Paul Porter’s career took a giant leap forward when he convinced his wife, Lisa, to move to Clayborne, Alabama for a job with Cinnamon Corporation. He thought it was the opportunity of a lifetime with a considerable boost in position, salary, and benefits. Lisa saw it as an answer to prayer that would allow her to leave a promising career as an electrical engineer to become a stay-at-home mom. Nine months later, they have a beautiful house, but there is still no baby, and Paul has turned into a workaholic. Both their dreams implode when Paul finds himself tangled in a web of deceit, seduction, espionage, and murder. Paul’s career, his marriage, and his very life are threatened, and nothing will survive this trial by fire except through faith in Jesus.
The story had devoted Christian, plus flawed and scarred Christian characters, as well as non Christian unequally yoked characters. Testing and growth of faith ran all through the story line. I thought the end was a little too abrupt, but overall, I enjoyed the book!
