Proud to be a Cheesehead. I was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. If you are able to withstand the frigid winter air, Wisconsin has some of the most down to earth, honest people around. I passed a very happy childhood there, climbing trees, and running along the river.
Proud to be a McEachern Indian. At fifteen, we moved to a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia. The warm, Southern culture touched my heart.
Proud to be a Cougar. I attended Brigham Young University, where I graduated with a BS in Human Development.
Proud to be a Cuate. I spent a year and a half in Guatemala as a Christian missionary, spreading the message of hope and love. The Guatemalan people are some of the kindest people you will meet.
Proud to be a Human Resource Professional. I was employed for many years in the field of Human Resources.
Proud to be a Wife and Mother. And I thought that Human Resources was a demanding career. Nothing has been more difficult or more rewarding than being a wife and mother. My happiness is centered in the happiness of my family.
Proud to be an Author. Writing has been a source of great joy in my life. I hope to share with my readers a piece of myself in every novel. I hope to uplift and entertain others through my written word.
The biggest compliment I can give this clean romance fiction title How to Love Again, for the First Time/How to Catch a Kiss is I highlighted the book 30 times. Plus I plan on quoting, following, and borrowing a lot of the good counsel and principles on not just romantic relationships, but on all of our human relationships. Good counsel and principles on not just romantic relationships and other human relationships, but on finding joy and lifting the burdens and adversities of not just yourself, but others as well. All this stretching of the mind and heart was done very seamlessly without distracting from a very entertaining swoony romantic comedy. I love when authors are tricky tricksters and covertly teach me things, while still entertaining me and providing an reading escape from everyday life. Due to some of the multi-millionaire and billionaire characters there is a lot of fantasy locales and luxury fun escape activities to soak up. Plus lines that will make you laugh so hard you might spew your drink out your nose.
This new author to me, Sarah Gay, has a new intrigued fan.
Religion: A secular romance, but mild religious elements in relation to grief due to the death of a loved one. The heroine Victoria (Tori), the heroine's sister Augusta (Gussie), another major female character Annie, and the heroine's 10 year old son Ethan all have very wholesome values and live them.
Language: No profanity.
Sensuality content: Clean. Sweet kisses only. No sexual innuendo. A side couple in this book whom are also are the hero and heroine of another prior book in the series have chosen to be chaste during dating and then through their engagement. Tori admits she was pregnant with her son Ethan at her wedding with her husband, because they didn't wait. There is a discussion on protecting your child's growing mind from morally inappropriate images that might appear on seemly innocent places like a computer or other electronic device by educating them what to do if they hypothetically are ever in that situation.
Source: My purchased library. This book by Sarah Gay was published under two titles and series in 2017. I just finished it under the original title and series as How to Love Again, for the First Time.
Second Chance: Terrance Family Romance Book 2 is by Sarah Gay. This romance takes place in Utah. It is a sweet romance with no decadent love scenes or language. It is the story of a second chance at love and fighting to keep it. Tori was devastated by the death of her husband from cancer. Now she had to face life without him. She still had her Mother, who also was fighting, cancer; her twin sister, Gussie; her son, Ethan; and her therapy dog, Rambo. But were these enough to get her through the grief she was feeling. She would rather stay in bed and mourn than get up and do anything. Gussie, however, kept pushing her to get out and do something. They also had Annie who was doing a biography of their Mother and they had agreed to also do interviews with Annie. The trouble with this, for Tori, was that Annie had a private investigator who helped her out. Tori is attracted to him which makes her think she is being disloyal to her husband. Zee is a millionaire who now does documentaries which don’t make a lot of money but are what he wants to do. When he sees Tori for the first time, he is enchanted. As he gets to know her, he is in awe. What can he do to make her his?
When I first bought the book I didn’t realize the main male character was a Billionaire. I am not into Billionaire books I normally like books that include every day people. However I did enjoy this book very much. It was about Tori and Zee. Zee is the Billionaire. Tori has a twin sister named Gussie and she is also the Mother of Ethan a preteen boy. She is also a recent widow of about 3 years. She is having a hard time moving on with her life. She meets and is attracted to Zee but feels guilty and feels she is betraying her deceased husband. She is a loving person. She loves her Mother, sister, son, and is a good friend. I find the story very heartwarming. One of my favorite lines in the story is one said to Zee by Ethan. “We don’t tell secrets in my family. We tell surprises. My mom says that sometimes bad people try to get you to keep secrets, but secrets are meant to hide bad things, and surprises are things we’re excited to share later.”
One of the things I like is that there is no profanity and no sexually explicit dialogue. Just good storytelling.
Another thing that I thought was unique is the storyline centered around the service being rendered to refugees. I thought it was an enjoyable part of the story.
Romance, clean, series, but stand alone This was more of a 3.5 for me as a reader, I think I enjoyed it more at the end. I think Tori pulling back pulled me out of the story a bit. I understood her hurting heart, but wished for more something from her. That being said, the way the story resolved, with the film, the refugees and the final scenes were more what I love in a novel. Zee was a great character, his fun-loving genuine character and honest heart made for a a great hero. Both Tori and Zee had some learning and growth as characters. Tori's journey to figure out that loving again, wasn't being disloyal to her dead husband, was an interesting journey. Zee's determination, attraction, and respect for her along with Annie and Paxton made for a fun story that was well worth the reading journey. I loved the stronger ending. Both Tori and Zee definitely came to some understanding, growth, and of course a lovely romance. Well worth the read, and definitely a stronger finish that I really enjoy in a novel.
I’m going to be honest here. I don’t like romance books. I prefer the heavy Classics. They style of writing, the subject matter, everything about them. Except for the fact that they are not books you can read in short snippets of time. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I picked it up as a favor to someone, but there are some definite places of pure inspiration and insight. It’s a quick read, perfect for a long train commute, or short airplane ride. It’s witty, and I like how the characters interact with the characters from the author’s other books.
Sarah Gay made a great story of this book. Zee and Tori were great lead characters along with Rambo, a cute little tea cup dog belonging to Tori. Annie and Paxton get married in this book. Zee's sister Meri is introduced in this book - now I am looking forward to reading the next book
This story of Zee and Tori is well done. As two people struggle to find where they belong in each other’s lives, they have both ups and downs. Tori struggles with her loss and the feeling of a new love. Zee struggles to give her space as he falls for her. It is a cute story of “ firsts”.
This is a beautiful love story with breathtaking and adorable characters and heartwarming story of love and understanding and love for the past and new hope for the future.
I cried from sorrow; laughed at circumstances and shenanigans; got goosebumps on goosebumps from touching life lessons; and finally cried from happiness. This book evoked heartfelt feelings down to the tips of my toes.
This is a great book with a sweet clean romance. Dealing with the death of a spouse is crushing and it's hard to move on. Sometimes that second chance can be everything you need.
What a amazing story that truly touches the heart, this sweet inspirational story about discovering that you can love again was definitely a joy to read. A excellent experience in reading that everyone can enjoy. This one is a keeper!
Loved this well written book. Delves into issues of faith, hope and love in creative, intelligent and insightful ways. The characters are engaging as they handle challenges and dreams. Really enjoyed this book.
Another great book in in the Terrence Family romance. Tori a young house wife who lost her husband to cancer and is now raising her young son when she meets Zee a young man who is doing a documentary on immigrants. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
What a wonderful story of second chances and first experiences. Tori and Zee are a fantastic couple and will be a very good family with Ethan. It's great to catch up with Annie and Paxton as well. I would recommend this story to any reader that enjoys clean romances.
Tori is mourning her husband when she meets Zee. She is not ready to start dating again. However, her twin sister thinks she should and tries to get her to go out with Zee. This is a very inspiring story.
I really liked this story. The setting in Park City Utah is near my home and I loved all the high adventure firsts that Tori and Zee experienced. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
Loved it I loved how they highlighted that we all have to rise up from what brings us down emotionally, physically, and spiritually to heal and try again.
