The revealing autobiography of former footballer Emile Heskey. One of Leicester's favourite sons, he moved on from City to Liverpool in an £11 million deal, winning a total of eight trophies and over 60 England caps. Even Heskey Scored is the story of a largely unsung player, loved by his team-mates, who overcame fierce criticism to live the dream.
Nice easy read. Some autobiographies can get bogged down with their upbringing but Emile doesn’t make you feel like that here. He doesn’t bang on about how great he was and his book is like his career, just gets on with it and no fuss. Like he points out, he kept himself to himself.
There is no juicy gossip here, just a nice trip down memory lane of the career of a great player.
The book was a nice easy read, a guided our of Heskeys career and achievements. Its not going to grab sensational headlines but it will be a good read and his relaxed and likeable personality comes through with the stories told.
Leicester's favourite son who runs readers through a successful career. Very good on summarising the elite players he was alongside, especially England internationals. Steve Guppy comes out well.
