Defying death takes a toll. Rowan and Julian never expected to survive, but now they are back from their ordeal changed in ways nobody could have imagined and reluctant to share their struggles—even with each other. Not that it matters anyway—personal trials have to take a backseat to duty. As they try to become the king and queen Vernanthia so desperately needs, they must grapple with their newfound powers, a new marriage and all the complications of falling madly in love with someone you barely know. The path of true love was never smoothly paved—but this is a minefield.
The epic love story of Rowan and Julian continues in this imaginative retelling of Shakespeare’s classic Romeo Juliet. If you think you know how this story ends—think again!
Susan Harris is a writer from Cork in Ireland. An avid reader, she quickly grew to love books in the supernatural/fantasy genre. When she is not writing or reading, she loves music, oriental cultures, tattoos, anything Disney and psychology. If she wasn't a writer she would love to be a FBI profiler or a PA for Dave Grohl or Jared Leto.
This wastes no time and picks up where the first book left off. The writing in this series is original and so wonderful. There's a couple of surprises but not too many that it confuses you. I kept getting more invested in this story the more I read it. Secrets are found out and multiple relationships are tested in this second installment of a brilliant version of a classic story. The ending is another cliff hanger but that's okay because we don't have to wait too long for the third to come out. If you enjoyed the first book but are hesitant to read this one fearing it won't be as good you can rest assured that it's equally amazing.
Everyone thinks they know how a Romeo and Juliet story ends, and in book 1 it kind of does ...... but then we have book 2 and literally all bets are off. Susan Harris does an amazing job in taking a classic tale and giving it a whole magical makeover. As a HUGE fan of Romeo and Juliet I am always worried about how a reimagining will work out, especially when the concept has been given SUCH a makeover, but I didn't need to worry. Until Death Do Us Part is a page turner and races you towards the final book in the trilogy. I guarantee you will want to know how this story it going to end, because it doesn't end here!
Another easy 5 stars from me! Bring on book 3! V""V
𝚆𝚘𝚠! 𝙽𝚘𝚠, 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚠𝚊𝚜 𝚞𝚗𝚎𝚡𝚙𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚎𝚍! I liked the dark twist this story was taken. I still like that it is a retelling, especially from my favorite Shakespeare's novel. I have been reading these books in one sitting: the writing is easy and makes the reading flow. I like how the story has developed and that the characters start questioning everything, especially their star-crossed lover's condition. Loved it, can't wait to read the next one!
Took me way too long to get through this. I really liked book one so I bought book two. It wasn’t bad, but obviously didn’t hold my attention enough. I didn’t like Rowan’s character as much as before. Still sweet, but left on a big cliff hanger just like book one, not sure if I’ll read the 3rd.
