Rate this book

Art gallery owner Kathy struggles to balance the grand opening of her new gallery and the childhood trauma that surfaces when her old boyfriend arrives to help her with the art displays.

Dane, Kathy’s assistant, lost her sense of self and her will to paint when her husband dies of a heart attack. Reclusive, she wrestles with feelings she starts to have for another man. As her feelings blossom and her confidence returns, she picks up the paintbrush again.

Kathy and Dane couldn’t be more different. Kathy struggles to let herself relax while Dane sees Kathy as all business. As these two intersecting lives begin to balance each other, they find themselves healing and thriving. Kathy starts to come to terms with her abuse and add a personal side to her life, while Dane realizes there is more to life than being stuck in her past and focuses on moving forward with her painting again.

Easy read.

I enjoyed the first 2/3 of the book. The last 1/3 was extremely long and repetitive. The authors style of writing is very enjoyable and easy. The characters could have been more deep and descriptive. Overall I would recommend for a nice quick read. Perhaps a sequel or prequel could address the characters more deeply.
