Lost Origins #3

The Eagle Plague

Rate this book
Some histories are too dangerous to expose…

In ancient Rome, military units would carry a staff topped with an eagle. Known as “aquilas,” these were symbols of Rome’s might, of its superiority, so revered that garrisons would search for lost staffs in enemy territory, even after suffering defeat in battle. Unfortunately, no aquila has been recovered or seen by modern eyes.

Until now.

When a geneticist with neo-Nazi funding surfaces, having evidently uncovered a mysterious aquila, the Lost Origins Recovery Institute investigates, and quickly discovers the object is not quite what it seems. Soon, Jules Sibeko, the loose cannon of the group, uses his unique abilities to track down its location ... where he discovers its dark, terrifying function.

With a mystery stretching from millennia-old Egyptian legend into the realms of modern day quantum physics, and the key to unlocking human evolution, Jules and the team must use all their intelligence and physical prowess to prevent a madman from poisoning the world.

The Eagle Plague is the third novel featuring the Lost Origins Recovery Institute (LORI). If you enjoy globe-trotting travel adventure, international mystery and crime, or archaeological thrillers, pick up this fast paced action adventure novel today.

Exciting adventures, but a bit of a roller coaster, and can even leave you with whiplash. Essential to this series, the works of the mysterious past are revealed. Read all the way to the end, because there are shockers.
Warning: This is a set up for an even bigger story set in the next novel. If you really must get all the answers then you might want to wait until the release of the next in series and read them together.
I'm glad I read it now, because I can re-read it when the next book comes out. It's that intense, so you will enjoy the Eagle Plague as a standalone novel too.

Antony Davies is a very good author, with several strong styles. He's yet to find his perfect voice, but you'll benefit by starting on as many of these as you can.

Volcanic Excitement Cliffhanger

LORI is on the hunt for a super virus that could potentially get wipe out most of the human race except for people of a superior DNA. Meanwhile people are being used for as guinea pigs. Jules DNA is catalyst to the virus and the volcanos in which The Witness have laid the ground work millions of years ago. Can the group get there in time? Does Jules have the strength to withstand what he needs to do? Will Jules be strong enough physically and mentally?
Will their arch enemy fuller recover from the cave in in India? Great job. Thank you! On to the next book.

An enjoyable read.

Enough mystery and action to keep you engaged. The ,hero's, are believable and entertaining and the villains are accurately portrayed for evil people who we all know live in this world. It's not intended as a deep meaningful book but you can draw your own parallels with historical figures. I already have the next story in this line and look forward to where it takes the tale.

Hate to have to wait for next book due in April. Lots of different character development with moral questions regarding good vs. Evil, right to take a life under what circumstances

Enjoyable thriller

Good thriller ,characters remain consistent throughout the series and good flow to the story. The character, Jules, is quite interesting and multidimensional. His character is the most developed of all but that doesn't take away from enjoyment.
