Definitely had a few laugh-out-loud moments. Great little listen. I liked Clare a lot more in this series and love the partnership they now have going on. Would like to see what happens with Miranda and the new guy at the end, so, season 3 please?
I have only one thing to say and it’s more of a question really…BUT WHEN CAN I HAVE SERIES 3!?
This series is an absolute hoot, 6 episodes at 30 mins and I was chuckling away at Miranda’s escapades as a Dominatrix. I love the actors and actress playing the characters. (Miranda voicing herself). It was just so much fun to listen to!
Basically chronicling Miranda’s life, using her real-life stories too, had me in stitches! it was interesting hearing her day to day life and how a whole world she didn’t know opened up to her!
This is perfect for everyone! It is hilarious and rude! Miranda sounds like so much fun and would be definitely a great one to have in your corner. In series 2 when she travels around the country with her sworn enemy Mistress Laveen, aka Claire aka Roommate Dan's girlfriend! Especially travelling to Scotland and how it all unfolds up there left me crying with laughter! Had to stop myself from snorting with laughter a lot as I was listening to it at my desk at work!
This really needs a series 3 so please go to audible and download it now!!!
Another entertaining collection, with Miranda taking a sex-work roadtrip around the UK with her former rival Mistress Laveen (is that how we're spelling it, folks? I assumed 'Levine', as in Adam, but I guess we've none of us seen it written down?). The character development of the two dominatrices (no, I'm not about to google 'plural of dominatrix' on my work computer) is great as they see a little of one another's lives, as while they are from different worlds, their work brings them together.
Hugh Dennis as the Brigadier also developed, happily, coming out of his comic stereotype to become one of Miranda's greatest advocates and best customers. And there were some fantastic one liners in this series that set me off chuckling 'Squashing? We've got you covered!' and so on.
Light entertainment but still not trashy - recommended, and glad to see Miranda gets her third series!
Not as good as last series. This first episode is a bit week. Apparently we are now focusing on the Levine/Miranda relationship which isn't my favourite bit.
I didn't really enjoy Miranda's one-sided pettiness towards Claire which is apparent throughout.
There is also a lot more preachiness about sex workers and stuff and it isn't even subtle. Like just direct speeches about decriminalising prostitution or social media etiquette.
And despite that this series is much more kink-shamey than the last which is disappointing. Many episodes feature a section that seems to just take the piss out of their clients.
Initially chose this series as it looked fun and was recommended by Audible. Turns out it was well worth the download. Lots of humour in the story and I'm left wanting to find out more about the Major. Also, does Miranda find love. What about Dan and Clare? Absolutely loved this series, and opened my eyes about what goes on so close to home. I'll be paying more attention next time I stay at a welcome lodge.
Surely we deserve a 3rd series? Hope @miri_kane gets to enlighten us.
Enjoyable follow up to a light-hearted comedy. Really liked the character development between Ms. Laveen and Miranda. The little bit at Aberdeen was pretty funny too. A little disappointed to know that there is no series 3.
I enjoyed this more than series 1. It felt more fun and with a bit more going on. If was very entertaining, but I still felt that it wasn't quite a romcom as advertised. A comedy for sure, but not a romcom.
Great stuff. Really funny. You get hit with some real stuff in the flow of the story but it's important to know and realise. I'm way up for a season 3.
By FAR my favourite of the first batch of audible original shows. Season two is a natural progression of Miranda and Laveen's relationship - which is a joy to listen in on. Great stuff, already itching to get season 3 into my ear holes.
If you haven't listened to this series yet then you need to remedy it right now. This has been the most hilarious tear inducing series I've ever had the pleasure to listen to.
