It's hard enough being an undergraduate student, an intern at Downtown Manhattan's police station, and a bouncer at a local bar. Add her now ex-boyfriend who recently dumped her for the school's resident bimbo—oh, and she's a werewolf. Mackenzie Grey meets her match when she is kidnapped by the Brooklyn Pack and tossed between Sebastian and Jonah—the Alpha and the Beta. Being a lone-wolf in the city is dangerous, and now that the Pack has found her, so can every supernatural being in the Tri-State area. And not even her sarcastic, smart mouth can get her out of this. When a string of kidnappings involves Mackenzie in supernatural politics, she questions her new acquaintances and finds unlikely allies. Can she escape Pack law and keep her freedom—or will she be condemned to an unwanted path. This boxed set contains all four books in the Mackenzie Origins series plus a sneak peak at the first chapter of From the Grave in the brand new series Mackenzie Trials coming December 2018.
Karina Espinosa is a Colombian-American author best known for the Mackenzie Grey series, the Blood Weaver Trilogy, and her latest romantasy hit, The Dragon’s Ballad. When she’s not writing fierce heroines and magical chaos, she’s globe-trotting, bingeing Asian dramas, or teaching college students how to write essays—with a coffee in hand and fictional body count on the rise.
Follow her for more coffee-fueled chaos and character heartbreak.
I haven't read a shifter book in years, I forgot how much I loved them. Reading Shift, Karina Espinosa has revived my love for this genre. I really got hooked straight from the beginning. I really loved the characters, they were so realistic that you can't help but to connect with each one of them. Mackenzie was very headstrong, I loved her character. She was very determined to be herself and not what others wanted her to be. Sebastian and Jonah, what can I say about these two except they are both so very hot! Sebastian, I really hated in the beginning, I didn't want to like him but he grows on you. Jonah, he wears his heart on his sleeve and I'm calling dibs on him. He is def my fave character out of all the characters in the book. All three of the main characters were stubborn and set in their ways so there was a lot of head butting, but it was so fast paced, once I started there was no putting it down. Each turn of the page there was more drama unfolding, def kept me up all night reading. I also think Jackson needs his own spin off. I really enjoyed reading this and feel others will as well, I highly recommend reading Shift and I can't wait to see what this author has in store for the rest of the series.
So let’s start off with I loved this series but seriously I almost stopped reading because the main is such an immature child. I figured after the first book it would get better but it didn’t. So even though I really didn’t like her character I kept reading because the story line was so good. It was very emotional and it kept me involved.
I managed to listen through the box set, but just barely. The storyline is actually good but having to live through the entire history of the women’s liberation movement as it relates to the werewolf world is a bit trying. There’s your obligatory female protagonist that’s torn between two absolutely delicious perfect male hunks. Oh, and the MC borderline socially stunted. Once again, the actual storyline is pretty good.

I liked the romance, the trials and falls, the actions and the badass female lead. That and heroine who belives in things, who fights and falls and gets up again, and who doesn't need someone to rescue her but accepts help when needed. I love the friendships in this series, they are true and heartwarming. A nice action fantasy with a sturdy plot and enjoyable twists... A definite recommendation.
I flew through this bind up of four novels as was very much intrigued by what the author did with the story and the plot and I wanted to see what the outcome would be asap.
However, I felt rather annoyed with a female main character that behaved more than dumb in more than one occasion. It gets lame rather quickly.
One of the best series I have ever read. I loved the characters and the story. I laughed, I cried (bad Karina) and I cheered with the wins. I only have one bad thing to say, and it’s about using correct spelling and words. Spellcheck isn’t infallible.
This series has it all... Suspense, romance, supernaturals!! I absolutely LOVED it! Mackenzie is a force to be reckoned with. She is fierce and not afraid to stand up for others who need it. If you like to read books about girls who kick butt, this is it.
It totally kicked a$$!! I love this characters personality!!! She’s got a mouth just like mine!! Made my husband and family question my insanity at times from busting out loud laughing at her one liners!!
I have submitted reviews for the titles for each book included within this series set box. Each review can be found on the individual title's page. These reviews were submitted after listening to the audiobook of the series set box.(Audible Membership)
I was drawn in and truly couldn't stop reading. I am emotionally wrung out. Though Mackenzie often made me want to shake her I was drawn in by the story line. I do not think I can read the next book in the series - my emotions can't do it again
Excellent read love main characters has it all supernatural romance. If you like supernatural characters, you will love this.cant wait for new book in December
Struggled through the first book, and started on the second. It felt like a completely different series, but I still couldn't bring myself to finish it.
I love this series. I have read it numerous times. It gets better and better with every book. Lots of actions and humor. The characters are fun and exciting.
I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters and how they came together. I was sad that Jonah died but his death was not in vain since his blood was the last ingredient for a cure.I am glad that she got rid of the bad people responsible for her mother's death and some loved ones. Can't wait to read more on kenzie and Sebastian.
