When falling is easy, people often forget about the crash.

The time has finally come for Marcus Guzzi to step into his birthright. He’s the firstborn—the next boss to take over his family’s mafia and he’s never been more ready. With an MC encroaching on Guzzi territory, family expectations following him, and more responsibility on his shoulders than ever, what’s one more thing added to his ever-growing list of duties when his father asks for a favor? He just didn’t expect that favor to bring with it a woman he can’t ignore.

Cella Marcello is a lot of things. Single mother. Daughter of a former New York Underboss. A highly sought-after interior designer. Widow. The one thing she’s learned about life after all that’s happened in hers? It keeps moving on, and so does she. When a contract for a penthouse design takes her to Toronto, she isn’t ready for the gorgeously dangerous man waiting there to make sure she has everything she needs. Even if the thing she needs is him.

Marcus is everything she never wanted before now. He wasn’t even looking for someone like her. When the traumas of the past take center stage, these two will need to decide if the chance at forever is worth the risk.

Honestly, reading about Marcus Guzzi and how he found his happy ending was bittersweet. Not only was he the last Guzzi son to find his happy, the next in line to be Boss, the one woman who could make him complete was also the last daughter of the Marcello family to remain single. So in a way, a sad and yet oh so happy way, the author was wrapping up two legacies and it both broke my heart and made me freaking ecstatic!

🎶 How do I say goodbye to what we had?
The good times that made us laugh
Outweigh the bad
🎶

Marcus Guzzi was the eldest son of Gian Guzzi, the underboss, the only sibling without a twin, and basically a carbon copy of his father. There was never any doubt he'd take over la famiglia once his father took a step back and he'd looked after his siblings for forever because 'family first'. He put everyone before himself and yet when the opportunity for more in his life came, he couldn't resist. His attraction to Cella was almost like an obsession. What seemed important before paled in her presence. He easily fell in love with her, her daughter, and the life that they could have together. He just had to convince her.

Just because he's a made man doesn't mean he doesn't have feelings here. So while you figure out what you want, please remember that there are more people than just you in the equation. - Lucian

Cella Marcello was a character I'd broken my heart over already. I remember when her husband died. I remember how his death further fractured her relationship with my bae, John. I think the author did a brilliant job of showing how she dealt with that pain and learned to live again, for herself and for little Tiffany. While it didn't go too deep, the steps she made, full of such pain, were impossible to ignore. Her grief was like a living and breathing entity and it was no small thing for her to survive and then thrive. Cella became such a beautiful person and I couldn't help but cheer her on while she found a new love. She made mistakes along the way, but that was to be expected because she was still afraid. It made her breathtakingly human and made her story that much more worthwhile.

I will admit that my absolute favorite character in this story was Tiffany. Bethany-Kris created such a sweetheart of a child who made me smile like a bleeding fool at my kindle. The relationship she developed with Marcus just made me swoon harder for him and tipped the scales on how I would rate this book. It was all too easy to give Marcus's story all the stars!!

Absolutely loved it. They say all good things come to those that wait, and the wait for Marcus was definitely worth it. Gah that man is his dad through and through and Gian has had me swooning since I first read his duet.

Marcus was everything I'd hoped he would be and then some - mafioso through and through. He found the perfect partner in Cella, I was worried she was going to jerk him around but nope, she was fabulous - the best heroine in this series so far bar Cara.

A gorgeous end to the series, even though the authors note at the end about broke my heart, I really don't ever want to say goodbye to the Commission world, though at least we have two more books to look forward to .... Cory's and Pink's. Then what the hell am I going to do for my mafia fix?

AHHH!! Bethany Kris just delivered the most amazing Guzzi book in the series!! I have been dying for Marcus Guzzi's book and getting to the heart of the most  intriguing and mysterious Guzzi. And honestly? HE.WAS.EVERY.DAMN.THING in the world!! Cella was just perfect for him. A young widow and a mafia Principessa herself, she was hardened by the Casa Nostra life but could not stop herself from falling in love with him if she tried. GAH!!! THIS STORY WAS PHENOMENAL!!

There is honestly no one like Marcus Guzzi. His understated dominance, dedication and love for his family and his open heart just won me over. I DIE FOR HIM. Lord. I didn't think Kris could top Beni and Bene but she did. Marcus is on another level. Breaking his iron clad control and restraint because for Cella was a beautiful thing to see. She knew how to break through to the heart of the man and I loved every minute of it. I especially loved Marcus' capacity to love and his relationship with Tiffany. My swoons and sighs could be heard from miles away. Overall, this was the most amazing conclusion to the Guzzi series and I am for one will reread this series forever. This is Bethany Kris at her best! 5 stars! ~Ratula

Marcus, the sixth and final book in the Guzzi Legazy series, is a steamy and emotional mafia romance. Bethany-Kris consistently writes characters with emotional depth and storylines that are both captivating and authentic. This was a story of loss, healing, and the power of unwavering love. Marcus and Cella are two people on different sides of the mafia world who form an unexpected yet inexplicable connection with each other.

"I couldn't hurt your heart-wouldn't even try. Besides, I might like to keep it."

Marcus is such an amazing character, and I've been really looking forward to reading his story. He is the caretaker of the family, always looking out for his brothers and putting the family and his duty first. He exudes confidence and control in everything he does, yet he allowed Cella to see more than what others did. I loved how sweet and caring he was with both Cella and Tiffany, and the patience and understanding he showed both of them was incredible. Cella was a great character as well. She went through some rough things in life but forged on for the sake of her daughter, strong and resilient. Her walls were built pretty high but I loved how Marcus worked to break them down. I really enjoyed everything about the way the two of them came together. That instant spark was electric and led to some great tension. Their relationship progressed and grew in a way that was both realistic and engaging. The intimacy between them was incredibly hot, as Marcus ruled the bedroom with as much intensity as he ruled his business.

"'You're going to kill me, Marcus Guzzi.'

He flashed a grin. 'I'll go down with you.'"

The plot of Marcus flowed perfectly and the storyline included everything I love about this author’s books: suspense, angst, sizzling hot sex, and a beautiful love story between two fantastic characters. The book wraps up the Guzzi Legacy series perfectly. This was a stellar series with unforgettable characters, and Bethany-Kris proved once again why she is a powerhouse in this genre.

5 “Everything” Stars

This author has done it again. She drags me into a world that I absolutely adore and once again delivers a romance filled with passion, heat, emotionality, and amazing family dynamics.

Marcus is the last Guzzi brother and the oldest to find his soulmate. He’s busy with la famiglia and just taking care of others. But when Marcus get reintroduced to Cella Marcello and her daughter Tiffany, a spark begins. Watching these two carefully navigate a relationship is heartwarming and endearing. It’s not an easy road as Marcus is positioned to become The Boss and Cella must decide if her heart can risk love again with someone like Marcus.

I also loved that the author gave us family time with both the Guzzi and Marcello families. As families are important and vital to both, their interactions were poignant and sentimental. And because of Cella’s past, the story was emotional as well.

I will say that Marcus was a the perfect conclusion to the Guzzi series. And I must also gush because the epilogue was just the best ever!! I smiled and I cried and felt complete. What can I say, I’m just a Guzzi-Marcello loving fan. Thank you Bethany-Kris for creating families that I adore and will want to go back and revisit from time to time.

I am actually sad that this series is coming to end but, we really loved being on the ride all the way through this entire series, and this final book with Marcus's and Cella story was a perfect ending to it all.

Out of the entire series, it was hard to pick a favorite couple first choice though would be Gian and Cara but, my second favorite would be Marcus's story as this story was so heartfelt and emotional and one that really engaged the reader's emotions.

I always tend to pick a favorite character, and mine this time around would be Marcus. I loved Marcus from the onset of the story. We found him to be tall, dark, dangerous, sexy, loving. We loved the fact that what he was looking for in a mate or relationship is what his parents had. Not only that, but we also loved that the fact that he always put Cella and her needs before his own and considering he was the top Don of a Mafia family, that told you right there that he had found something special. We loved how Cella brought out a different side of Marcus that he kept locked away. I loved too how he loved Cella's daughter as if she was his own child from the onset of meeting her as she was really a special kind of child full of love and goodness, and we loved that sassy little girl, and she was a lot of fun to read about.

Cella we found to be beautiful and sweet, kind, loving, and a knockout and full of talent and a wonderful mother and one who experienced a lot of pain for someone so young.Cella's character made us feel her pain and what this poor woman was experiencing, and we envy the love she bore her husband and her.Cella was a special kind of woman that when you found her, you would do everything in your power to keep her.

Overall we love this story from beginning to end as it had a cast of wonderful characters, suspense, romance, and a family who loves their families as deeply as they love their women. This story was also had a lot of hotness and sexiness to it, and Marcus's & Cella's chemistry together was just scorching hot!

*** 4 I'll go down with you Stars ***

Marcus is the sixth and final book in the Guzzi Legacy. This intense romantic suspense novel was packed with unexpected twists that evoke an endless, unfathomable amount of heart-wrenching emotions. So sad to see the Guzzi Legacy come to a close, yet a new chapter awaits.

Marcus Guzzi. A man of few words. Groomed from birth to follow in his fathers footsteps. Born to rule as Capo for the Guzzi family and build the legacy name. Marcus became the man everyone feared, and will scour every empire in his way. Cruel and calculated there will be blood. Always steadfast. Forever in control. That is the mafia way.

Cella is lost, empty, and hollow. Her world will forever be tainted red, after the death of her husband. Born a mafia principessa, she wished for a life outside of the famiglia. Only for it to catch up with her and kill the man she loved. Widowed and broken, she saw no light at the end of the tunnel. Her saving grace was her daughter, Tiffany.

The day of her husband's burial she meets Marcus Guzzi, her salvation.

These two cross paths once more, and sparks fly. Yet,Cella fears the unknown and of the past repeating itself once more. She doesn't want to let Marcus in her heart only to have him be buried six feet under. In the mafia life, loyalty and family means everything to the Guzzi's.

"'You're going to kill me, Marcus Guzzi.'

He flashed a grin. 'I'll go down with you.'"

Early on Marcus felt unworthy of Cella and her daughter Tiffany. Yet, he found the love of his life in the most unexpected places. It goes to show you that love does indeed make you stronger. Their story, though challenging and risky, is one of the most beautiful I have ever read. Bethany-Kris once again puts us under her spell with this alluring and sensual novel that concludes the end of the Guzzi Legacy.

The long awaited Marcus did not let me down in any way. He was everything. A little Gian, but still very much his own man, and stepping into the role he was born for. But along with the crown came all it's responsibility and trouble. I loved him so much. The way he took care of his family, that he took no disrespect from anyone without answering it in a way that made it clear he was not to be messed with. And when it came to Cella, she was everything he wanted, so he gave her everything that she needed.
Cella, heartbroken, but still strong. Trying not to stay in the past, but also a little afraid to move on. Could she let someone in her heart again, into her daughter's life? The part I liked most about her was that her reactions, her thoughts, her pain was so easy to relate to. She wanted to protect herself and her daughter from one more person being taken from them, but she also had this amazing man saying and doing all the right things.
I let myself get too comfortable in the romance and then the action came and slapped me in the face. But like I said, Marcus was not to be trifled with, and that was made perfectly clear before the book was finished. I loved seeing things from Gian and Cara's story in this book, and also how Marcus felt about this role that had always been his, but had now became a lot more real. Seeing the other Guzzi men and what was going on in their lives a few years later was the icing on the cake. This book, this series, was everything.

So da** good....

I loved the ending to this series spinoff but, at the same time, hate that it is all over. The Marcellos and Guzzis have raged and loved through all kinds of ups and downs that could only happen in a family.... Did you need to read the previous stories in this series? No, but you really need to...

It was appropriate I think that Cella and Marcus brought everything to a close. They met at one of the worst moments in her life. Little did they know they would reconnect years later and light a fire that would upend both their lives. Cella was a widowed mom and gave her daughter all the love she had left. Marcus was all about work and family so he respected her commitment to both. Even as she had him distracted for the first in, well, ever. It was heated, romantic, and fun with Tiff at the center of their unexpected romance.

This story, like all that came before it, was all that good reading is. Each character was unique, always intriguing and ready to take on any situation head on. Whether it was family or famiglia, there was always something interesting, deadly or lively going on. Sometimes all three! Family at the core - whether parents, siblings or kids - there was support, cajoling and teasing. Most of all there was love and protection...

I didn't want to turn that last page. Not. One. Little. Bit. Happily, I will be starting back at the beginning as a re-read is a must. I want, need, to feel all those emotions one more time...

I look forward to each and every Bethany-Kris book that lands on my iPad because it’s a given that each book will be a good one. Here, the impending drama was evident well before it hit the page. Be prepared to swept up in a heartwarming romance that leaves you on the edge of your seat.

Cella and Marcus connected instantly. They are perfect for each other. His gentleness and patience matched her level headed approach to life. He switched between business and pleasure with ease. Cella’s maturity to adapt to his world made her look regal. Neither could afford to commit to the wrong person.

Their romance encaptured all I adore in Bethany-Kris’ Commission World. Cella knew exactly what life with Marcus would entail. It was barely a consideration for her to entertain the moment she fell under Marcus’ charm.

Marcus, ever the thoughtful man, considered Cella’s daughter, Tiffany, just as important as Cella. The sweet little girl melted my heart. She was quite the little Miss without being obnoxious! Her presence demanded that Marcus and Cella steamed up the room whenever they got alone time!

The Guzzi clan cameos added a dimension to Marcus and his place within the family business. I loved how they challenged him while giving him their utmost support. Marcus showed the boys in leather that there’s a world of difference between them and a Guzzi man in his suit. He exuded power and played his opponents skillfully without them realising they were way out of his league.

The epilogue blew me away! The conversations that took place were priceless. I am hoping that Tiffany’s chatting continues beyond this book and compels Bethany-Kris to tell her story.

I just loved this book, and I already have my favorite Guzzi: Marcus stole my heart from beginning to end and it was impossible not to cheer for him, Cella and little Tiffany!

Marcus has just taken the place of one of my favorite anti hero that author Bethany-Kris has ever written. He is dangerous, ruthless, violent to his enemies and loving, protective is caring for those he loves. I loved seeing him find the balance between being the new Capo of his family while falling in love with Cella. And Cella was her perfect match, she's strong, brave, smart and I loved seeing the relationship between these two unfold. Of course the addition of little Tiffany here would only make me fall in love with her and the family they were forming.

In the matter Mafia, I thought that although there was still something related happening this aspect was in the background of the story and its plot was smaller than the other books of this author, but it did not bother me because the love story between Cella and Marcus really captivated me completely. My favorite book from this series by far and that came to close with gilding the story of the Guzzi brothers

This book was perfect. Just perfect. Seriously. Marcus Guzzi is Gian’s twin. They are so similar it’s crazy.

I can’t believe this was the last book in the Guzzi Legacy Series. I have been waiting for Marcus’s story for what seems like an eternity! I love Cella and I can’t image what she went through losing her husband with a babe.

The character development in this books is crazy good. That’s one thing I love about BKs books is that the men and women both have their struggles and that’s shown.

Marcus stepping into the role of Boss is such a journey and seeing how he does it is just amazing.

Cella in this book is what pulled at my heart. Seeing her struggle and come to terms even all these years later once she meets someone was heart breaking. Healing can be painful. There is one scene where she is driving home and just pulls off the road and calls Lucian to come get her. He gets in the car and she just screams. Just screams to get all the emotions out. It was powerful.

Marcus was perfect. Everything about it was perfect. The author is perfect. The BEST way to end 2019 is with this release.

Marcus is the eldest of the Guzzi children. And as such, he will someday head The Family. He's known for his control. His ruthlessness. Then he meets Cella again and suddenly his once structured world is changing when she and her beautiful daughter come into his orbit.

I honestly wasn't sure how Marcus' story would play out. I knew from Corrado, Bene, Beni and Chris' stories that I already liked him, even though he came across as a bit stoic and dour. But here in his story, I fell in love with him hard. He's my favorite Guzzi actually and the way he took care of the people he loved is what set him apart from all the other Guzzi offspring. Cella is the perfect match for him. She and her precocious, beautiful daughter.

I've so loved getting to know the Guzzis and I'm so glad Bethany saved the very best story and the very best Guzzi for last!

This is the first book I read from the new Guzzi brothers series. I read the plot for all of them and decided this is more my style so I started with this one.

It was good. What I like about Bethany’s writing and stories in general is that she does not usually go onto the very dark side of things (I can’t handle those - I don’t wanna handle those - I made the mistake of trying some and I’ve had enough abused woman with Stockholm syndrome scenarios to last me a lifetime, I want real romance set within the confines of several crime families and their operations).

I love how in her books, women are very independent and not being puppeteered by their male relatives or romantic interests and are not treated like china dolls and locked away because duh everyone will get in their pants otherwise loool - in all seriousness though, that's the plot of several dark themed mafia romance books.

Back to the point at hand, Bethany creates healthy (as much as possible considering the criminal background) mutually beneficial and respectful relationships which I love.

This book was just that and I loved it. It did not have a wow factor but it was solid and memorable as a good read for the genre.

The couple we have I this book, is solid, I liked them both individually and together. The storylines packed some action, some emotional scenes as well as some steamy ones. It was perfect blend.

The 6th and final book for the Guzzi family, we follow Marcus, the first born Guzzi son and Cella Marcello, a widowed single mother of a beautiful and sweet girl named Tiffany. With only reading a few pages in, I know I was going to be in love with this book. This hands down has to be my favorite book in the series. The way that Bethany-Kris wrote these two characters is phenomenal, they have such a genuine connection and feelings toward each other. I can feel it jump off the page. Marcus is such a family man, he is responsible, strong (physical and mentally), loving, kind, passionate, and oh so very handsome. Cella is strong, beautiful, smart and has such a great heart. It’s been years since her husband as passed but yet she is still heartbroken over his death. She wants to move on with her life, but like how anyone in her position would be, is scared of the change and scared of getting hurt again. I just feel like Marcus and Cella are such relatable characters. Their road wasn’t an easy one to walk down, but they made every second worth it. Watching their love story unfold was such a beautiful one. But don’t let me forget to tell you how adorable Marcus’s interactions with Tiffany is. Both of them warm up to another very quickly and they have an instant connection with each other and find it very easy to talk with one another.

Hands down this is the best book in this series, there is no doubt about it for me. It’s sweet and sexy and give you a slightly different spin in the Mafia world.

Solid ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ star read!!

The oldest son of the Costa Nostra family, Marcus, is set to take over the family. The only son with out a wife. That is until Cella walks into his parents penthouse to redecorate it as a surprise for his mom.

Cella never wanted to be with a made man. Her husband had been a lawyer but shortly after the birth of their daughter, Tiffany, he had been murdered. Cella moved through life with her heart behind a wall. That is until she meets Marcus and falling for him was the easiest thing.

Let me start by saying... oh my heart!!! Nothing is more beautiful than being a single mom and finding that someone who not only loves but your child also. Marcus although a made man, the boss, he is an absolute gentleman. He puts Cella and Tiffany's needs above his own. Not only did they both fall so fast and hard for eachother but Tiffany also. They made a family together through all the distance, past ghosts, and the business. I enjoyed this story immensely.

I’ve probably said this about each and every book hero Bethany-Kris has written. Marcus is so swoon-worthy. Gian and Cara Guzzi raised those boys right! The level of respect and loyalty they have for one another is out of this world. Marcus finished off the Guzzi Legacy Book perfectly. The chemistry between Marcus and his leading lady, Cella had me in all the feels. It was nice to see man who is the most serious out of the Guzzi Boys stripped bare when with Cella. He let his guard down for her which showed me he was so much like his dad. Despite the ruthlessness of his position it was held separate from his personal life.

The author is one of a kind. BK takes mafia romance and shows life beyond all the crime, bloodshed, violence, etc. She focuses on the character behind the status and how family, loyalty and love make up the person they are. That is what makes her books stand apart from other mafia reads.

Bethany-Kris has delivered another golden masterpiece! Marcus is now my favourite Guzzi Boy...so much like Gian...LOVE HIM!!! The way he treated Cella like the queen she was born to be, and how he interacted with Tiffany just made my ovaries explode.

"Sometimes, that's the point. You shouldn't look for the good things, Cella. They should just find you when you need it the most."

I am always in awe of BK's stories and writing style, especially how she draws you in to the worlds she creates. I highly recommend reading this book, as well as the whole Guzzi Legacy series. Marcus by Bethany-Kris is an EPIC read and will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!

The Guzzi legacy—built on tradition, raised with the highest of expectation and the impurest of intentions, withstanding tragedy and the threats of those beneath them. In the end, overflowing with epic love stories and unbreakable values—a legacy that will live on forever...

Marcus Guzzi is that older brother watching from the sidelines—always there to lift his brothers when they fall, to give em' a smack on the head reminder to check their attitude, to be that calm, no-nonsense voice that expects more, because they are capable of it, and to be that constant presence that always—always has their back.

He is his father’s son.
Duty and la famila above all else.

Marcus stands tall under the weight of expectation and burden of the family business. And he does so without complaint, without pause.

The master of self-discipline; his emotions are constantly in check—locked down like Fort Knox. The clock never stops, business is never done, and when Marcus’ head hits the pillow—he is very much alone. His needs and desires are at the bottom. And Marcus wouldn’t have it any other way—until her.

They met before. Much darker times. Standing next an open grave filled with broken promises and whispers of condolences.

Cella Marcello—widow, single mother, interior design genius, and hater of the life she was born into, and still trying to avoid.

Cella kept her chin up, and middle finger higher. Fuck the life and their force-fed traditions and unwanted sacrifices. The life took everything from Cella. And then some. It broke her.

A penthouse project, another rich customer, but not just anyone—Gian Guzzi. His face maybe unfamiliar, but his name—his legacy speaks for itself. Mafia. Opening that door to the past...The eldest Guzzi son, Marcus Guzzi was on the other side.

The attraction was beyond logic.
Pulsating. Deliberate. Absolute.

Marcus and Cella worked side-by-side on the surprise penthouse project. It was more than blueprints and leather sofas.

They listened to each other and shared their experiences.
Their burdens. Their heartbreak.
And their mouths and bodies did the rest.

Marcus was patient and understanding. He knew what he wanted. Cella brought out the best in him. And he would spend the rest of the days trying—making an effort. For her. Marcus didn't do anything half way.

Cella was vulnerable but determined. Knowing you deserve better and opening yourself up to it are two very different things. And life had so much more to offer—if she let it in—let Marcus in. Cella learned to trust—to love the man, accept the role he played in the life she ultimately despised.

But when trust is threatened...When Marcus, always proud, gets in over his head, and Cella's fear becomes a reality, she finds herself suffocating inside hospital walls—a position she swore she would never be in again...people tend to fallback on what is familiar...what is safe.

Safe isn't always better. Marcus will wait—forever for her.
Cella will have to decide. Love over fear. Love over the inevitable.

***
I cannot express how much I love this book, and the entire Guzzi Legacy series. And now it's the end for now. Something sad and beautiful about it. I will miss these characters. And those that truly love books know what I mean.

This mafia world and these characters not only provide an escape, but you become invested in them—you feel what they feel, and you want them to fall, kick ass and live happily ever after.

And that is brilliant writing and storytelling by author, Bethany Kris.
Bravo. Hats off to you, lady. Job well done. Can't wait for the next ride.

What does mafia romance mean to me? What do I gravitate toward to it a lot? What makes it so fascinating? What makes it so heart melting? Well for me, it's because of authors like Bethany-Kris, who write addictive stories like Marcus that resonate deep in my heart. That create characters that pull all your heart strings. With powerful words that cause an inferno in your soul. Marcus titillated me. Marcus captivated me. Marcus mesmerized me. The storyline exceptional. The characters, extraordinary.

Marcus is the heart rending 6th and final book in The Guzzi Legacy. An incredible with an engrossing storyline that plunges you into words and characters you will fall in love with. An intense and explosive book with angsty undertones take me to an emotional journey. Unputdownable. Action Packed. Enticing. Marcus is a heart palpitating mafia romance with a beautiful story that centers on grief, love, intriguing suspense, phenomenal chemistry and exciting action. Wow, Bethany-Kris pulled me in yet again into an epic and seductively addictive story with heart twisting layers.

Finally, it’s Marcus. I have waited for a long time for his story. Marcus always intrigued me. He is controlled, exudes power and protect those he loves with a vengeance. Marcus meets Cella Marcello, a widow, together they fall in love and gives us unforgettable chemistry. Cella has been through so much grief but it’s her strength that makes me admire her. Bethany-Kris has a way of touching ,y heart by giving an emotional connection with her characters. I always find myself deeply connecting with the characters.

I felt that a chapter is finally closing after reading Marcus. It has been ride experiencing every single family part of the Commission. They were really felt like family. I am truly excited for the next chapter that Bethany-Kris creates next.

Marcus knows he’s soon to be unleashed to make his mark as the lone top dog don of his family’s mafia business. Having been groomed for years as the eldest son, he’s already wearing the trade mark suits and walking in his father’s footsteps, so the transition seems as natural as it does inevitable. Filling that role means he must meet another obligation very soon...matrimony. Lucky for him and us the perfect lady love seems to fall right into his arms and heart. She’s not alone, either, folks. Her sweet young daughter wins his heart, too.

Cella has seen and lived the best and worst of the mafia life and knows it can take as much as it gives. She’s tried walking on the safer side of the mafioso road and still got ran over, with her heart and life becoming a casualty of war. She’s uncertain if she could withstand another round of the bad that seems to come with the good of this chaotic, take no prisoners lifestyle. However, she’s got a young daughter now to look out for, as well. She’s not stupid though and realizes her DNA famiglia roots will always have her anchored into this never completely lets you go world.

This meant for each other lovebirds romantic tale seemed to flow naturally. Sure, there was some relationship angst, including an emotional meltdown where past and present emotions collide, but these two seem to understand and complete each other. Simply put, they just seemed to fit, folks.

As always, I enjoyed spending time with the sub-characters from previous books that make cameo appearances here. Though I did skip Corrido (book 1) and Alessio (book 2) because that set-up is just not my thing, I’ve been reading this author for years so am very familiar with this spin-off series and its family tree history. Needless to say, I’m already looking forward to my next Bethany-Kris mafioso fix and can’t wait to see what she has in store for us avid mafioso romance readers in the near future.

Romance Safety Gang:

This has been my favorite Guzzi novel, hands down. Everything is interconnected in BKs worlds, but they are always stand-alone a, which is a feat within itself. I’m so thoroughly impressed with how this author could make their character so mysterious, yet show so much compassion, and have their emotions really pour through their actions.
Cella is probably my favorite. She’s a widow-been through a lot-and was just absolutely perfect for the brooding alpha. A definite 5 stars! The best mafia author out there!

Marcus is the last of the Guzzi books. Just as powerful than the last. Cella has seen her lifetime of heartbreak. Just like Marcus family her family is just involved with Casa Nostra.

Cella lost her husband and now years later she met someone she didn't want in her life. I think she took it in stride. Not letting everything what could go wrong, would go wrong.

Great ending for their legacy.

5 stars

One of my biggest indulgences, when it comes to reading, is anything that this author writes. Her words are the air I need to breathe. The old adage, of saving the best for last, was definitely true in this case because Marcus was definitely the best.

His character was complex. He had to be two people at the same time; the boss/family protector, and still how to be normal as a son, as person , and as a man wanting to be in a committed relationship with a widow and her child. Not on easy line to walk and her the author showcased the feelings that a person in his position might feel quite well. Celia had her own issues to deal with, since being a mafia princess had cost her so much already that it was a risk for her to get involved with the highest boss of all. I could understand and empathize with her character and feelings. But, in all fairness, she did not stand a chance because Marcus was truly the best of these five brothers ,and that says a lot, considering I loved loved LOVED these Guzzi brothers.

Bethany Kris clearly saved the best for last. “Marcus” was a surprisingly sexy and sweet story about what it means to finally move on. I loved the chemistry between Marcus and Cella. It was scorching hot but tender at the same time. My heart also melted any time Marcus and Tiffany interacted.

I loved Marcus so much and mainly because he’s one of the few male characters who leaves the decision up to the female character. After the plot takes a turn, he never pushes her. He lets her be and leaves the decision in her own hands. I found that to be refreshing. Without a doubt, Marcus struck the perfect tone between being an alpha male but allowing Cella agency.

I’m in the middle of reading the book again, so I’ll save my thoughts for later.
