How could four days of perfection turn into a living hell? How could four days of pretending to be a happily married couple turn into a broken dream? How could four days of passion and desire turn into a empty void in your soul? How could four days of a heart wanting to come alive for the first time, be turned back into a hard grey lump of nothing? That is exactly what Jason Keystone wants to know. From everything that he has had happen in his life, everything good seems to go away. All he has ever wanted was someone to give instead of take. He thought that it had finally come true with Julianna. He was ready to believe and fall in love. Never thinking of what one of them might have to give up for them to be together. Is it so bad to want a little bit of heaven without having hell to pay.
Does he have anything left in him to even begin to hope for happiness. Life has thrown stones at Jason, but instead of throwing them back he has collected them and built an empire around him. But even that empire can’t take the loss of his heart. Maybe confronting Julianna will lead to a way to put everything behind him. Or is he making the worst mistake of his life? Will finding the answer have him lost forever.
With the way book one ended, I wasn't sure what to expect with the conclusion of this one. In the end, it was a perfect story. It was filled with pain, heartache, loss, and love. A great combination. Yes, there are some spelling errors but it didn't take away from the story for me. This was the first I have read from this author and I look forward to reading more from her.
