I just can't wait to be King..

... Said no one ever. Except for that one kid, but he was too young to understand. - Levi Rearden.

Levi Rearden's life changes the moment he meets Grace Ann Bryant. However, he finds out that his life changed many years ago. He was put on the path to her doorstep long before he ever stepped foot in Shady Grove, Alabama. Now that he has her heart, he begins to question whether or not the love between them is natural or a well-planned out romance by her father and his knights.

In the midst of an attack by the Summer Queen, Rhiannon, Grace realizes what Levi's middle name is without him telling it to her. This fuels Levi's doubts about his place in Shady Grove and his place in Grace's heart. But staying true to his instincts, Levi pushes through his fears and doubts to do the right thing no matter what.

The whole town of Shady Grove responds to the challenge of Summer. As Levi treks into that realm to retrieve his Queen, he learns more about the loyalty of his people, as well as, what he is really made of. But is it enough to save her? Is it enough to be the King the exiles need? Suck It Up, Buttercup is the 12th book in the Fairy Tales of a Trailer Park Queen by Kimbra Swain.

Great addition to a great series

Kimbra Swain does it again with Suck it up, Buttercup. As an Alabama girl myself, I appreciate the southern twang in the trailer park books. I love the romance between Levi and grace. It's what any (human or otherwise) woman wants. Can't wait for the next one!

**Warning: this text may contain spoilers** Well in this one for once it's Grace that goes missing. Levi looks after the kids while trying to find her. I liked the idea of the nightmares when they get close to Grace. I think Rhiannon's death was a little anti climatic. I liked the way Levi and the kids talked about Grace and Levi getting married. Now that Rhiannon is out the way it's time for the final fight for winter.

Questions Answered - New Questions Posed - Mild Spoilers

This book was AMAZING! I loved how many questions that were posed in previous books were answered, however, each one gave me something else to ponder. After reading so many (ok all) of Kimbra's works, I am confident she will answer all my questions in the end, but the waiting is not easy.

I loved the reference to one of her upcoming spinoff series, and that throughout all of the books, the one thing that Grace has never deviated on was that she will do anything for those she loves. Now we get a completely different point of view and we get to see how Levi really thinks and it is AWESOME!

I love how this particular story gave us some real insight into the bonds that have formed among Grace's knights. I cried when Grace was taken, but knowing that everything would work out, in the end, made it ok. I cried when Levi got to see his mom again and got to have at least one real conversation with his father. I hated that his father is gone, but I'm grateful that his parents are back together.

I can ramble on forever about all the things I love about this series and in particular this book, but I want to finish this by saying READ IT!

Holy flaming Taters

I love every installment in this series. The character growth, the depth, the detail.
SIUB was no exception.
I’d been in a book slump, unable to truly pick anything up or have it hold my attention.
Kimbra Swain ALWAYS manages to snag me and I always find myself devouring a book in a matter of hours.
This book was heavy in knowledge and in action.
I loved the Levi POV and it truly answered so many questions I’d been waiting for for nearly the entire series.
It also gave me more.
It was heavy in action and drama but not without it’s more light hearted parts that truly make this series shine as one of the best of all time.
I’m eagerly... and nervously.. awaiting the next book and am excited and scared to see the battles yet to come.
This is probably, besides sight for sore eyes, the best book Kimbra has released to date.

What an amazing story!

Kinda Swain contour to amaze me with the way she pulls you into her stories! I love the duality of her characters and how they interact with each other. Grace and Levi are my favorite lovers. They fight for each other and for those they care for. This story has a depth that I haven't seen in a lot of books. Suck It Up Buttercup was equal parts magical and intense. This answers many questions brought up in previous books, but also leaves you with anticipation of what is to come. It made me laugh, cry, and look forward to what is yet to come. I haven't been entertained with a book so much as I was with this one.

It's finally Levi's turn!!!

Levi gets to tell his tale in this epic story that has battles, love, and true friendship. Levi steps up to his new found title as King and becomes the leader he was always meant to be. While his beloved sleeps just feet away, Levi must fight his deepest fears if he wants to save Grace. One of the best books of the series! Kimbra continues to write these beautiful fairy tales that keep her readers coming back for more... And more... And more!

Put some butter on this one; it's definitely a good biscuit

Let me get this out of the way. My biggest complaint about the book. It was over way too soon!!!

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST ONE in the series!!!! There was just the right amount of action, interpersonal dynamics, romance, history, myth, supernatural and snark. Also, almost any question you have had, up to this point, is answered. Of course, now, there are more questions.I

Just read it!! You will love it!

Amazing

When a series goes over a few books, there is a risk of repeated storylines or "filler" to make enough pages to qualify as another book. The author does not do this. The book was exciting, with highs and lows, and a great continuation of this series. I cannot wait for these last three books.
Don't mess with Grace's kids!

I love this series. Like many of the other books in this series, this one had me laughing and crying all within the span of a few chapters. I love how the characters feel like my friends. Let me start off by saying this book was sooo much better than the last one, it was a different change of pace having the story told from Levi's point of view. There was a ton of action, almost the entire story there is a lot of action. Much more of the things we have been dying to know have finally come to the light. I am trying to write this review without any spoilers - LOL! Also there were no grammatical errors - yay!!
So here's the real, it is so hard keeping up with a story with so many characters that play vital roles, I know how we all love all of the characters but damn it's hard. Also I kept getting confused with Dominick and Nick and they weren't even mentioned in the character legend in the back.
A good portion of this story is just Levi's thoughts which is ok but he thinks so damn much so sometimes you just want to get to the point and not have all the extra chatter about it.
Now my last thing to mention, is I see how the author is trying to build a really developed world and we are learning more and more of the back story, however it is getting kind of convoluted with how she is trying to talk about the reincarnations from King Arthur's world to now to before - like you need a back story just for all that.
Other than those 3 things, the story was good, definitely recommend reading and I am waiting for the next!

Complex an Compelling!!

I didnt know if i would enjoy a being in Levi's head but i have to say i was blown away by how well it was set up. We have had tidbits of his point of view in the series but getting to really see the whole picture an get in depth in his thoughts gave this book an extra layer of quality.
The story as always was intriguing and complex, woven in a way that made you breathless an in a rush to see how it all ends!!! As many questions get answered we are left with new curiousities to fuel our need for next books in the series!! Kimbra did not disappoint at all with this step of the journey an is just as fresh as ever!!!

Oh the angst of the sleeping! Or play the hand you are dealt?

As Grace and Levi are planning to move forward to settle the imbalance in their worlds, they were forced to rely on others instead of doing as they would have preferred. All the realms had many surprising issues to present Levi and the group that went to support him. Grace was held in sleep and had to be rescued to keep the control in the forces of Good. Now they revive Grace and quickly must go home to prevent the children from being hurt. Now we are looking at a forty eight hour preparation for the wedding event in Shady Grove. Wonder how that’s going to fair?

Honestly, this series by Kimbra Swain is not my usual "traditional" romance standalone with the story wrapped by with a HEA at the end of each book. However I saw a post on Facebook and thought I'd give the first book a try. Well it sucked me in and I haven't looked back. I devoured the first several books that had been published prior to me finding this author and now I have to wait somewhat patiently for each new book. The series has only gotten better with each successive book and that means this book is well beyond five stars. I'm looking forward to the next book, hopefully soon.

Love loves loved! Kimbra has created an amazing universe of traditional and contemporary folklore. This series has hooked me from book 1. This book differs from the others as Grace has allowed it to be told from Levi's POV. The ability to switch voices so deep into a series and not change the pace or feel of the story line is a testament to Kimbra's strength as an author.

The series is drawing to a close but we know there's already 2 spin offs in the works so we won't be leaving the Trailverse behind. I'm glad, because Shady Grove feels like home.

Gravy has been swapped...Now what?

In Book 11 of this series we finally saw Grace and Levi get together. Que the happy ending and time of peace and enjoyment. Right? WRONG!! Levi must rely on the good townsfolk of Shady Grove more than ever as he races to make his family whole again. Along the way there are startling revelations, and a responsibility that Levi must embrace fully in order to save his Queen. Can Levi and his band of brothers get there in time? And, more importantly, will they all make it home? Grab your copy today and find out!

Another great story

I love this series. I love the southern style. I love that this was told from Levi's POV. The battles were epic. I could see them playing like a movie in my head. I was sad to know the betrayal that our queen faced but happy for how this episode wrapped up. I am already ready to read the BONUS CONTENT!!! AND THE NEXT BOOK! I love that Kimbra Swain gives her fans so much and that I don't have to wait 6 months to get my next fairy fix.

Just gets better

I love this series! This book you learn more about Levi, and it's mostly him telling the story and his point of view. You learn a lot in this book about the past of some of the other characters and how they all fit. I love how this story is unfolding and how each character plays their own role. Kimbra certainly has a way with words, and sucks you into her world with them.

Holy Cow!

This book was absolutely amazing. I love that it was told from Levi's point of view and that we FINALLY know his middle name, lol. Once again Ms. Swain does an excellent job telling this story and sucking us into her world. Looking forward to the next one in the series!

Outstanding! After an abduction, Levi steps to the forefront, flexing his bard to set things right. With facing coordinated attacks in multiple realms, he needs an edge or two. Even more answers are unveiled in this multilayered tapestry of roles and behind the scenes setups as the knights go forth to hopefully crown a true king.

The trailer park queen never fails

Kimbra Swain knocked this one out of the park, and Yet I still feel like I caught the home run ball. This book sucks you in, wrings you dry, and then leaves you anxiously waiting for more. If you haven’t started this series yet, you need to. It’s exactly what a good story should be.

Great read!

We get so much more Levi in this book. I love that more parts of him are revealed. I'm also dying to know what happened between Dylan and him when they were both prisoner in Otherworld. Many things are hinted at, that made him stronger. I also love the fierce protectiveness thst Adyan has for his mom. Still a bit of Dylan with us.

A summer wedding, how perfect?

Well, Summer realm and Rhiannon are causing major problems. Levi and Grace get a party together to defeat her but, Grace gets captured instead. Can Levi save them all before it is too late? This is Levi's story told from mostly his perspective.

Great book. I highly recommend it. Off to read the next in series.
