Chasing After a Dream: The Asheville Project

Rate this book
When my wife left me in the grocery store as nothing more than a hollow husk of a person, I didn't think I'd ever recover. How was I supposed to?

She left me because I decided to transition, but when she left, she took everything from me. My pride, my self-esteem, but most importantly, she took my joy.

The mayor's daughter, Jamie, wasn't willing to give up on me. Where most everyone else wrote me off, Jamie seemed to want to give me a chance. Maybe I'd take it...

After getting out of college, I expected life in Asheville to be a nice, relaxing experience. I'd finally get to practice the skills I learned in college while working a normal job at the pet store to take care of myself.

Getting out from under my dad's impressive shadow was something I felt that I had to do. What I didn't expect to feel was a tug on my heartstrings when I went shopping for a car.

Erin had her issues, but she was a good soul. She might not be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but I could try and guide her to it.

In this 32k+ novella, you don't have to worry about cheating, abuse, or a sour ending. Welcome to Asheville. Not everyone is a peach, but there are more good apples than bad. This story can be read as a standalone, but for a more complete picture, reading the entire series could be helpful.

Hello there! A little bit about me, I'm a twenty-three-year-old transgender woman pursuing writing as a career. Most of my stories involve a transgender woman in a variety of gender pairings. As a transwoman, I get a little disappointed that some stories depicting my community are just fetishizing us.

So what do I want to do about it? Well, I'm glad you, dear hypothetical reader in question, asked. I'm here to show people that transgender women are more than just a fetish. We can be sexy while having a personality too!

I sincerely hope you all enjoy the stories I tell, both my erotica and my lengthier stories. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy!

Very sweet :)

This was a lovely novella. It's always nice to see a story with a trans woman that isn't...fetishistic.
I liked Erin and Jamie. Their wishy-washy-ness was frustrating but also very relatable in some ways.
I'm also glad that the external transphobia was only Erin's ex and not Jamie's family. When they said her dad was a Republican mayor...I got nervous.
I think the novella could use a quick editing run (couple of weird word choice things, but maybe just me), but overall I really liked it.
