Secret Admirer is a stand alone romance by Harlow Layne. This is only my second book by Harlow. This book was the perfect mix of insta-love, sweetness, sexy times and suspense.
Bodhi Rivers has pretty much hit rock bottom. Naturally shy and awkward in his younger years, Bodhi has always been made to feel like he was less. As an adult, Bodhi came upon hard times and hasn’t found a way to pull himself back up. I believe he’s pretty much given up. He thought he would try a new town with a warmer climate, a smaller town. Which is what put him on the street he was on, on that particular morning, laying his eyes for the first time on the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen. And she was crying. All he could think about was finding a way to make her smile again. Suddenly her happiness was more important to him than his next breath.
Coco Beckett works at a hair salon. She has just lost her parents and is trying to deal with her grief. She first saw Bodhi outside her shop and was immediately drawn to him. He had long messy hair that it seemed to her he tried to hide behind. But somehow, Coco saw beneath what might have turned others away and could see the sweet man underneath. She wanted to make this man smile, find out more about him.
“Show me who you are, Bodhi, and that’s who I’ll believe you are.”
When a series of events begins happening to Coco that puts her in danger, it’s Bodhi that saves her. And it’s only Bodhi that makes Coco feel safe. As the authorities try to figure out what’s going on, Bodhi and Coco’s feelings for each other grow and strengthen. Just maybe, Bodhi begins to feel hope, that he could someday be the kind of man Coco deserves, the kind of man he wants to be.
“How is it that this amazing and beautiful woman doesn’t see me how everyone my entire life has?”
This was just so good. I didn’t want to stop reading it. I loved the suspense element to it. I couldn’t help but to fall so in love with Bodhi. I loved seeing his confidence grow. The epilogue was perfect. If you want a sweet, sexy hero that just needed the right town, the right people, to set himself back on the right path, and a woman that gives him the strength to do it, then this book is for you.

“You deserve for someone to treat you the way you should have always been treated. You’re the one that deserves better, but I’d be honored if you chose for me to be that person.”
This was hands down the sweetest, shyest hero I’ve ever read in my whole reading life.
You know how refreshing it is to read about a man who’s not cocky, domineering manwhore asshole? One who felt he wasn’t good enough for the heroine because he wasn’t rich and because he was homeless?
You know how many times I’ve read about a manwhore condescending hero who likes to put women down just because he’s good looking and rich?
If you pass on this amazing man just because he’s not like every other rich man in books then you don’t know what are you missing on. It’s usually the heroine who’s down on her luck and the hero who has all the money in the world. The difference between those heroes and this rich heroine was that she was never cruel to the hero. She was sweet to him. He deserves her just like she deserves this sweet man.
This book was probably 3 stars but because the roles are reversed and he’s sweet then I’m rating it 4 stars.
He stalked her for a bit after he sees her crying on the window but it never bothered me in the least. His thoughts were sweet. When his protectiveness showed he got a bit bossy because he was worried for her.
Yeah, this book is not going to be for everyone because he’s not the rich asshole who puts the heroine down because she’s not at the same level as him, I’m sure there’ll reviews complaining how the heroine was weak and how hero was so beta or wasn’t alpha enough for them and that’s more than ok. Bodhi can be mine, only mine. I call dibs! You have been warned!

Have I ever said how I’m addicted to the uber sweet heroes Harlow Layne writes? Because I am. And Bohdi is hands down the sweetest of them all. I just want to hug him and never let go! I can’t even start to explain how sweet this man is because I’m pretty sure there is not a word for that level of sweet. Seriously.
Bohdi is so kind, so thoughtful, so gentle, so caring, so EVERYTHING! Gaaaah, I just love him so hard! The term gentle giant has never been more true than with this shy sweetheart of a man. Obviously Bohdi stole the show for me in this book but that doesn’t mean I didn’t also adore CoCo. She was just as lovely and sweet and the perfect other half to Bohdi.
Everything about them had me hooked. The sweetness, the heat, how different their story is from the usual. I loved that instead of a man swooping in to be a hero for a woman down on their luck Bohdi and Coco equally saved each other. Where Coco May have been the one in a position of having more means Bohdi gave her so much more than money could ever buy. Harlow Layne hit it out of the park with Secret Admirer!

This was such a sweet story with the right amount of suspense! Harlow Layne did an amazing job of writing Bodhi's character and revealing the struggles that he carries physically and emotionally on a daily basis. Despite having to grieve her parents death, Coco is such a sweet and down to earth person that she offers to help out the homeless man she comes across. Their story was so captivating and oh so sweet how they end up saving each other in ways they never expected!
Harlow Layne is a new to me author and I can easily say I'm a new fan! This book was an EPIC read and I highly recommend picking up this book! Secret Admirer by Harlow Layne will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!

Harlow Layne is a new to me author. When given the opportunity to read this story as an ARC,i read the blurb,liked it,and said yes please.
And i’m glad i did. It may be a sweet romantic story,but don’t we all need that from time to time?
A simple story of a sweet girl,hurting from the recent loss of her parents,and harassed by a low life ex. And the story of a good man living on the streets after he lost everything,including his dreams.
That man,Bodhi,sees that sweet girl,Coco,crying and it hurts him. Such a beautiful girl in tears,in pain. And he decides to do something to make her smile again. That,right there,is the best decision he’s made his whole life. If only there wasn’t someone out to hurt her.....
As i said,a sweet romance. One that i enjoyed reading.

I am so OBSESSED with all things Bodhi and Coco, Y’all! 🥰Harlow Layne has left me swooning, and melted in a sweet puddle of Bodhi River’s goo! In the best possible way! 😍I was captivated from the first sentence to the last. The unexpected twists and turns, the sweetness, the off the charts chemistry 🔥and the suspense all woven together perfectly to make this a fantastic edge of your seat, page-turner! 🙌🏻
Let’s start with our sweet man, Bodhi! Now he’s had a bit of a rough go of things, y’all. The last few years for him have not been kind. Down on his luck and forced to travel around and stay wherever he can find places and milder weather, he ends up in a new desert town. This is where he first lays eyes on the beautiful Coco. In his eyes he may not have a lot to offer anyone, but when he sees Coco crying he decides to leave a little something for her, just to make her smile. I love Bodhi’s heart. He surpasses book boyfriends by the dozens. He’s in a category by himself. He’s so good, a gentle giant. He’s caring and giving, even not having much to offer. He may be sweet and gentle, but he is Alpha AF. He may lack confidence because of financial stability in comparison to others, but he protected Coco like no other. From the first time he saw her, it was inevitable, she was supposed to be his. Will Bodhi be able to look beyond some of the differences and just be together? What will happen when the past tries to prevent a future for Bodhi and Coco?
Coco was so much more that we ever expected. She was I what I pictured this gorgeous “bohemian chic”. She is working as a hairstylist. She is bombshell. One would think her life would be perfect, but she has just come through a horribly devastating event in her life. One that has changed everything. She is left heartbroken and lonely. Then a mysterious stranger outside of her shop catches her eye. Bodhi is someone that most people would probably look over. From the first look, she say past the “overgrowth” on the exterior. She was beautiful inside and out. She saw gentleness in his eyes. She never looked down on him like others would. Right off the bat she was drawn to this beautiful man. She needed him, he would take care of her an protect her from trouble that was on the horizon.
GAH!! I cannot possibly write enough here to convey just how much I truly love this book. How much I Love Bodhi and Coco. Harlow blew me away with this one, and I’m intentionally being vague so I don’t give anything away! I love all her books and Bodhi Rivers has now joined the ranks of “My favorite men of Harlow’s”. Up until now it was a struggle. Choosing between two, Ty and Holden was impossible, but now...It’s a three-way. Lol Actually, that sounds pretty delicious. I will take it!

4.5 stars - "It's savage and blistering hot," not only describes the climate of Oasis, the setting for this love story, but also the explosive relationship that Bodhi and CoCo thoroughly enjoy.
I really liked this book. It started out slow and built at a steady pace as you watch the relationship unfold and grow strong. The suspense is well written and there are a few twists that were not predictable.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I am SO glad I added audio to this book! I really liked the book when I read it a couple of years ago but CoCo and Bodhi continued to captivate me. They are fiercely loyal to each other, despite the circumstances. They love with their whole heart, as well as body and mind. There's so much that could go deadly wrong but they remain strong together. 💙🔥🔥💙
I liked the narrator, Lia Holland, but I would've preferred a second narrator to go with the dual POV.

Narration: 3.5 stars

This is my first book by Harlow Layne, and I really enjoyed it. It’s a quick and easy read, it’s mysterious - which stopped me from taking a break in reading it lol.
Coco recovers from bad heartbreak - her parents recently died and she separated from her boyfriend.
Bodhi is a homeless young man, who wanders the street by day, and sees Coco crying at work. Fascinated from this young woman, he decides he wants to make her happy.
Circumstances draws these 2 close together. Can Bodhi be the man Coco needs? Self doubt is a bit influenced in Bodhi.
I really enjoyed the book. It was a good story, easy to read. Nice writing style. I can totally see myself reading more from this author!

AMAZING simply amazing! I love Coco and Bodhi. They had me smiling and in my feelings all the way through to the end. I mean I started it early yesterday and finished this morning and I could not put the book down. Harlow always brings her A game but this one really had it knocking out the park.
Bodhi is the man because he is down on his luck and he is traveling from town to town looking for somewhere to stay. He ends up in this small town and he is walking up and down the roads looking for a job when he comes across a gorgeous girl in the store window crying. He is so caught off guard by her beauty and her crying that he hides in the shadows to watch her. He wants to know her and he wants to comfort her so bad that he can feel it in his bones.
Coco is just going through some tough times. She has lost her parents in an accident and she has also lost her boyfriend so she is in a bad head space but she is trying to get over everything. When one day she is coming into work and she sees a beautiful flower and it is addressed to her and the flower is beautiful and she loves it. She looks around to see if she can find her secret admirer but she doesn't see him because he is hidden real well.
This is a must read that will have you on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next.

This was a little different than what I am use to from Harlow. But it was as good and enjoyable. Coco just lost her parents and is trying to move on with her life. A complete stranger who is homeless sees her one morning crying and just wants to cheer her up. So he brings her a flower every morning but she doesn't know who he is. Things start happening to her and she cant seem to figure out who is doing it to her. One night the stranger who has been giving her the flowers saves her from being attacked but gets hurt in the process. She takes him home with her to take care of him and because he makes her feel safe. That is when things start to get interesting in this storyline. This is an intense interesting storyline full of suspense. Trying to figure out who actually is stalking her keeps you gripped to the storyline. I absolutely loved the chemistry between these two and wanted more. Harlow did an amazing job with this one. Enjoyable read from beginning to end

Bodhi life has failed him and then he ends up down on his luck then casted to the streets for several years. He wanders trying to turn things around and ends up in Oasis. He lands eyes on a particular lady and he knows then that his mission in life is to make her smile.
CoCo left her posh life for a man, then left the man, rightfully so. She works as a beautician and meets a homeless man outside the shop that she has a fierce affection for almost immediately. She knows life has been unkind to him and she wants nothing but to chase the shadows in his eyes away.
They are what you wish everyone you met was like, not in the physical (I mean yes that helps) but the genuine kindness and affection. Bodhi is the beauty that life treads all over. Coco is sweet and selfless. Together they are a force. This story keeps you guessing as a few twists popup you dont see coming!

I am always on the lookout for unusual romances that feature unique characters. My catnip is definitely sweet and sexy stories, and Harlow Layne delivered the goods with Secret Admirer!
This book is a well-written, sweet story about two people with a soul connection.
The author created a special and beautiful character with the hero, Bodhi. Gentle, respectful and sexy — what more could you ask for in a book boyfriend? I really loved how Bodhi cared for Coco in every way. He put her needs — her life, really — above his. He embodied the best qualities in a man: strong, empathetic, and loving. I LOVE BODHI. Any reviews disputing that he is mine will be ignored hahaha! Gahhh he is so sweet and caring but also possessive and protective. I LOVE a damsel in distress story and Layne totally delivered. He comes to her rescue on more than one occasion despite any obstacles he faced. She was his priority from page one and I was so here for it! And then I couldn’t flip the pages fast enough wanting to know more about who was really stalking her all while falling in love with these two! And it’s impossible not to fall in love with Bodhi and Coco; they care so deeply for each other and it shows!!

If you want a book boyfriend to swoon over then Bodhi is your man. He's a sweet, caring and protective guy down on his luck while Coco sees beyond his outward appearance to the man underneath. Together they have amazing chemistry. Their story as they fall in love and the twists involved keep you turning the pages and leave you wanting more. Harlow gives us an incredible story of love, of never giving up and how kindness can make all the difference in someone's life.

This story is so perfect. I'm completely in love with Bodhi and Coco. They are 2 broken souls that are mended by each other. Bodhi had lived on the streets so long wandering from place to place never finding a place he could call home. Coco after suffering the loss of her parents is shattered and terrified. Fearing someone is watching her. After Bodhi save her she realizes she is right. Bohdi is a kind and gentle soul. Ready to protect the girl he has become enamored with. Coco is a strong woman trying to make it through a terrible loss. Such an amazing story I cant love it any more

When I found out this was a stalker story I was immediately IN. But then I read it and found Bodhi so sweet and caring and the story became even more perfect. I love how Bodhi looks after Coco even when HIS life has fallen apart too. He’s selfless in his love for her and their relationship is one of a kind.
Secret Admirer is full of heart and intertwined with suspense to keep the reader glued to the page. I rooted for those two from the first sighting and I feel even more in love with them along he way. Well done, Layne. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.

A sweet, sexy read. with a touch of mystery. CoCo is recovering from the tragic death of her parents and the break up of her crazy ex when she finds herself drawn to the homeless guy outside her work. Bodhi find himself drawn to Coco and can't stop watching over her but when danger threatens will he have what it takes to save her and make her his? A lovely story.

Oh wow, this is my first book by this author but it definitely won't be my last. I feel in love with the main characters of this book. If there ever was a sweeter male lead character than the one in this book then I haven't met him yet, lol. This book was a light read, simple and sweet. It was easy to get drawn into this book and ti stay there. Definitely recommended.

Secret Admirer from start to finish was such an emotionally beautiful story. I have officially found my new book boyfriend and his name is Bodhi.😁 With a godly body and a sincere heart and soul Bodhi is swoon worthy. It’s no wonder Coco falls in love with him.💓
Bodhi is down on his luck but once he sees beautiful Coco things change for him. Coco has been through so much recently with her parents death and splitting up with her boyfriend and feeling like she is being watched. When she soon starts receiving a flower and note from a secret admirer she can’t help but smile and dream about who might be leaving them for her. When a mysterious situation brings them together their connection becomes strong and feelings start to bloom. Coco needs a protector and Bodhi becomes that for her and she helps him realize he is so much more then what others have told him his entire life. He will protect her with his life and just wants to be the best person he can be for her and Coco loves Bodhi for just being himself not what he has or doesn’t have which is just so perfect.
All around great story, an easy read, emotional, and romantic even some mystery/suspense.
