Ty Wilcox has leveled up. Unfortunately, so have his enemies. Ty is no longer the loser he had once been. He’s gone from zero to superhero, all thanks to a device on his wrist that brings a hidden power out into the light.
Before Ty came along, only a few of the devices existed. But a secretive villain has learned how to make them, and one of New Lincoln’s most dangerous crime lords has a supply of them as well.
And now, superpowered villains even stronger than Ty are stepping out of the dark.
The balance of power is changing, and not for the better.
Does Ty have the power to stop it, even with his growing team of superheroines at his side?
Warning and minor spoilers: “Enhancer 3” is an 18+ book intended for mature readers. It contains sex, violence, and nudity, but it’s all very tastefully done. It includes very light gamelit elements, occasional bad language, and is set in a cyberpunk alternate future. Most of all, you will find an engaging superhero adventure story with a few unexpected twists.
The Enhancer series was written with one thing in mind: fun. If that’s what you’re looking for, you’ve come to the right place.
The author really makes the MC stand out as one of the most retarded characters I have ever read. What kind of a moron can’t think of a way to make money from a super power that grants them the ability to fix or create any technology? Apparently the MC rather go clean vomit and poop at a club, while taking verbal abuse from a shitty boss. That bit of BS just kills this MC and respect for author who thinks ppl want to read about this. I just wish I hadn’t bought book 4&5 on kindle and could get a refund.
The author really should quit writing stories if this is how he writes. Once again Ty is severally underpowered in every single way. I have never seen a more pathetic excuse for a superhero since BAT COW. Imagine you have a power that allows you to constantly increase your power and you do nothing with it. Instead you wanna focus on a meaningless job and irrelevant things. The author fucked up this Ty's character badly. Instead of having Ty look at things objectively and focus on the things that are more important, he instead wrote it that Ty is looking for a job. Fine it wasn't long but still, really after the bombshell that was dropped literally at the end of Book 2, you gonna start the next book with him looking for a job. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.
Not only does he write this ridiculous scene in the beginning of his book, but once again he writes Ty being literally useless and afraid again. COME THE FUCK ON. Why is this man in a constant state of fear? Why does he never focus on anything important? Instead the author biggest concern for Ty right now in the story is him fixing the wall in an apartment he would never live in again. THIS IS ACTUALLY STUPID. Focus on developing your main character. SMH. You write very short stories yet choose to focus on shit that is irrelevant. Unless paying his bills is magically gonna make him defeat the boss why the fuck is there heavy emphasis on it. Not only that, the way in which he gets another paycheck and potentially another useful skill, was so stupid. This is very lousy writing. Having the main character just stumble upon all the things he needed in one place. Jeezus H Mice.
Also, why does the main character only fight grunts. That is so boring to read. NO ONE CARES. Anytime Ty has to fight anything stronger than a regular human, he is useless. THIS IS A SUPERHERO BOOK YET THE MAIN CHARACTER IS WEAKER AND MORE PATHETIC THAN MOST SUPERHEROES IN ANY OTHER SERIES. Ty has one of the best powers that you can have i.e a way to constantly upgrade himself yet he does nothing. WTF.
I am truly disappointed in this series. A lot of the plot elements are just straight boring. Fight scenes - boring. Relationships - weird, undeveloped and boring. The characters - boring. Apart from just being boring, the main character actions throughout the book is just so underwhelming. It seems the author really likes to make the main character useless for the majority of the time we spend with him, the only exception is when he is having sex. Atleast then, he is up to the task but other than that, straight pathetic. We the readers had to wait 3 books for him to finally do one useful and meaningful thing and yet still, he needed help to come up with the idea. When I read a superhero story, I want to see the hero use his own strengths to beat the bad guys (not only the grunts but the big bosses), not have his friend tell him (hey use this) and then stand back to watch the other characters fight the real villains. It's just so frustrating.
P.S Author please know your target audience. I guarantee that the majority of readers are going to be young adult males like myself, so constantly writing the main character needs saving all the time is THE SINGLE MOST ANNOYING THING TO READ. At least for me, when I want to read a harem fantasy book, I come for literally only two things. The harem and how strong the main character is. If you wanna be different that's fine but writing a weak, no confidence and constantly afraid main character really ain't the way to go chief, especially for your target demographic my dude. Sometimes being different isn't a good thing.
P.P.S I ain't having fun. Stop lying to me author. I came for fun but all I got was anger and disappointment.
I received an Audible code via Audiobook Boom for an honest review. What follows is my opinion and mine alone. There was no compensation for this review.
I have been hooked on the Enhancer series since book one. It is geeky, packed with action, and fun. Enhancer 3 begins where the second one ends. Ty and team are unsure about Lilith. They are also given a new set of villains and have a ton of devices to find.
I enjoyed this one about as much as I enjoyed the second, possibly more. The characters are growing and there are twists I wasn't completely expecting. I did not care for Ty's decisions in this book, but I felt it was true with the character and story. I just hope that what he has done doesn't end up messing things up in the end.
The twists are making me wonder just what The Master does have planned. I'm also interested to see how the team grows.
The narrator, Chris Graves, is great. However, there was a moment where it seemed Lilith sounded too much like Dinah or the other way around. It was enough to make a mental note of it, but doesn't take away from the story. Like the other books previously, there are sex scenes, so take note of that if it bothers you. Honestly, the dynamic of all the characters and their personal lives didn't bother me as much as I might have thought before starting this series.
I feel Wyatt Kane has written a good group of people who are open with each other for the most part. Except for one individual, but it goes with the story and character development. So, I'm okay with that. All in all, I am definitely going to request book four once it is out.
I forgot to add it in my review of book 2 so I’ll start off by saying Chris Graves is an excellent narrator. This one had a lot more action and I mean that on multiple levels. If only polyamory really was about this much sex. Sadly I know from my own life it is not! Lol We have even more super villains and it’s getting messy. Worried Ty’s roommate is getting in over his head. Why isn’t Ty using his? I mean come on he is being STUPID in this book. I can’t say why because I don’t want to give anything away....but stupid all the same. Still I love the series....but I’m still sick of the constant droning on and on about how perfect the women are. Once per book seems like it could be enough. Why does he keep saying ‘the blonde superhero’ we aren’t going to forget she is blonde at this point and the story is about superheroes. Or the ‘deerkin’ we know that’s what she is, we don’t need reminders every time Dina appears on the scene. Repetition can start to get but I’m trying not to let it soil the story for me. Because it is a great story. I was voluntarily provided this review copy at no charge by the author, publisher and or narrator.
I stopped reading at about the 35% mark. The author needs to find a new description for Tempest other than "the blonde superhero" and stop with the chapter after chapter telling us about the attractiveness of the girls. We get it, they're hot; we don't have to be told every other paragraph in every chapter.
Then there's the useless stuff. There were two chapters that centered around Dinah baking cupcakes and Ty going on and on about how good they are.
The author needs to grow up, get out of his adolescent wish fulfillment and get on with the story. He has the potential for a good story, but it gets lost in smut.
Love the concept of the book but the main character is a freaking idiot. His skill is to enhance what does he do the whole book? Not enhancing. Fails at making money. How about go to a freaking junkyard and enhance some s***. Author how about make the MC enhance his brain. Loved the first two books. Please make the the MC not being idiot. Just doing that would make the story better.
Volume three in the series finds Ty and his trio of lovely ladies battling more bad guys; more numerically and more powerful. One of the villains has discovered how to create the devices which give our superheroes their superpowers. Ty and company now confront bad guys with more. Will our superheroes prevail against this new threat? What about Tempest’s father; is he still alive? Stay tuned folks! I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
The MC is an absolute positive idiot. The author is still doing the same thing as the previous books. He repeats details over and over through the book like a broken record. There are waffles again. He wants to tell the girls that he took part in a drug trial (with nanites in his blood, face to palm) but he decides not to, but makes sure that he tells us at least five times. I actually lowered my rating to one star from two, its that bad.
I like stories where the MCs choices match what I would do in the same situation, this one has the MC making some choices I don’t agree with which was slightly grating. The action was good, the sex is lightly described rather than graphically detailed. I will read the next book.
The list of villains has just gotten much larger, but the Hero's just gain 1 more. Who's going to win and who will loose. How far is too far when trying to get better at being a good guy? Ty is trying his best. Another fun read and I'm on to the next book. Read in 2 days.
Just finished book 3 and I can't wait for book 4. Ty is really becoming interesting as his powers continue to develop. It's good to see him finally begin to level up.
The third book in the Enhancer series continues the personal growth, experience and knowledge of the MC while showcasing his reckless nature at the same time. I anticipate there will be some surprises in the plotlines in the next book.
The elephant in the room is his load of debt, but let's just keep on ignoring it. Second is his desire to fly. While that may be good to get where you want to be, how about a defence or super offence against the ones that want to hurt you?
Enjoyed the book and looking forward to the next one and to see how the team grows. Which additional characters will be added and how the team dynamics will change
He 3ed book gets much better and I am now looking forward to the next one, However I do enjoy the concept of the book but the main character is a freaking idiot and you spend most of the series asking why would anyone do that! the up side is it is entertaining.
