisy!
This short was FABULOUS! I definitely want more of Freddie and Daisy! What a pair of mischief makers!😄 I'd love to see what adventures they can get into!💚
Freddie and Daisy should be written in short story form into their adulthood. They either become romantically involved or remain best friends finding their true mates.
