"It's always going to be this way, Kelse, you know that, right? No matter where you are or who you're with, you're always going to be mine."
We could be apart for years and I know as soon as I see him again I would fall straight back into his arms because I have no choice, he's claimed a part of me and there's no going back. I'm only eighteen, but young love is the most treacherous, it's the worst kind of love...it consumes you, all of you, claims you, makes you do crazy things you never thought you would do, and there's no escape.
Find out what happens after Kelsey is kidnapped from prom in this novella - First Time Blues #6.
This book is part of the Blue Raspberry Series and it is recommended that you read them in order as the chapters continue into each book. A novella, approx 22k words.
First off Blue Raspberry is a completed series and I read them back to back so my review is the same for all of them because it’s encompassing.
So this series starts off as a contemporary YA/NA romance and as the main characters get older some of the scenes get more explicit. There’s 13 books in the series that feature some raw situations and I found that with each book ending I was hooked and needed to get into the next. It is fortunate that each book isn’t particularly long but written well enough that I didn’t feel like something was missing. I will say up until the last two books you will see that there is a continual back and forth pattern.
Kelsey and Mitchel’s story is a roller coaster and for the most part I find their toxic relationship frustrating because it’s alway back and forward between them and so many others get involved; it’s a mess.
Overall as a series I would give it a 4 out of 5 ⭐️ rating. They each brought a lot of feeling to the surface, I have laughed, cried and been frustratingly annoyed with some of the characters and the only reason why it’s not a 5 for me is because some it was too repetitive the characters weaknesses were played on a bit heavy for example Colt was way too forgiving, Kelsey and Mitchel both had this need to hurt each other and play on each other’s insecurities and by the end of the series I was still left with questions: - what happen to Silas (I’m assuming he’s dead but could be wrong) he’s just gone ! - now I can read between the lines but I’m guessing it’s Paige and Boston right? What happens in their story? - JT and Nessie are a package deal too what made her decide to be with him; how did this happen
Otherwise I loved the series but would really like to read some spin offs about the other characters.
