I kind of loved it!!
College days...all memories come to our mind about friends, mates, strict professors and what not. We are flown back in those days living them once again. If you wish to experience one such college life, here you go.
Well, this book is not an intellectual read nor a work of wisdom rather an interesting tale of romance, friendship, enmity and all those quarrels of college days that make us laugh out loud today. Inspired largely from the lives of three college boys who have come from hinterland for their higher education in prospect of superior education and promising futures. They has diverse dreams and ideas of life along with a quest to succeed. As the story unfolds these boys get more engrossed in trivial matters while facing interesting challenges in their life....girls..but not to blame this is what happened in college days of most of us.
To detail with this story outlines questions that an adolescent mind puts up: what if...; what do I look like ....; I am worth of her/ him are discussed in a subtle manner. On a serious tone, struggles faced by the young minds due to shortage of finance, resources and sometimes the necessity of becoming the bread winer of house are discussed in a dramatic manner. You may need to read it with a heavy heart. The sharp distinction between the rural and urban India is expressed through simple conversations and interactions that makes it evident. On the contrary the attempts of the rural children in Sanskritizing by learning the urban way of life....their quest for being the urban gentlemen...the innocent mistakes made in this process... and finally learning that they could have been their better selves are few major highlights of the novel. One can really enjoy these parts of the novel thoroughly.
On the low point, this novel goes moves little quick at few places missing the continuity; the author seems to rush in at few places. At the same time, the lead character is hard to decipher...a vacillating personality but may be that was the demand of the novel.
The end is left left open ended for enlarging the inquiries of the readers but leaving them something to delve upon with. There are many angles to this story put in serials but one can find their own read material out of it. Just get a grab of it if you are a novel lover. For the non-Hindi readers I had like to mention that this is not the complex use of Hindi literature....so basic Hindi knowledge will make this an easy read.

This is the best college life story I have ever read. You name it, the novel has it. Humor, emotions, love, ambition, friendship, friendzoneship, romance and.... Its a combination of all. Best part of story is that the relationship between the protagonist and both girls is open ended and personally I think that the girl was friendzoning all the time...it wasn't love. But it's up to writer to chose which way the boy will go. He had to chose between his career and girl and he made a wise decision...rest was fate...But over all, it's a good break from those IIT ,IIM novels and it's a realistic small town fresh story...

After reading the book , I kinda feel to share my honest reviews for this "new generation hindi Masterpiece " . First of all a big salute to the author for summing up one's best phase of life with the best memories in less than 250 pages , I reckon that truly requires an unbelievable art of writing and moreover taking the readers to the other world .

Talking about the essential idea of the book , how a struggle can nurtured an innocent village boy to a successful man and what it feels like a true love in teenage and past that?
A love story yet an inspirational one to tell you success doesn't come easy and the book has all those struggling phase faced by a boy to be an income tax officer .

Perfect combination of humor and emotions with the great touch of sarcastic replies of a boy who always afraid to express his love to her crush as the title suggested he think of himself as a "dehati ladka " who can never get loved by the big city gorgeous girl.

The twist in the plot is so good that you gonna end up asking where the hell is the second part of this book ?

Boy Connection to his family could have been more sound and explanatory specially the fact why he felt so alone in the big city and looking for someone closer whom he can share and talk. Otherwise , A good book to read and enjoy .

#mustread

Enjoyable, sarcastic, relatable and vague.

The story is very interesting. As you start to read, you connect with it instantly. The writing style is very enjoyable and sarcastic. The reader enjoys the story, although it is very normal.

The only bad thing is that the story has become vague many times. The reader is unable to understand, what exactly happened. It is like the writer does not want to reveal the real story, which confuses the reader. Also, the ending is very vague.

If you are looking for an interesting enjoyable light read like Chentan Bhagat in Hindi, then you can read it.

An amazing book that tells the story of Rajrajat Chauhan who after completing his schooling moves to Lucknow for higher studies. He faces lots of cultural differences and has tried hard to adjust to big cities boys and girls. The struggles of Rajat are similar to every other boy or girl who leaves their village and comes to the big city to make their future bright.
In his journey of adjustment and learning he made some amazing friends like Yuvan, Shashank, and Prerna.
Some of his friends supported him while few betrayed him.

I finished this book on audibles. It is actually a book full of humour nostalgic moments from college and a nice and light story.
But the best part is the narration done by Neeraj yadav, who has added a magic to it, you can actually visualise the book, and live the moments hearing his narration.
