Surely, Charles Clemency must be the murderer? After all, he is the only actual suspect found in the locked bedchamber next to the still, graceful body of his lady wife.Inspector Lestrade is justifiably proud of himself for solving a case without the assistance from you-know-who. The compelling evidence confirms that there is nothing irregular about this investigation, and that Charles is clearly as guilty as sin.So, why is Holmes suddenly taking a keen interest in the case..?
I naturally loved English and Literature at school and pursued both successfully in further education etc. Over the years, I have written many different works from short stories to novellas and covered genres such as science fiction, historical adventure, horror and mysteries. More recently, I began to write three-act plays based on favourite series which eventually led to developing my own, 'The Armchair Detective'. My aim was to create an unique, absorbing and fun mystery series. 'Armchair Detective' titles have been as high as No. 2 in Amazon Kindle's British Detectives and Drama (British & Irish) catagories and inside the top-selling 7,000 in the USA and inside the top-selling 550 in the UK 'The Armchair Detective' has been broadcast on the radio, as full-cast audio dramas, in the United States as a Shoestring Radio Production. I have also created, developed and written 'The Novella Range', Classic Scripts and 'The Engine Series' as well as writing the popular 'The Holmes and Watson Series'.
The Armchair Detective... solving mysteries from the armchair since October 2010.
A quick and delightful listen. The narrator Kevin Theis is amazing. This is a unique story line. Like Ian's other Sherlock books. This is in the style of Basil Rathbone's Sherlock. Ian takes a few liberties to give a new enemy who seems to be as deadly as Moriarty. This is much to short. And I can't wait to finish the Corvus Conspiracy series.
This adventure team up Sherlock and Lestrade in a murder investigation, and Ian does a great job throwing a few curve balls. Well worth the less than $3 price.
This is an interesting take on the classic detective, part tow of the sequence but can be read as a standalone. The story is good with some inventive ideas, the tarot cards and ravens, some of the characters are a bit of a cliché but I think this was deliberate. The performance is enhanced by the sound effects which make this more of an audio drama. Kevin gives a very good performance with good variation in male voices, the lone female voice is not up to much but still Ok. Overall well worth a listen.
I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobook of this title. Detective Inspector Lastrade had already solved a murder investigation, when Holmes, at a loose end, butted in. He found some oddities but.. well you need to read or listen to the entertaining rendition of this story. I believe you will find it a short, but engaging tale.
Delightful and the evidence points to Charles as the culprit. Lestrade solved the crime or did he. Sherlock thinks other wise. Good caper for the two of them. Enjoyable as always.
Sherlock Holmes and Lestrade’s Irregular Investigation by Kevin Theis is a great Sherlock Holmes story. One thing I will say as the title suggests is that Watson is not in this one. However Holmes and Lestrade do make an interesting pair. I did enjoy the pairing but still prefer Watson for obvious reasons. The overall mystery is very good. The narrator Kevin Theis did a fantastic job bringing the story and it’s characters to life. All in all I would recommend Sherlock Holmes and Lestrade’s Irregular Investigation to anyone who is a fan of Sherlock Holmes or loves a good mystery.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Lestrade actually gets it right but Sherlock for some reason or another decides that he wants to investigate the case. What a crazy twist of events and who is really behind these murders!
The second book on the Corvus conspiracy but also part of a longer series.
Watson is away in Scotland with the death of his mother. Holmes is on his own with no cases and so bored. He goes to see Lestrade to inquire if he needs help with his murder case. The story takes off with many twists and turns and a surprise ending. A fun read.
