Discover Andrographis

Rate this book
Discover Andrographis Herbalists throughout Asia have known about the healing wonders of andrographis for millennia. Now Western science is finally catching on. Andrographis paniculata is now one of the best-researched traditional herbal remedies to find its way into the annals of modern medicine. It’s no surprise. Andrographis has now been scientifically validated as a remedy—and sometimes a preventive—for a wide spectrum of illnesses and diseases. That’s because andrographis is an adaptogen, a unique class of plant medicinals that provides everything your body needs to survive, addressing complex disease processes that stymie conventional medicine. And, in many cases, andrographis has been shown to be as effective as prescription drugs—sometimes even more effective—without serious side effects. If that sounds like a lot to swallow, it is! Between the covers of this book, you’ll find all you need to know about this herb, so widely used in Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese medicine, that is rapidly becoming a part of Western medicine as well. You’ll also make sure that andrographis becomes a part of your everyday wellness routine. Alex Panossian, Ph.D., Dr. Sci., is one of the world’s most respected experts in plant medicine. He has multiple advanced degrees in bioorganic chemistry, specializing in natural plant medicines and herbs with broad healing properties called adaptogens. Dr. Panossian has been a professor of bioorganic chemistry in Russia, Armenia, and Sweden. He is past editor of the scientific journals Phytomedicine, International Journal of Phytopharmacology and Phytotherapy. He has authored or co-authored over 180 articles in peer-reviewed journals.

An interesting book loaned to me by my herbalist. It's concise. I'm not sure about the science behind it, but it has a healthy list of studies in the back if I (or anyone else) ever wants to dive in.
