✓Fake Relationship ✓Makeover ✓Frat Guy ✓Strong Girl ✓Revenge ✓Opposites Attract She has a broken heart and revenge on her mind... Last year Karrie was riding high. She had a boyfriend she loved, a softball scholarship, and the best roommate a girl could have. When it turned out her man was a lying, cheating ballsack, she may have gone off the rails a bit. Now, it's a new year and Karrie's ready to build herself back up and move on to bigger and better things. Still, a little revenge would go a long way in helping the healing process. He's got a plan for revenge that will suit them both... Ridge is used to being the BMOC. Sergeant of Arms of his frat and the ability to land any chick within snapping distance has made life pretty easy for him. His home life is another story. He and his brothers are in the middle of a battle between his socialite mother and asshole father. Ridge is looking for a stand-in to placate his mother and her matchmaking ways, and he has a feeling he's just met the girl he can perfectly mold. This makeover has nothing to do with love and everything to do with Karrie and Ridge using each other to get what they want. What starts as a ruse soon becomes an attraction they cannot deny. When it's all said and done, they'll both have more to confess than a need for revenge.

I had such a need for a good college sports romance I spent ages looking through my TBR pile and nothing was jumping out. So I headed to KU and for some reason this one had me one clicking and diving right in.

Since this is the first book I have read from Bethany Lopez I wasn't sure what to expect but I was wrapped from the first chapter. I really love a reformed playboy acehole and Ridge was all that and then some.

But he was so upfront and honest with Karrie, i immediately liked him. Sure he was a bit of a jerk but he really did have valid reasons and watching him open up to Karrie was so cute, since he was so clueless.

I really enjoyed the story and I am absolutely going to be grabbing the rest of the series off KU and then adding the sisters stories to my TBR because this absolutely hit my craving right on the head.

“For someone who claims not to know about love, you sure know how to make a girl swoon. It’s perfect.”

When I started reading I thought how this was going to be another insta love romance. I couldn't be more wrong. Yes, it’s a fast read that is light on angst and drama, steamy without being overly sexy, and I found it so sweet and very easy to read. Ridge is amazing and Karrie just as much. This one goes to amazing writing of the author.

Review by Trinette Dungee

Karrie, a struggling female college student who wants to get revenge on her cheating ex. Ridge, a rich frat boy who has to make mommy happy. A meeting of the minds on how they can each help each other. Typical storyline, but what makes this story different? The chemistry between the two.
Naturally, Karrie is leery about Ridge’s offer to help her. She can see what she gets out of their arrangement; but she can’t see what he’s getting out of it. As the two grow closer, Karrie’s family bonds and loyalty helps her see how money doesn’t exactly mean happiness. I liked Karrie, it was easy to connect to her. I loved her realness, calling Ridge out on his ridiculousness, just her overall personality.

I was immediately intrigued my Ridge from the first few pages. He wasn’t your average douchey frat guy; he wasn’t the you-think-I’m-a-dick-but-I’m-really-a-good-guy, good guy. There were parts of the story where Ridge could be a bit clueless…Like seriously, who hasn’t eaten at the food court in a mall before? C’mon Ridge, get with it.

Of course, the more you get to know Ridge, the more you realize his privileged life isn’t exactly what it seems. His mother is controlling and stuck on appearances, his father is an adulterer and abusive and he doesn’t hide this fact. His main concern has always been keeping his younger brothers safe. His brother Wes has joined him at college and all he needs is for his youngest brother Brody to graduate and join him and Wes. Once Brody is there, Ridge can kiss his parents goodbye and never have to see them again.

What starts out a temporary arrangement quickly turns into something Ridge never knew he needed. With Karrie, he gets a stability and a support he never had.

You also learn that Ridge and his brothers just recently learned they have three older half-sisters. Something about this news kept tugging at me like I was missing something. I did my usual investigation and learned that Frat House Confessions is a spin-off of Three Sisters Catering (Minnie, Dru, and Natasha’s stories). Because I’m like a dog like a bone with this kind of stuff I felt the need to learn their stories before finishing Ridge just in case there was some info I need (I cheated and did the audio. They are a part of the Audible Romance package if you’re interested). You don’t have to read those stories to understand Ridge. I don’t know what it was about this guy but I really liked Ridge.

If I could have one thing added to Ridge’s story, it would be a little more info on his relationship with his parents, specifically his father. I’m assuming, or at least hoping the next books will be about Wes and Brody and perhaps there will be a little more info on their parents.

Definitely add this to your TBR for summer beach reading.

A tale of a rich Delta frat boy who dresses in brand names and a recently broken up girl who's looking for revenge on her cheating ex

Fake relationship
I liked that Ridge didn't lie to Karrie about the makeover challenge, the entire deal was laid out fully giving a sense of maturity to the mcs
The plot was pretty easy to read and I enjoyed it for the most part until the author employed the dreaded "breakup at almost the end" plot device. It was so cliched and the reason foolish with Ridge's reaction not aligning with his previous actions that it made me angry. She of course went to him and he eventually saw the error of his ways, they made up and we get a HFN ending
Ridge's mother was an utter twat, as she didn't get her comeuppance here I'm assuming it'll take place in one of the other books which are about his brothers
There was a time I thought Ridge would sleep with OW as he was drinking a lot but that didn't APPEAR to be be case
All in all a relatively easy read but I wasn't invested enough to move on immediately to the other books

New Adult(they're in college)
H got around
h's boyfriend broke up with her a few months before and she then found out he was a cheater
No cheating(I don't think)
OM drama from the ridiculous ex who made a couple of dry attempts to get the h back, nothing too bad
A slight run in with OW(The H went off with her during the breaking up period but nothing seemed to happen)

I thought this super short book was a lot of fun! Karrie and Ridge are complete opposites, which is a thing I always love. They build a plan to have a fake relationship in order to make her horrible ex-boyfriend extremely jealous, and to appease Ridge's mother for the holidays. I enjoyed the characters a lot, and this one sort of reminded me of the movie She's All That from my teenage years. This super, hot rich dude does a makeover for this plain jane girl that is already beautiful. There wasn't much to that except him buying her some fashionable clothes. I kind of wished their fake dating would have been more "fake". They started liking each other pretty quickly so that didn't last long, even though they were both not completely sure how the other felt. I also liked Ridge's younger brothers and wouldn't mind reading their stories.

When I read the blurb for this book I was a little hesitant to request it because I had the feeling that Ridge was going to be a complete manwhore and sleep with other women. Still, I decided to request the book because Bethany Lopez is the author and I love her. She is on my auto-read list. At some point, I got a little worried that he would sleep with someone else, but from what I read, he didn't.

I loved that the girls knew from the beginning about the makeover and there wasn't any drama on that front. It made the book more mature. I am guessing that the next books will be about Ridge's brothers and that's why I won't complain in this book about feeling like the plot with Ridge's mother didn't give us any closure. She is very mean and I hated her, but Ridge's younger brothers seem to still hold on to her witch was weird after everything that happened. I would like to also see Karrie's friends get a story. They were supportive and the kind of friend you want to have in your life and I loved them for that.

I liked the way Karrie and Ridge's romance was developed and overall I found the book good and easy to read. There is not a lot of drama and I loved that part since it kept things light. I would recommend the book.

4.5 Stars!

I read just about everything this author puts out. Although NA is not my jam, Karrie and Ridge came together with a pretty mature outlook on life. Those that read the Three Sister's Catering series will love this crossover. Yes! These are the previously unknown baby brothers. It's time for them to get their HEA, right!

Great banter and chemistry with Karrie and Ridge. Eyes wide open through the whole fraternity gimmick. Of course friendship soon leads to more and then BAM! Hearts are involved and everyone gets a bit edging because that was not part of the deal.

Love the brothers all together. Really liked seeing their sisters and their families again. Karrie and Ridge are just perfect for each other and I can't wait to see them in action in the next books as well.

Great start to the series!

Extremely well written with great characters. I thought Ridge was an awesome idiot for not talking his situation over but he did have a really bad start to his weekend.
I think I'm going to like Wes in his book as well.

A tit for tat agreement, what could possibly go wrong? Pesky things like feelings maybe...

What a wonderful read! Ridge became so much more than I expected him to be. I loved how Karrie grounded him - Philly sandwich anyone?! Karrie may have lost herself for a bit after a bad breakup but Ridge helps her get back to herself. What starts out as a simple agreement turns into more than expected. Will they become more or will they stick to the plan? You're going to love the banter between these characters and the friends and family (well most of the family) around them.

Great start to a new series!

Um, well this was an unexpected one day read for me. I don't think I put it down for a single second from the moment I started.

I love a good college romance and boy did this deliver in the most fun way. It was perfectly balanced with the easy conversations, the simplicity of every situation with the complexity of emotions in between.

Ridge and Kerrie meet at a great party, the ease in which they are around each other ends up helping them to help one another. With Ridge bringing up an offer to help them both out of a stump they're in, Kerrie has a hard time saying no to this handsome man.

What starts off to be very fake and a sort of friendship starts to grow into something more. The ease in how they say no words but become more and accept it was delightful to read and I couldn't have been grinning harder than I was.

The journey of both Ridge and Kerrie has me loving them so much and with their strong relationships with friends and family, even if some were avoided, was heart warming to see. It was easy to have your heart wrapped around their characters with only a few chapters in.

I loved the story and the growth in how it moved. I also enjoyed with how the story kept you on your toes, questing what would happen next. Espeicially being my first read of Bethany Lopez I can dearly say I will be grabbing more of her reads in the future.

A total must read for anyone who loves a fake relationship, college romance.

A fake relationship between a rich frat boy and a not-so-rich girl looking for revenge? Yes please!

Karrie is a sassy heroine who’s happy just the way she is and doesn’t really care what anyone else thinks. She’s still burned over the breakup with her ex four months ago.

Ridge is a rich frat boy, kind of a big deal on campus, and he’s looking to ward off his mom’s attempts at setting him up with someone he’s not interested in.

These two meet at a frat party, banter ensues, and they see a perfect opportunity to use each other. Karrie will pose as his girlfriend to make his mom stop with the matchmaking. And Ridge will play her boyfriend to make her ex jealous. Should be easy enough, right?

But when they start hanging out more and more, those sparks fly, and feelings are impossible to ignore. It was fun to see their relationship grow each time they were together - and not just their friendship, but also those tingly romantic feelings.

The author did a great job at making me fall for these characters and want to keep reading.

I really enjoyed this quick read with plenty of humor, heart, and sass. I cannot wait for the next book in the series!

**EDITED on May 22, 2020**

I just finished the audiobook of Ridge and loved it! I must say, the narrators did a much better job at reading this book to me than I did to myself! LOL

Listening to this made me fall in love all over again with Ridge & Karrie!

At the end of a rough week for me personally I was lucky to have this gem of a romance land in my lap and I was instantly captivated by the immensely appealing characters and the slow-burn romance of the main couple. Revenge may be the reason these two got together at first but it’s a deeper connection that forms that has love flourishing in a romance that put a smile on my face. From the first page to the last readers will find themselves equally enthralled by the fake relationship that becomes oh so real by the turn of the final page.

A year ago Karrie was on Cloud 9 with a softball scholarship and a boyfriend she truly loved. When he dumped her with no reason she was left angry with her self-esteem bruised. She withdrew and spent time licking her wounds, but discovering he was even more faithless than she originally thought has her wanting to exact deeper revenge. To help her do that she agrees to a fake relationship revolving around a Pledge Event put on by the Delta Frat with sexy, rich boy Ridge. It’s a relationship that takes a sensual turn in a carefree journey full of warm and fuzzy feelings. Through it all Karrie’s a very likable heroine, someone easy to relate to as she’s a straight shooter who doesn’t sugarcoat the truth. She was hurt by her ex, lost her way for a bit, but is clearly ready to put herself out there again and I enjoyed her strong will and slight snark that made her and Ridge a formidable pair. As friends, she and Ridge are fun and flirty with interactions that jumped off the page. The more time they spend together the more solid they look as a couple and the more I was rooting for them as they made each other better.

When readers first meet Ridge they may assume he’s your typical arrogant frat boy...yet that couldn’t be further from the truth. Ridge is a truly good guy, likable, with a strong sense of protectiveness towards his brothers...and towards Karrie the closer they get. His less-than-perfect past, a past with an overbearing mother more concerned with appearances and an abusive chronic-adulterer father, has nurtured that protective side and the glimpses we see of it here endeared him to me. His main concern is for his brothers, and with the youngest starting college next year he doesn’t have to deal with his parents much longer. One of the few remaining events is the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday that has his mother matchmaking and him coming up with a plan to keep her out of his life. His plan is to bring a fake girlfriend home...and meeting Karrie at his frat’s party has her the perfect partner in crime as they’ll be helping each other get exactly what they want. He needs a fake girlfriend, and a way to overthrow his frat’s president, while she wants to make her ex jealous and show how far she’s moved on. From the moment he sees Karrie there’s clearly a connection, no subterfuge between them as they’re both very honest with each other as they grow from friends to something deeper. Throughout their journey Ridge is a delightful hero with unexpected layers beyond his rich boy facade. He may be clueless a time or two but on a whole I found him to be a hero with a big heart and caring soul and I loved how perfect he was with Karrie, showing her her true worth while she showed him that there was more to him than his money and his looks.

With each turn of the page I found a little bit more to love. From the crackling banter, exhilarating interactions, to the carefree flow of the story, the main couple’s journey of friends to true partners is one that kept me utterly entertained. Ridge and Karrie are an unforgettable pairing, each giving as good as they get, supporting each other no matter what in a romance full of heart and soul. Surrounding this likable main couple was an equally appealing cast of secondary characters that have me excited for the future. Ridge’s brothers Wes and Brody had a difficult upbringing too and it’s clear that they have bruises still lingering and I wanted to hug all three for everything they’ve survived. Ridge is a good brother to them and it spoke volumes to me just how protective he is of them and it made him an even stronger hero. I was also drawn to the three sisters Ridge has discovered as his father’s infidelities become even more known. The sisters are equally likable and just as strong-willed as seen in the series of books already written about them and the glimpses readers get of them here. One last character that I found delightful was Karrie’s roommate Mina, a sassy heroine who tells it like it is and who’s a good cheerleader for Karrie’s fake relationship. I hope to see more of her as the sizzling interaction between her and Trap is more than obvious. Readers looking for a sensual and charming New Adult romance will get all that and more courtesy of this unforgettable main couple and their slow-burn journey to HEA.

This was a good book and made me think about falling in love when I was young. Karrie is a sweet, loving girl who was crushed when her boyfriend of a year broke up with her at college. She has a great roommate that looks out for her. When her roommate talks her in to going to a Delta party she meets a hot guy named Ridge. The two’s upbringing couldn’t be more different, but the two plot together for a united cause. It was fun watching the two get to really know each other. I loved that they found things about themselves they would have never know without each other. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.

Wow, I truly loved this! The storytelling in this is fantastic. I was sucked right into the story from the very first page.

I loved these characters so much. I connected with Karrie's character straight away and Ridge's character spoke to me immediately. They both came from different backgrounds which have molded them into who they are. They both had a lot of depth and felt absolutely real. They both showed character growth both internally and with each other.

The romance was ever so delightful! The chemistry between these two was seriously killer. It was so effortless and real. I adored how much of a gentleman Ridge was with Karrie. Even though they both knew that what they were doing was fake, he always showed her respect and consideration. I also loved how Karrie was always straight with Ridge and wasn't afraid to speak her mind. She called him on his crap and didn't let his status on campus affect her. And I have to mention that the gifts that Ridge gets for Karrie were so wonderful. He really got her things that he knew she would adore instead of cliche gifts like candy and jewelry. It melted my heart that he knew her so well and wanted to show her how much he cared with the special gifts.

The plot is a fake romance trope that is written incredibly well. It is a slow-burn romance that develops beautifully through the course of their fake romance. There was enough conflict in the story to raise the stakes and make the story compelling. I liked all the little things within the story that balanced it out. I especially loved seeing the family aspects of the story. Karrie has a great family that is very close and their interactions were wonderful. While Ridge's mother and father were awful, his extended family, sisters from his father's first marriage, were incredible. I would love to see them again in future books.

Overall, this book is truly a gem of a read! I devoured this book in a handful of hours and I am so ready for the next book in this series! I am hoping that we get Wes and Brody's stories and I would also love to hear Mina and Trap's story. If you enjoy fake romance tropes then you have to read this one!

When I think of Frat guys, I think they are going to be total douche bags with no respect. But Ridge wasn't completely like that. He had a wall up around him and for good reasons to. There was a character who was an a** but he didn't over take the story. Which I loved that he got put into his place.

A ruse at a the Delta frat house will bring together Ridge and Karrie. They made a pact to help one another but fate has other things in store for them. I loved how Karrie stayed true to herself and put Ridge in his place. Their story is one of a kind and is definitely a must read.

I am so happy that we got to see Millie, Dru and Tasha. I've missed them and I hope we get to see more of the trio in the Frat House Confession series. I am looking forward to reading Wes and Brody's stories. I can't wait to see what Bethany has in stored for them.

Frat House Confessions: Ridge by Bethany Lopez is the first book in her new series, Frat House Confessions. This is a fake relationship story with a bit of revenge and a whole lot of chemistry. Karrie is looking for revenge and Ridge needs to get his mom off his back. They agree they can help each other and leave it at that. But as they spend time together, things may not be as fake as both thought.

Karrie’s last relationship ended badly and that is putting it mildly. But she is okay with who she is now, but a little revenge never hurt anyone. Ridge is popular, smart and sexy and wants his mother to stop her match-matching ways. I love their banter and interactions so much. The story was fun and charming.

Holy smokes, I loved this book. Rich frat boy (who has a whole different side to him that’s unexpected) + quiet athlete (who is also sexy and sassy and is unexpected in her own right) = one steamy, swoony, complex story. Ridge and Karrie start out by faking a relationship for various benefits, but it quickly morphs into something more than just pretending to be boyfriend and girlfriend. It’s messy, it’s complicated...but it’s also adorable, and hot, and so much deeper than I was expecting. I can’t wait to read the other books in the series! This one was fantastic from start to finish.

What a fun, quick read!! This book had everything I’m looking for. It was fun, sexy and sweet with just a touch of drama that wasn’t over blown. Ridge was such a good guy from the get go. I love that Karrie wasn’t your typical book girl of either super hot or a dopey quiet doormat. She was a softball player with curves and muscle who didn’t give a damn if she had on sweats and her hair in a messy bun.

YAY! Such a fun book. Love the premise of taking the rough rock and making it shine! Throw in some fun Frat House parties and you have the perfect book. Such a great story behind all of the fun, falling in love when you do not even realize it! Facing your past and making the decision to not let it mess with your future, grabbing the bull by the horns and professing your feelings! Cannot wait for more from the Frat House!

I totally heart Ridge and Karrie. They balance each other and build each other up.

This story has a little bit of a twist on the fake relationship trope and I loved it.

I think one of my favorite parts is how Ridge ends up thinking outside of the box when it comes to Karrie.
