Royal Intentions

Rate this book
For Dr. Whitney Young Ph.D., running away from her painful past was secretly her motivation. The further away she was from her family the better, and a teaching opportunity in the country of Vauxlance was precisely what she needed to keep her far away and focus on her career.

Prince Philippe De Le Stefan is the crown prince of the small western European country of Vauxlance. He’s also filled with pain due to the mistakes of his past. He’d give anything to be free of the guilt that plagued him.

A chance meeting at a lavish party brings together the two broken hearts of the economics professor and the prince.

Caught up in the excitement of romance, fast-paced lifestyles, celebrity, and academics, can the dynamic couple survive the pressures placed on them by outside and internal influences?

Let me start by saying this is my first time reading a book by Janae Keyes
Most likely will be my last...I did not expect the ending to this book, also after reading 26 chapters did not know that it was an out of nowhere ending that was to be continue in a book two, that I can not find to read!
Just not my kind of ending at all, so disappointed

Chapter one to 26 up to the last page was a very good read...last page was so a let down for me

GORGEOUS cover, great premise, but kinda fell apart in execution for me with too many unrealistic moments (e.g. a prince should DAMN well know better than to sext on an unencrypted phone).

DNF. I need to stop downloading insta love/lust books. I just spend the majority of the time rolling my eyes at how cheesy the characters are.

Whitney Young busted her behind to earn her Ph.D, and when she was offered her dream job in the country of Vauxlance, she couldn't wait to get away from her toxic family. See, her mother has always told her how useless she was for as long as she could remember, so even though she's Dr. Whitney Young now, she still carries some heavy baggage. Prince Philippe De Le Stefan is the crown prince of Vauxlance, and has his own share of personal demons, and would do anything to get rid of the guilt of his past. The day he meets Whitney is the day his life finally gets better, and he will do anything to make her his, but can she stand up to the pressures that his life in the public eye will bring her? OMG Janae Keyes wowed me again with Royal Intentions! I absolutely LOVED every minute of this sweet with a big side of spice story! I mean, Philippe & Whitney were HOT HOT HOT together, like set the sheets on fire, HOT! Then, there's all the royal drama of the paps chasing them around, and that definitely got the blood pumping like crazy. Add in the twists, and there were plenty of those, and my mouth was dropping f-bombs like crazy as they came around every corner. Finally, the cast of secondaries were amazing, like his family & her friends, so they added in depth to the story, on top of humor, with a little Prince who liked to scare people. The ending though, I just wanted to scream with that cliffy, because I didn't want it to end. So obviously, the next book can't come out quickly enough, and I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Dramatic royal pairing

Whitney has moved to a new country seeking a new start. She’s been used to being pushed aside and thought of negatively by her mother and so when she has the opportunity to be a professor across the water from America, she grabs it. She doesn’t expect to find love, especially when she feels so unworthy of it, but that’s what happens when she meets Prince Philippe. They have an instant attraction. But she’s a young African American woman in a new country. Does she want to deal with the celebrity and fame that comes with dating a royal?
Prince Philippe might be royal but it hasn’t been all luxury and ease. He’s made some mistakes and they haunt him. He was also married once and he’s content to not do that again...until he meets Whitney. She brings light and purpose to his life and he seeks to make her his. There are a number of outside forces that hate the idea of them together, but he only wants them to be happy together.
I liked the idea of this book but the execution did not always deliver. I found some of the sections/phrases repetitive and the scenarios predictable. With that said, I did appreciate that these characters spoke to each other like grown ups and we didn’t have too much inner dialogue without talking to each other about their feelings.
This is my first book by this author and I might try one more book before I decide if I like her writing style or not.

A really fun and feel-good romance. I'm not the biggest fan of insta-love in the world, although this was probably the best-executed I've read. It's definitely more of a light-hearted read, perfect for a summer's day, but I prefer a bit more grit and conflict. There was an odd combination of overwriting and lacking in information—particularly critical plot information which seemed to be dropped in and relied upon to progress the storyline.

Overall, this was pretty OK, with some nice steamy scenes and an easy plot.

I love books that actually have things that may be realistic. Whitney is worked her butt off getting to where she is and nobody will take it away from her. Prince Philippe just want to be accepted for the hard work that he puts in. This one couple that wouldn't think would get together since she is not royal or comes from money. I had a great time reading this book and will read more from Janae Keyes. I urge you to read her other books as well.
