"Ending my Silence" is unlike any book I've ever read before. Also, the fact that it is a true story made it quite distressing to read. However, somehow, I found myself riveted to the book from start to finish.

Lydia Lin's account of her childhood and working life are lovely in some parts but mostly nightmarish. What she went through is incredibly painful. What her parents went through as they tried to bring up their two children is incredible too. The psychological on the children was undoubtedly harmful.

I admire Lydia's brevity for having written this book & sharing it with the world. Writing can be therapeutic. However, putting her story out there will certainly help other people that may be going through similar pain but unable to speak out.

The advice that Lydia gives in the book is that should anyone find himself/herself in a similar situation, please seek professional help.

Powerful Story

Wow. Powerful yet sad story of a life of abuse by those who are supposed to love you. The abuse started as a child and continued into adulthood. It seems it didn't matter who she confided in they would end up abusing her as well. Emotionally, socially, sexually and mentally. She could trust no one. I applaud her for sharing her story and the bravery of took to open up and share such intimate details that caused her so much pain. Great read. Powerful story. My prayer is that it reaches the masses and gives strength to others to open up and share their stories.

This is an amazing story and sheds light on what many people suffer at the hands of their parents. Suffering psychological, emotional and mental abuse as a child, sets one up for a cycle of abuse in adulthood. A harrowing story that brings you inside the mind of the author. Thank you for your bravery to tell your story.
