Too long and complicated. The rhymes were forced and awkward. I like the idea of finding items, but the artwork isn't conducive to hide-and-seek.

I begin to read this book to my preschool class, having them each find something on the pages when I stop mid-sentence and cannot believe what I have read. "Being skinny's a plus when you're trying to hide. It gives you more options, that can't be denied".

I cannot believe this book was ever published. It does NOT promote body positivity; in fact, it implies that you cannot find a good hiding place if you are not skinny; if you are not skinny, you should not participate; if you are not skinny, you are not good enough; if you are not skinny, why bother?

I will never read this story again to anyone.

What a great book with an active rhyme for kids to listen to before the hunt begins. The art work is amazing with tons of hidden items. Note that not all items are referenced, so its a great way to build visual skills. Strongly recommend for young children. I would say ages 3 thru 7 or 8 based on their ability. Easy to do one hide and seek 2-page spread a night. Then find other things.

What a fun book! The children are tired of the rain and after a week of it, when it finally stops, they decide to go outside to play hide and seek. This rhyming story of each child hiding is a lot of fun! My six year old son enjoyed finding the hider and the raccoon on each page. This is part story and part “look and find”.

This book is very interactive and makes children want to continuously go to the next page of it. It is on the longer side but it is still really fun.

Fun, interactive book. I like the rhymes and the task of finding different items on each page.

What a fun book! I can just see Mom or Dad with the kids reading and searching through the pages for the kids who are hiding in the ageless game of hide and seek and all the little objects - i.e. 2 spoons, 4 flip flops, 1 raccoon, etc. - tucked away in the illustrations.

The Mom’s Choice Awards® has named Hide!!! among the best in family-friendly media, products and services.

The Mom’s Choice Awards® (MCA) is an awards program that recognizes authors, inventors, companies, parents and others for their efforts in creating quality family-friendly media, products and services.

I love that it is written in rhyme with a good deal of humor.

"Where to go?" thought Chris Cash

As he made a mad dash

To hide where he'd never be found.

When he saw the big tree

His heart leapt with glee.

To find him, don't look on the ground!

The illustrations get more complicated and the hidden objects become more numerous and varied as the "story" progresses.

This colorful children's book took me back to a kinder, slower, more gentle time. A time when on a summer's evening the kids were safe to run through the neighbor playing hide and seek. They were safe. They had fun. And it was good exercise. Remember how we could slip back in to "base" while the seeker's back was turned? It was always good to do that and not be found. The essence of this time of fun in a child's life was captured by the facial expressions and body language of the kids.

Well done, author Jeff Foxworthy and Illustrator Steve Bjorkman.

We picked this up at the library. It is actually a really good book...it's got a bit of a story with all the kids playing hide and seek. I liked that there was a short rhyming poem-esque text on each page giving clues to finding the hiding kids. It kept adding things to find, all the way up to 15 items...and all the previous items were also hiding in the picture. It got WAY overwhleming for my 2 year old, so we once we got to 4, we decided to just start finding the kid and the racoon.

We tried reading this as a bedtime story, and it was much too difficult to read as a bedtime story. This is a fantastic book though to teach kids how to use clues to find things and make them look pretty hard at the pictures to find all the items. I actually really liked this...I just wish we had read it during the day rather than at bedtime.

What a fun morning I spent snuggled up with my daughter reading this book. Hide!!! is more of a seek and find book then a typical picture book. Each page you have to find a new creature or item. Filled with silly pictures and not always easy critters to find we giggled to see who could find the next thing on the list first. Always appreciate an opportunity to share a book and a laugh with my child.

This book took about 30-45 minutes for me and my 5 year old to read and find all the items. I thought the idea was cool, but the execution was poor. Horrible rhymes, and seriously, finding the same items on every page but adding a new item with a higher number? Made for a really long read. My daughter loved finding items, but was frustrated by the difficulty in the artwork and finding each item. Ultimately a fail by Foxworthy, what did you expect?

I loved this book. Not only is it a good story, it is engaging as well. Each page you need to find something. It starts off with 1 raccoon to find. Then on the next page you find 1 raccoon and 2 spoons and so forth

This was really a cool seek and find book that is a great challenge to the early reader. The only thing that I don't like about these kind of books is that they have a short shelf life for a bunch of money. I could see that easily being the case with this book.

Nice rhyming text. Eye Spy fans will like this one--each page lists different things that are hiding in the pictures.

Great combination of a childhood memories of parents with the imagination of children. It was an added bonus to also have an image discovery game embedded in the book. Great fun.

This is both a counting book and a search for the objects in the pictures. There are multiple items per page to look for - which provides a real challenge.
