There's some good material in this volume, but it seems to be written by someone 16 years old. While reading you can almost hear the gum being chewed! Also, reading on a kindle, the illustrations are a little tough to handle. I do intend to go through this book again to see what else I can glean from it. My apologies to the author for the rating, She made too many assumptions about the learning curve later on in the book.
I started out many years ago as a batch programmer with room sized computers, tape drives, punch cards, etc. so I feel a little bewildered by the exponential growth that has occurred. My first desktop was an IBM SX55 with a hard drive of 60 mh! with msdos and Windows 3!
Just a few words about recent releases of Windows! Windows XP was fine for me, it did what I told it to do and not what it wanted. Or putting it another way, what it thought that you wanted. Extremely confusing for us old f**ts But, then again, I still use an old flip phone....
