Buckle up for an out-of-this-world rollercoaster ride in "Superstellar" by Suz Korb! Join Stella Andromeda Sunne, a starry-eyed dreamer whose love for the cosmos goes beyond her parents' astrophysics credentials. With her heart set on exploring the great beyond, Stella's fascination with the universe is further fueled by her enigmatic visits to her grandad's house. But little does she know that her celestial dreams are about to rocket into reality in the most astonishing way. Picture Stella's world turns topsy-turvy when her mother's daring lab experiment accidentally tears a rift in the fabric of space, unleashing a portal that draws in a full-fledged spaceship from the cosmos! Imagine the shock on Stella's face when she finds herself not just staring at the stars but hurtling through the stars on an intergalactic escapade. But wait, who's that clinging to her like a cosmic barnacle? None other than her mischievous little brother, along for the whirlwind ride! As Stella adjusts to her newfound life as a spacefaring adventurer, she quickly realizes that the universe is even wackier than she ever imagined. Brace yourself for encounters with aliens of all shapes and sizes, including an ironically sizzling-hot ice king sporting tentacle hair that defies gravity itself. And that's not all—prepare to be amazed by space elves with a penchant for life-altering stunts, and an assortment of challenges that would make even the bravest astronaut's helmet spin. But hold on to your laser guns, because Stella's cosmic journey doesn't stop at extraterrestrial hijinks. The universe drops a cosmic-sized bombshell on she's been chosen to save every darn species in the entire galaxy. No pressure, right? With her family by her side, her laser guns locked and loaded, and an eccentric cast of alien allies, Stella is ready to tackle the challenge head-on. Get ready for a supernova of laughter, a meteor shower of thrills, and a constellation of heartwarming connections as Stella navigates through the cosmos, guided by her unshakable determination and fueled by the bonds of family and friendship. Will she rise to the occasion and fulfill her cosmic destiny, or will she be lost in the void of space's strangest surprises? The answer lies among the stars, and Stella Andromeda Sunne is ready to shine brighter than any constellation in the galaxy!

This book is as loopy as one of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy books, but with the added bonus of hot Alien Kings and strangely intelligent teenagers! Romantic and fun, this should appeal to anyone with a well developed sense of humour.

My favourite line of the book?
"I know I'm a hot babe, but it's a curse when every king in the universe wants to bloody well marry you."

If you are a fan of John Dies In The End or any of the books in that series, but you thought, "What would that book be like if there wasn't swearing, the main character was a girl, and it was in outer space instead?" This is for you. This isn't the Pride and Prejudice of science fiction. It's a funny, very lighthearted space adventure with a total babe lead that may or may not have a reverse harem. For what this book is trying to be, it nails it. The are minor grammar and formating issues, but nothing that gets in the way of a really fun, and quick read.
