Dry Spell

Rate this book
30 Days.
Liam Daley assured me that was all he needed to make me forget my ex-boyfriend.
I didn’t believe it, not when I’d been in love for so many years, and had been holding out for just as many. But he’d made me curious.

I met Liam in a bar while on a prowl to finally put an end to my dry spell. Just as he was drawn to me, I was also intrigued by his dark demeanor. His boldness. His mysterious gaze. His interest in me.
When he made his wild offer, I had no idea what I had agreed to, or that I was in for one hell of an emotional ride.

Could Liam be the man to un-break my heart and help me get over my ex?
Will our agreement crumble before the thirtieth day due to my inability to let go of the past?

3.00 Stars. (BW/WM). Audible 4 hour novella audiobook narrated by Sheisie,

Setting: Current day New York City and surrounding areas.

Trope: Challenge of making you love me. Forced proximity and same bed.

Characters:
1. Willow Benson, heroine, is a 27-year-old media tech employee. Willow has been romantically rejected by her boyfriend of over six years because he has relegated her to the friendship category.
2. Liam Daley, hero, is a 29-year-old wealthy composer who has been a widower for three years.
3. Chad is Willow's former beau.

This story is interesting and the characterization of the hero, Liam is good he's very likable; however, the heroine, Willow is annoying. All other elements are well written. Willow is devastated when Chad tells her that he's marrying his current girlfriend after one year of dating; so, Willow decides to go to the neighborhood bar and have a one night stand with a stranger. Liam sees Willow when she enters the bar, discerns what she's attempting to do and offers her an alternative action..move in to his home and.give him a month to make her love him. She accepts the challenge.
She also continues to accept calls from her ex in hopes that he'll choose her. Throughout most of the story Willow jeopardizes a loving relationship with Liam by nursing the false hope that Chad will reciprocate her feelings. At the end, she and Liam are destined for the alter of marriage.

This is the perfect novella to read when you want a spicy romance with a plot.

Willow is hung up on her ex but when she finds out he’s engaged she decides she needs to find a one night stand. Going to the local lounge she is hopefully but man after man she seeks over leaves, she gives up. Until she spots a man further down the bar. Something about him screams confidence. He offers her the opportunity to fall for him in 30 days and get over her ex. She thinks it’s a crazy idea but then thinks, what the hell am I going to lose.

She goes to his gorgeous home and he wines and dines her. He doesn’t offer himself physically up to her until he knows she’s ready. That includes kissing. Day over day, they talk, joke around, and move along like a couple. The walls come down for both of them. Until her ex texts her to tell her he wants to talk.

Love at First Sight

It was love at first sight for Liam. It took Willow a little longer to realize that she loved Liam. Liam was a good man and proved that in how he treated Willow. I'm glad Willow realized what she had with Liam before it was too late and that she didn't allow Chad to ruin it. I really want me a Liam. I'm glad they have their HEA.

I went into this book blind because I absolutely love this author and let me tell you this book did not disappoint. The story is very relatable and goodness gracious this book is spicy. I also love Liam the MMC. This man has gone through some tragedy, but it’s still open for love and willing to take a risk and is just overall nice guy with the perfect touch of possessiveness and I love how he challenges Willow, the FMC to do better and focus on herself. A great quick read.

Meh

Short story so obviously it felt rushed. I just couldn't get into it mostly because I couldn't get over her agreeing to move in with him the same night she met him. Literally no one would do that. Also, the hero just comes off completely whipped.

Leap Of Faith

Girl, you waited six years for Chad after a break up?! It never fails, you start living your best life and people trying to bring you down. Liam showed Willow how a man cherishes a woman. The best closure ever

Great short story

This was such a wonderful little pick me up of a story. Sometimes it's hard to move on in life and this book showcased the journey of Willow's struggle to do just that. Liam had the strength to love her through it all.

Simple story

A sweet romance without much complication (or depth) reminiscent of the old school girl meets boy variety. The heroine had her misgivings and they were rendered in an honest, non-dramatic way. The hero was so loving and thoughtful, adored the heroine. Cute, quick read.

Meh..

The concept of the story was intriguing but the execution was lackluster. The story was too short to develop the characters properly. The conversations were a bit stilted and lacking. Rewrite this book, I believe it could be great.
