He hates her kind, but he can't resist the human NYPD detective who wants to put him in jail
Wolf shifter Lucas Anderson only knew one thing: humans were scum and not to be trusted. From the moment he was born, his future was already set: to be Alpha of the most powerful Lycan clan in the world. He would do anything to protect his clan and keep their existence a secret. But when a gorgeous, *human* police detective accuses him of murder, his life is turned upside-down and he can't ignore her or the passion she stirs up in him and his wolf. Detective Sofia Selinofoto's life revolved around putting scumbags in jail and getting justice for the weak and innocent. However, her razor-sharp focus and ethics are put to the test when her murder investigation leads her to CEO billionaire Lucas Anderson. From the moment she sets her eyes on him, the pull of attraction was so strong she almost forgets that he could be a killer. But, she knows he's hiding something and solving this particular puzzle both scares and thrills her. Unable to resist each other, they play a dangerous cat-and-mouse game that only brings them closer together and sparks the flames of their desire. When her life is threatened, he knew he would burn the world down to protect her. But, she was still human and not to be trusted. Can he put his prejudices aside and put his faith in her or will he forever want someone he can never truly have?

These books are so good . The stories so addictive and the characters are truly wonderful.
I’ve read all Alicia’s books now and can tell you honestly that no one writes them like she does .

Alpha Ascending is the third book in the True Mates Generations series.

Lucas is Grant and Frankie’s son
And boy is he an Alpha to be reckoned with.
With the attitude of his father and the heart of his mother, he falls for Sofia heavily, now he just needs to convince her .

Sofia is an officer with the NYPD, dealing with corrupt partners, mob bosses and a new relationship is not easy .

With the ascension the Alpha Of both Lucas and his twin getting closer , the clan is obsessed with their security.
The Mages are still a threat , but that’s not all , when you don’t know who you can trust , life becomes so much harder for them both .

Stunning book , the only bad thing was it had to end , now I have to wait for the next book .

Another great story in the series. I loved both characters and didn't want the book to end.
Looking forward to the next one.

I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

I had some initial reservations about this book before reading. After reading Astrid’s and Adrianna’s stories, I was concerned this one might not live up to the exceptional standard I have come to expect of Mrs. Montgomery’s books in part because I was unsure that Sofia’s character would mesh well with Lucas’s and, also, I have SO MANY favorite characters from this author’s books that I felt surely it was time I ran across a “dud” but, alas, Mrs. Montgomery has done it again.

The story line flows gracefully without sagging or feeling rushed. The author did a phenomenal job of intertwining formerly introduced characters and the overarching story of the entire series with the main characters’ storyline. Every detail and twist and turn was well thought out and fit together perfectly not only in this book but with the previous books as well. And, of course, I fell in love with the characters and their stories. It was, as all of her books are, a very original story that doesn’t leave me feeling like I have read similar stories in the past. Mrs. Montgomery’s creativeness is all her own. Absolutely CANNOT wait for the next book!

To be honest, I was not as excited about Lucas and Sofia. Mostly because there were other characters I was more excited about. Yes, I still have hope that Cross and Deedee get together. Although, I am starting to think that Montgomery is saving Cross for the end like she did with Daric.
Plus, both Lucas and Sofia seemed to have so much anger and issues to work through. I was afraid it would feel like a fight the whole way and not in a good way. I needn't have worried. Montgomery made that work for her. Even though they were true mates this was not an insta-love book. Lucas and Sofia had to work for their HEA and most of the book was about how their relationship grew. The one downside about this was there was not as much about the mages in this story but there are big hints that they will make a resurgence soon. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.

got this as an ARC but it’s an honest personal review...
Now where to start with Lucas and Sof. The build up to their relationship goes into excellent detail and it’s lovely to see that it’s not a they meet fall in love end of story and there are highs and lows on both sides. You only go into Sofs background a little knowing that she is a cop because of her mom and put away a dirty cop and crime boss who is out to get her, it is only mentioned sporadically but the main focus is on Lucas and his background that is mentioned in both astrids and Adriannas stories and it was nice to put that into more detail.

Lucas’s hate of humans I wasn’t too sure of to begin with as he absolutely hates them, I know he has had bad experiences with them but when some of his aunts, uncles and cousins are human he must realise that not all of them are horrible but this is only a small plot hole I found. You also can guess straight away who the bad guy is on Lucas side but it doesn’t ruin the story the one that surprised me was the cop on sofs side but it was nice to have a suprise and I’m looking forward to the next book in the hope it will fill in a plot hole about how the mage did what he did.

I especially loved how sof found out about lycans and was able to stop his bloodlust as that is what I imagine a true mate could do but to be completely fine with it I would think would take a day or 2 but when your trying to fit days/weeks/months into a storyline you have to cut some corners so again small hole

When sof was hurt it didn’t go into to much detail about being unable to be hurt which surprised me and wished it could have gone into more details about how sofs dad coped with seeing a wizard vanish in thin air and we didn’t get too much information from sharpe after he mentioned the necklace as I wondered why he waited 2 weeks before going to see the lycans was this due to the magic in the enclave or just getting more info as he was baffled as to how he got out of the mages hold?

Overall a great story with a great background to the couples relationship as I hate those story’s where they meet fall in love declare it in the same day end of story as there is no plot but that def doesn’t happen here and if your reading this review to see if you want to read it then please do as although this is the 2nd gen it’s just as good as the first true mate series and it’s nice to see the original characters again (although I do think grant is harder now than I thought he would be, but that’s a personal preference and still don’t mind his gruff demeanour - you’ll know what I mean if you read it 😊)

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book.

The True Mates Generations Series is back with Lucas’s book.
Lucas Anderson is the next Alpha of New York and CEO of the Fenrir Corporation. Sophia Selinofoto is a human detective of the NYPD.
Parts of this story coincided with book 2 which is Lucas’s twin sister’s book so you get a little bit of a view of what happened in those scenes from his point of view which is cool.
Lucas is unlike the other alpha’s in that he changed at a young age due to seeing his sister hurt and because of that the blood lust caused him to shift. He still has problems sometimes when he sees someone he loves being hurt and his wolf takes over causing a shift that he has no control over and it can make him very dangerous when he goes through a shift like that.
Sophia is called to the Blood Moon night club due to a disturbance and sees him after such a shift.
What happens next is fate putting them into each other’s path by her investigating a murder of a man that has ties to him and she can’t help but look more closely into him.
Lucas doesn’t want anything to do with the human, but his wolf is always calm around her. When she realizes that he is not who she’s looking for and he realizes that maybe his wolf is right to want her things change.
Montgomery does a great job at showing us how hard it is to still be a woman in what is still considered to be a man’s field of work and how hard it is to still to the right thing sometimes. She also does a wonder job at showing us how hard Lucas works to control his wolf when it gets agitated and wants it to shift.
I can not wait to see what happens next after the ending that she wrote to this story either because it was a totally out of nowhere.

I really enjoyed this story. It pulled me in from beginning to end. I really liked how it connected to the previous book which was about his twin. This book can be read as a standalone but if you've the previous story you knew that something was going on with Lucas. He mentioned very little to his twin, Adrianna in her story so I really enjoyed the fact that this one runs parallel to that. It does not give you all the details to Adrianna's story either but it feels in the blanks. It was very clever. The story is very smooth and flows really well. There is plenty of action and intrigue to go along. Sofia and Lucas are both stubborn people which makes for an interesting time of things. Lucas is drawn to her but doesn't even come close to thinking she is his True Mate. He is hung up on the fact that she's human and his experiences have taught him not to trust humans. Sofia is a detective and she catches a case that connects to Lucas. She knows that pieces are missing and that she's not getting the full story so she keeps digging. I really enjoyed this story and am very excited to see where the series goes next. I love the way that they are interconnected with the characters and can't wait to see who get's their story next.

Very enjoyable read for the most part.
This story flows alongside timewise with book two, this made it entertaining.
Loved Sofia and that she was coping in such a toxic male dominated society. Standing up for justice for those poor women, against her own despicable partner and being abused by the other officers stank.
I just found Sofia too accepting of her pending death on both occasions this happened. She is a trained officer and should/could have attempted something rather than just closing her eyes. Also loosing the necklace just felt wrong, once again due to her training.
Though Lucas came across as likeable, his hatred of humans was unbalanced, especially as he had a human assistant, David.
Due to being the next Alpha, he will have to work with them sometimes.
Lucas really put his foot in it and was really quite cruel. I didn’t feel he apologised enough for what he said and how he acted. Of course Sofia forgives him too easily.
This is my honest review of this book kindly given to me but read through Kindle Unlimited.

Good

This is Lucas and Sofia's story.

Lucas Anderson is the heir apparent for the N.Y. Alpha. He knew that his whole life, so he's prepared for it. When he was kidnapped with his twin sister, Adrianna, when he was just 10 years old, he shifted for the first time. That's extremely rate for a Lycan to shift before puberty at the age of 13. His wolf shifted due to bloodlust, they hurt his twin, and he went into protection mode. Since then, he's hated humans.

Detective Sofia Selinofoto is investigating Lucas for murder. The men who kidnapped him are showing up dead after their release from prison and all evidence points to Lucas. But when sparks fly, the couple can't help themselves.

Sofia is fighting the Don of the Mafia and mages, and they both want to out the couple against each other. When he gets framed, will he believe her or hate another human?

Must read!

Fantastic romance with the Alpha and his feisty detective!

I enjoyed watching Lucas realize that his biggest obstacle to finding true love was himself. Sofia's his perfect match, regardless of their differences, and their romance showed how important trust is to a relationship.

Set in the larger True Mates world, this standalone thrusts us right into the middle of the battle between the Lycans and the Mages. Filled with excitement, betrayal, and heartbreaking secrets, this story was immediately captivating and quickly turned into a non-stop read.

I love the way the author weaves together updates on characters from previous books along with glimpses of future main characters all without ever taking the focus off the current couple and the road to their triumphant HEA. Each of these books is an adventure in itself; together they're an epic journey that I hope will never end. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

The Alpha Rises!!!

Aww Lucas, Lucas , Lucas!! I was so very happy to learn that Lucas’s True Mate is a human!! Sofia is a strong passionate fierce woman who instinctively knows that there is something special about Lucas even though she’s human!! It’s amazing to see an alpha fall to his knees and submit to anyone but seeing how devoted he is to Sofia it is like she is the sun and he revolves around her!! That is what I love most about reading Alicia Montgomery’s books is the instant sizzle that explodes between mates and then to see the characters try to fight the very instincts that keep drawing them in...its very addicting and that is exactly what Lucas and Sofia are an addiction that you just can’t put down!! Absolutely amazing!!!

This series just keep getting better and better. I will say that I wasn't sure what to expect from this book. This was definitely not a Insta-love story. Lucas and Sofia even though they were true mates had to work for their HEA. After reading about Lucas twin Adrianna's and their friend Astrid's stories, I wasn't sure that Sofia's character would mesh well into Lucas's world or with Lucas. I mean Lucas and Sofia seemed to have so much anger and issues to work through. I was afraid they would fight the whole way and not in a good way. I don't even know why I doubt it everything work out great in the end. Overall a enjoyable and entertaining read. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.

This is what was happening to Lucas during Adrianna's drama in Claiming the Alpha. Lucas is once again having to relive some unpleasant periods in his life. One of the twins kidnappers is found dead and he's a person of interest. Sophia, the detective, becomes obsessed with Lucas and wants to take him down. Once she gets to know him, she is ready to fight with everything she's got to save him. The mages are pulling out the big guns and things get worse. One thing I didn't like was Lucas' rant to Sophia after his arrest. He didn't even listen to her. Alpha or not, I wanted to smack him. The ending left me bouncing in excitement waiting for the next book. You will not be bored with this series.

I cannot say enough good things about this book. I physically lost sleep because I could not put it down. There was so much going on. The characters, both new and old, were amazing. Every page was full of action and suspense. The heat was on high and the love was deep. An exciting, fast paced read. With each book in this series, Ms. Montgomery continues to develop the True Mates world. This was in my top 3 for the year, and I read a lot. So, about the ending. There was a HEA, no cliffhanger. But oh my, what she left us with was a hint of just how much more is yet to come. And I can't wait. This is my voluntary opinion of an advanced copy I received.

Wow!!!!! Suspenseful! Wonderful read. I received the ARC copy today and couldn’t put it down!! I want to read it again! New people, people I know, back stories, action packed. I think this is my new favorite of the original series and the new generation series. It’s just beginning and it ends with a bang! I loved this book. Set us up for continuing this saga. I think you’ll love it too.

These Lycans can never just have an easy life, huh? Lucas is about to be the new Alpha of New York, and of COURSE he's drawn to a detective who is investigating him. Even though she's human and he doesn't like humans. These two don't just have one hurdle, but many. Sofia is nothing like the girls he's used to, she's tough but down to earth.

This is full of action, suspense, CHAOS. Just when one issue settles down, another pops up. And in true Alicia style, she barely gives you the happy ever after before teasing you with more to come.

This is the third book of the True Mates- next generation stories. Initially I could not work out how Lucas who hates humans would fall for Sofia , a human detective. He can’t help it - it’s the pull of the true mates. 😍I loved how they both smelt different things when they were around each other. In this story, the mages are still a threat but there are threats to Sofia from her job and from Lucas and his bloodlust although I love how she deals with the latter and of course, their chemistry is off the charts. The author has done it again. I can’t wait to the next one.

I have never been so hangover as with this book. I wanna go back and read the series and then read this book again. It brought me back to why I love these characters and storylines. It's easy to read but it keeps you pinned to a place until you've finished. Then you just wanna go back and read it all over again. Like I said before, this series is amazing and no matter what story comes next I will probably love it as much as the ones before it.

Great read, and fantastic story. Wish I could live in that world. Sigh.

Soon to be Alpha of New York Lucas is dealing with more than his fair share of drama. Detective Sofia Selinofoto is driven, intelligent, determined and principled. Qualities though admirable, have caused her some problems at work. Lucas and Sofia are on a crash course with fate when aspects of his life intersect with her suspicious death case. Their burgeoning relationship is antagonistic, but is no match for their attraction to one another. I've enjoyed each of the True Mate's books, and look forward to seeing what comes next.

True Mates

This is the third book in the second generation of true Mates, and happens concurrently with book 2. The hero is a success in business and as alpha, but he seems to have really lost his way in his personal life. The heroine is battling the consequences of doing the right thing in her profession, and has no personal life. I felt she was special from the first, but it took him a while to catch on. Eventually, their HEA is assured, and all we are left to wonder is what are the bad guys up to? I’m looking forward to book 4!

I volunteered to read an advanced review copy of this book and i was not obligated to leave this review. So, it's Lucas' story to find a HEA and what a way to literally stumble over the One for him. He is disapointed in humans ever since he and Adrianna had been captured two decades ago and therefore he just can't trust them. So when Detective Sofia Selinofoto is investigating a murder je is not quite fond of her. Nevertheless, his Wolf has other ideas and so the story gets going. When the mages hit again it's Sofia he blames and finds his opinion in humans confirmed. They obviously split and life goes in for two weeks when she's captured and about to die. Lucas finally comes to his senses that not Sofia is the evil one but the mages - and time is running out... I absolutely loved this one. Alicia outdid herself. Such a very well writtien story that adds up to the nines. Perfect.

I’m really enjoying this new series based on the previous one.

The hints of his story from the other books captured my attention. I was intrigued to read his story and learn more about his control issues. The wait was worth it. He manages to find a woman that can connect to his wolf. The course of their love does not run smoothly. They both have deadly enemies to face. I am looking forward to the next book.

When a human detective gets a little to close to what happened in the past things get a little heated between Lucas and Detective Selinofoto. Will Lucas be able to handle this human interference or will he succumb to the sweet smelling detective and cave in his hate for humans. A little twist and lots of inter action in this book. Looking forward to the next one.

So good

I love this series so much. Lucus and Sofia's story is so good. Lucus has all sorts of demons including not being fond of humans which is kind of awkward because Sofia is very human, but they have so much in common. Sofia calms and brings out the best in lucus and lucus helps Sofia to become less of a workaholic.
These characters were made for each other and if u love a little mystery then this is the book for u.

Lucas was raised knowing he would some day be the Alpha of New York.
Sofia knew she always wanted to be a Police Woman like her mother.
Lucas and his sister were kidnapped by the Mages 20 years ago. Lucas hates humans..Wants nothing to do with them.
When Sofia comes looking for Lucas, thinking he has something to do with a murder of one of the men responsible for the kidnapping...Sparks fly.
Great addition to the True Mates series. Hopefully many more to come

There’s something about Sofia that Lucas just can’t shake. She’s gotten under his skin and he doesn’t quite know what to do about it. Sofia is human, the one thing Lucas hates. He doesn’t trust them, and knows they hurt his kind. Although their attraction is irresistible, will it prove fatal when their pasts finally catch up to them? It’s suspenseful, it’s gripping, it’s a bumpy ride of courage and acceptance in this latest instalment form the True Mates Generations.

I knew it!! In the first book in the "True Mates Generations", there was a brief "meeting" between Lucas and Sophia. At that time I had a tingly feeling telling me that Lucas had met his mate. Either I have ESP or I read way too much by this author! Sophia was the perfect match for Lucas...even if she was human. Can't wait for the next book.

the most interesting thing about realizing that you have been a complete jerk... is now having to apologize. when Lucas realizes that his biggest problem in finding true love, the kind that lasts forever, is himself he needs to regroup and re-strategize. But will his perfect match, the human Sofia accept his change of heart? book 3 in the series of growing tensions between Lycans, humans and the Mages.

What a great read. At first, I didn’t know if Lucas was going to get on my good side. After reading what he went through and why he is the way he is I could completely understand him. However, you can’t stop the pull of True Love. A little more is revealed in each book and more questions are answered. I can’t wait for the next one. I won’t give anymore away, just that you need to read these FANTASTIC books. Happy reading.
