This is a cute, little book- and I mean that quite literally as it's only 19 x 16cm in size.
The instructions are clear. Multiple options are explained for marking / pattern transfer so you can suit yourself or the project or the materials.
The projects are divided between make and mend. The make projects range in size and difficulty from tiny wardrobe scent sachets to large floor cushions, and includes turmeric dyeing. The mend section covers patching, darning, relining collars and cuffs, applique, and needle weaving (note: they are all visible mends which may not be to everyone's taste).
In the back pages are 18 sashiko style patterns, and a further set of diagrams and instructions for marking them out and stitching them.
A nice introduction to sashiko, but the book also goes beyond this one technique.
