When in Roma

Rate this book
As they say, when in Rome…
Yeah, yeah, I’ve seen the sex tape.
So what if Luca Androtti has the hottest ass I’ve ever seen.
Even low level mafia are out of bounds.
Besides, I’m a rookie cop who's never left the office.

But some bright spark at Interpol just sent me to Italy.
And now I’m pretending to be a high-class escort.
Slinky red dress. Kick ass heels. You get the picture.

Luca and I end up on the run. People start shooting.

Suddenly, things are a lot more real
And I'm convinced this mysterious, smoking hot Italian
Is more important than he says he is.
But then, we all have secrets.

He’ll bring the mafia to its knees.
Me, too. If I’m not careful…

This is a standalone romance with a happy ending.

It is a gritty, sexy Steamy Romance between a bad boy mafia hitman and an Interpol agent. It contains SMOKING HOT love scenes and depictions of mafia violence.

This is a quick steamy story about Luca who works for the Italian mafia and Paige who works for Interpol on her first field assignment. Luca wants out and believes he has a way out and when Paige shows up in Italy to retrieve his evidence do things go sideways and upside down for them. Paige has an undeniable attraction to Luca and he seems to fall for her innocence and fresh look at life! Many shop owners have benefited from Lucas’s generous actions and how he cares for them. I fell in love with Luca and all he does to protect Paige at every turn from those who are out to get the evidence. Paige seems to have good ideas on how to get out of Italy but is stopped each step of the way. These two experience many ups and downs and once Paige sees what Luca does and panics and walks away knowing in her heart she is doing the wrong thing. Can Paige and Luca find a way back to one another after the mafia takes it to them? I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Picked up this book and read it in one day. It was fast paced most of the time (I didn’t care for Paige’s fantasy scenes with her sock-I prefer to read what the hero and heroine actually do),there was plenty of action and suspense, sex scenes and the odd typo but when your main character doesn’t speak English as a first language, it’s quite forgiving. It got confusing at times when they were talking in the taxi and plotting and planning when they weren’t suppose to let outsiders hear what they were up to after the airport scene. Like the whole idea was that all the drivers spoke English and could not always be trusted.

Also when Mrs Grimaldi sees Luca for the first time, she addresses him as Mario but by the end of the conversation he’s Luca. Small inconsistencies that made me do a double take and spelling inconsistencies like “Suzie” and “Suzy”.

But overall a good plot and good storyline.

If you have ever read one of Nikki's books then you know what a great writer she is. This ine has to be my favorite by her that I've had a chance to to read. It's hard trying to figure out where you belong in life. Especially one that involves the mafia. Luca is trying to make his life better but finds tha it's hard when the boss is always watching your every move. It finds a way ti get out from underneath the Mafia but I'd the process finds out what's it like to love someone. Paige is this interpol agent who has he'd first in the field case but when things keep going wrong, she felt as if it's no use. But when it hits so close to home she realizes that she to has finally found love. They get that HEA that they both want but it took some fighting to get there. I really loved this book and give it 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader's Copy

This suspenseful, sexy and action packed romance will have you mesmerized. The Heroine, Paige is from Interpol but, naive and unsure of herself as a field agent. However, she is tasked with a pick up of evidence to bring down the Italian Mafia. It is her contact, Mario Luca Androtti, that sends Paige on a journey of self discovery that she never expected but, whole heartedly embraces as she tries to complete her task.

This story takes place in Rome and it is just as much a character as Espresso, the dog or Mrs. Grimaldi, the shop owner or Ernesto at the cafe. They add dimension and development to the story. It is an emotionally charged and sometimes violet and always heated story that you will not be able to put down. It puts the question of what would you do for someone you love to test.

This sexy number takes romantic suspense to new heights. Taking the reader deep into the heart of mafia-controlled Italy as we follow rookie Interpol agent Paige on her first field assignment and mafioso Luca as he tried to right the wrongs being done to his community. I adored Luca. I don’t know if it’s because I love a bad guy I can cheer for, or if it’s because there’s nothing more attractive than a bad boy who’s also a good man. I both loved and hated Paige’s wide-eyed innocence. It allowed the author lots of room to tell us what was going on, but there were times that Paige’s naivete was mind-boggling. Though, I did really like the lesson she learns in the end. I found this book to be a fantastic story about love’s triumph over evil.

I enjoyed reading this bad boy mafia romance & found the plot well-written & entertaining. The main characters are quite well-developed and complement each other in a well-written plot. The secondary characters play a good supporting role.
There is: a rather naïve Interpol computer analyst is ordered to pick up evidence to bring down the Italian mafia, a man involved in the Italian mafia & wants to get out so he obtains evidence to give to Interpol (Luca), twists & turns, intrigue, secrets, danger, threats, enemies, mafia, assassins, corruption, violence, attractions, physical conflict, friendly advice, emotional turmoil, death, blackmail, confrontations, romance, love, steamy scenes & a happy conclusion.

Interpol Meets Mafia!!

Paige works behind the scenes for Interpol but is needed on the front lines to make contact with Mario Luca Androtti who has connections with la Famiglia Romano. This hardened killer is working to bring down Romano as things have gone too far even for Luca. Luca is invigorated by Paige’s beauty, innocence and appreciation of the wonders around her. Forced into pretend a relationship, a real one develops.

Danger, intrigue, and romance (including some mff, be warned) culminate into an entertaining read in the historic city of Rome.

Great Story! When Paige transfers to the Interpol's European office, the last thing she expected was to be watching a porn video and then be sent to Italy to meet up with the star of that video. Luca was born into the mafia family, but is ready to make a clean break and turn evidence over to the Interpol to help protect his future. This story keeps you guessing what will happen next and who is good and how the information keeps slipping into the hands of the enemies. Great suspenseful read that keeps you hooked from the first page. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Super sexy spy games in Rome!

When Interpol analyst Paige is assigned to retrieve whatever it is that the elusive mafia insider is offering, she certainly ends up with more than she bargained for! Plenty of hot stuff here, but at its core it is a sweet romance and redemption story. The action is non-stop as both Paige and Luca force each other out of their comfort zones, all leading to a wonderful HEA. It's a quick story with memorable characters that was loads of fun to read. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book,.

For Paige, it should have been a simple job of obtaining the information Luca has to distance himself from the Mafia and bringing it back home. Nothing is ever simple! The last thing he expected was Paige, an inexperienced operative who would bring out all his protective instincts. Thrust further into his dangerous world, the only she can survive is to put her trust in Luca. Will this prove to be misplaced when she discovers who the real Luca is? It’s fast paced, it’s action packed, it’s an amazing read of how far you will go to protect the one you love.

Sad to say that I had a really hard time getting into this book. It was a very slow start and it was hard trying to stay interested. I got the concept and the idea was great, I love Mafia stories but had a hard time digging into this one. I stayed with it and the characters were okay if a little over the top for me . Luca was great, Paige was not as believable for me. For not being a field agent, she got a bit too sexual just to fit in. I just had a hard time with it and the ending left me asking, huh? Sorry Nikki, not one of your best..

Paige an Interpol agent in training is given a mission to retrieve evidence from Italy. Her first encounter with Luca was at the airport where the adventure begins. Although at times I felt the story was somewhat slow, there was much spice throughout the story. Paige in this story found love and the importance of being faithful. I read this book as a ARC and I would recommend this book for reading

Overall, I enjoyed this book. The story was intriguing and I really loved Luca. My only real hang up with this story is how naive he was about Paige being a seasoned field agent. It was pretty blatant with her aww over everything. On the other hand, I did enjoy how her innocence really spoke to him.
