The style (in Spanish) is quite bad: it reads as a Wikipedia entry. The scenes and characters look like stereotypes from American series, and the writer seems to have little personal knowledge of the topic. 1 star is too harsh, but I would rate it 1.5 if I could.
To give an example: the whole staff, of a university with 40000 students, is totally devastated by the death of two. They don't mourn for them, or feel sorry, no, they are devastated. The rector steps down because of it. And these feelings of devastation are repeated throughout the book. One of the main characters cannot be mentioned on a page without the addition of how bad she feels. And the society of Cataluña lives in the worst state of fear ever. That's just not believable.
Furthermore, the writer uses an extraordinary amount of words to describe everything, but is not detailed in her descriptions at all. The parents of one of the dead girls don't feel like eating, fine, but why write, well, all that? It doesn't add anything of interest.
Not recommended.
