After reading Some They Lie by this author I was intrigued to see where her writing would go next.

A cracking psychological thriller with lots of twists and turns. I didn't see the reveal coming at all. I thought the person responsible for turning Kristen 's life upside down was one of the other characters.

I really don't want to give much away and spoil it for others. Will happily be recommending this book to those w
ho enjoy psychological thrillers.

Kristen Scott, single mom to Ollie, was raised by a crazy mother. Kristin was always responsible for taking care of her younger sister, the one thing she really wanted was a normal family home. But that was not to be ....

The divorce was contentious and she's suffering financially. Her ex has remarried and they have a new baby. He misses a lot of his weekends with Ollie, and tells Kristen that she's just going to have to deal with it. Maybe it would be better if he had Ollie all week at his house and Kristen could take him weekends. What a guy!

Her son is being bullied at school .... the same school where she works. The older boy's mother is well known, so not too much is being done about the bullying. And when she challenges the mother herself, she finds herself suspended.

A colleague mentions that if she takes in a foreign student, she gets paid for that really well. Kind of hesitant, she nevertheless applies and is accepted. What she doesn't expect is a 20-something handsome Swede.

But then strange things start happening. Tires of her car get slashed. Her ex doesn't approve of the new man spending time in 'his' life. He's talking about taking custody of Ollie. Her sister has issues that she expects her sister to take care of. And then the danger only escalates.

Kristen has to wonder about all the people in her life .... who would be doing these things?

It's a great beginning with lots of action and suspense. Characters are deftly drawn, warts and all. Suspects are many and varied. A real page turner from start to unexpected finish.

Kristen is a single mother having to take desperate measures by opening her home up to a stranger to bring in some extra income so that she can provide a roof and a warm home for her and her son to live in.

Ollie is a cute kid who is having issues at school with an older boy called Felix. I think the author tackles the subject of bullying well and I was fully on side with Kristen when it comes to Felix’s mother. She infuriated me.

Kristen has a lot going on in her life. Her sister is a constant drain on her emotionally, always wanting attention. Her ex husband is someone else who causes her issues with letting their son down and of course hits the roof when he finds out about a stranger living in the same house as his son. On top of all that there is the run ins with bullying boys mum and Kristen is trying to adjust to life with someone new in her home. I felt worn out for her!

As all this is going on, strange things start to happen. Malicious things at that. As Kristen starts to have fall outs with everyone, it opens wider as to who could be behind it all. The only comfort she gets is from Haiden, the tall, blonde mature student from Sweden who is staying with her.

On His Grave is an enthralling page turner of a read. The suspense and tension builds throughout, just as I would expect from this genre of book. I have to admit I did have my suspicions as to who was behind it which proved correct but the author has other little surprises up her sleeve as well as making you doubt yourself with little red herrings being dropped here and there. All in all a story that kept me hooked and had me racing through the pages for a satisfying climax.

Loved this story, it certainly kept me guessing who was responsible for all the horrible things that were happening to Kristen, this was a fabulous suspense read with plenty of twists through out.

This story got creepier and creepier the more i read,Kristen hasn't had a easy life with her mother being crazy and her younger sister that relied on her all the time, then to top it all off she has gone through a divorce and is bringing her son Ollie up on her own, with her waste of space ex having him on weekends as and when he can be bothered to show up.She is struggling with money so when a work friend suggests taking in a foreign student this seems like a good idea.

How wrong can you get as when he arrives he isn't in his teens as she thought a mature student would be he is 23 and a fit tall swedish man who is polite and good on the eyes. This is not going well right from the off as her ex husband does not like another man being in the house with his son living there so problems start to get to her, what with her son Ollie being bullied at school as well it all seems to be getting her down.

This was fast paced and it escalated very quickly with all the strange things happening at home and Kristen does not know who to trust and who not to trust, this story will keep you on your toes through out with how this all unfolds.Fabulous psychological thriller.Four and half stars.

Started off entertaining and normal. It got creepy fast! I loved it! My heart was pounding while reading! Kristen was a likable character and Ollie seemed just adorable! I felt for Kristen having to deal with the money issues and all, but I understood. All in all an enjoyable read! I would like to read more like this!

it was a thrilling read , but i was disappointed by the solution , as i was constantly guessing und expecting some surprise or connection with the heroine`s troubled past .
the reason for the broken pots , smashed window , slashed tires seemed too easy and i could not picture the responsible character for all these actions .

What a gem of a book this is. How I overlooked it I’ll never know.
A young divorced mother Kristen Scott is struggling to make ends meet and decides to take in a foreign student who is studying at the local University.
She applies to the housing department and is duly accepted.
Haiden Lindgren is the Swedish student that will be staying with her as a lodger. He settles in nicely, gets on well with her young son Ollie and on the surface things appear to be fine. But something is not quite right with his set up as Kristen later finds out.
I found this a great read and I know as always with this author I will have hours of excitement and enjoyment.

This is a well written book. Kristen was a well drawn and likeable woman although not without issues and anxieties. I felt that the people around her were not quite so convincing, except perhaps Ollie.
The suspense and unease builds up well and the different strands make for an interesting read with several possibilities of who is doing what.
However for me, this story didn't quite reach it's potential. It was a quick read and I quite liked it but isn't as good as "Some They Lie", this author's previous psychological thriller.
I don't want to give anything away so I will leave it there.

someone is lying but who?
What a read .. started off slightly slow but took a troubling turn 😨 poor Kristen couldn't seem to catch a break, struggling andd sacrificing for her young boy she makes the hard decision to allow a stranger to move into her house when odd incidents happen... there's no shortage of suspects Violet the immature selfish sister, Stephen the ****whole ex husband, Lisa the new wife and Haiden the mysterious foreign exchange student. If you like a cheeky little thriller I would highly recommend this! A great summer read that will keep you guessing until the end 😱

Brilliant!!

I liked all the characters....even Fillip at first, I disliked Violet but later on realised that she was just scared of losing Kristen. I thought Kristen was such a good person and her priority was Ollie in the whole story, it was such a sad ending for her but she survived, it makes me think though, I hope these foreign students that come to the UK are the real deal?? Who knows? There's a thought. This author has some great ideas and I thoroughly enjoyed the story! I'm off now to find and delve into another one of hers.....thank you M K Farrar! 😊

Who can you trust.

After I have finished reading a book I like to mull it over and then try to either connect with a certain character or come up with a moral to the story. This time it was a moral. The moral: Be very careful who you invite into your life and be extremely cautious just who you cross paths with. Though you might think you are blaming the right person you could be very wrong. Good thriller.

This story is very well written, and it has some brilliant twists and turns that kept me guessing till the very end. This author really knows how to develop and present a psychological thriller, a must read if you like this genre and if you don’t like the genre but love a good mystery it’s still a must read for you!

My second book by this author, I am equally thrilled! My first thought is oh no, NEVER bring a stranger into your house with a child. But I have never been desperate for money so I cannot say I would never. But either way, this story is fascinating, intense, with lots of action and very well-written. This author is an excellent story-teller. I look forward to reading more from her.

a financially stressed single mother takes in a foreign exchange student for extra money. the student is not what she expected. Closer to her age, he is handsome and personable. And soon he becomes indispensable. But is he the man of her dreams or a nightmare?

I was disappointed in this novel. It is predictable. Kristen is whiny and the crazy mother/needy sister/difficult ex contributed nothing. The plot plays out as expected. It is okay but not something I would recommend.

While I was expecting what was going to happen, there is still a mystery in the story that pushed me to keep reading. There is sex but not prolonged and not very detailed. The characters are developed. The author has a knack for making the reader feel the despair Kristen is experiencing. Good story. Wow, cannot believe I wasted time and money on this shlock. Totally unoriginal and derivative. The villain is super obvious from the start so I figured that was a red herring and a huge twist was coming. Nope. Tedious and dully written shlock.

This was a quick, easy read, but nothing special. A single mother struggling to make ends meet takes in a Swedish exchange student. Someone is vandalizing her home, and he comes to her rescue as they developed a relationship.

Once it twisted, it TWISTED

It took me a long while to get into this book. If I had sat down and finished it in one weekend, I’d have enjoyed it more. It took some interesting turns in the end! I liked it and would definitely read more from this author.

Fantastic! The book starts off with a struggling single Mom trying to make ends meet. Then the spider start weaving a suspenseful web. For a minute I thought Kristin was going crazy and then BAM it turned. The story had me flipping the pages at the end. The writing was fabulous.
