I am as obsessed with this story as these characters are with Karuta.

16 volumes in, we have such a big supporting cast that almost every matchup is memorable and somehow you are rooting for everyone to win. Especially Taichi deserves everything. He has put in a lot of effort not just as a player but also as president of the club and I am happy to see it finally paying off and him getting some of that luck that keeps avoiding him.

This was such a fun volume. Chihaya has grown so much throughout this story, and seeing her struggle and overcome issues in this volume was really fun to read. Taichi's reaction was amazing too.

As always, the story is sublime and the art is great. The characters are lovable and grow a lot throughout the story. Reading the karuta matches keeps being interesting and never gets dull, despite being similar in themes. I love this series.

I love Chihaya, I love everyone. The character writing, the triumphs. The infectious bubble of emotions in their sport-art appreciation.

As soon as we saw the classes of our Mizusawa members we knew what the results would be pretty much. I’m hoping for a Mashima win, as well as Desk 🥹
