Am I the Killer? - Is it possible to kill someone and not remember because of a brain injury?
A brain injured veteran is accused of murder and has plenty of motive. He claims he cannot recall the events of the fateful night because of his injury. Is he being truthful or using it as an excuse?
Vanished - Obsession can be deadly. What's worse than a missing man?
A dead one.
Following a messy divorce and the messier death of his partner, Detective Frank Luca needed a break. He needed sunlight and clean air. He needed a re-boot. So, he's traded the smog of New Jersey for the sun-kissed beaches of southwest Florida. Babes, bikinis, and booze.
The easy life, right? Wrong.
Working a missing persons case, Frank gets pulled back into the filth he's tried so hard to avoid. Worse, now he's falling for the missing man's beautiful wife.
Who does that?
Florida may be beautiful, but its beauty is only skin deep. There's rot under all that beauty--and death.
The Serenity Murder - When a detective second-guesses his gut, he'll have to get creative to catch the killer.
Luca worries cancer and divorce have dulled his razor-sharp instincts. So the detective is relieved when his next murder case seems like a no-brainer.
When the wealthy victim is found dead in her private-island home, the gold-digging husband seems like the obvious killer.
As Luca digs deeper and follows the clues, however, he uncovers a whole new line-up of possible suspects. No longer able to rely on his gut feelings, Luca puts the victim's sordid affairs and her rivalries under the microscope.
With time running out, Detective Luca must find a way to regain his swagger and solve the case before the killer strikes again.
Dan is a USA Today and Amazon best seller author, who wrote his first story at the age of ten and enjoys telling stories and jokes.
Dan gets his story ideas by exploring the question; What if?
In almost every situation he finds himself in, Dan starts exploring what if this or that happened? What if this person died, was hurt, or did something unusual or illegal?
Dan’s non-stop mind spin provides him with plenty of material to weave into interesting stories.
A fan of books and films that have twists and are difficult to predict, Dan crafts his stories to prevent the reader from guessing correctly. He writes each and every day, forcing the words out when necessary and has written over twenty novels to date. It’s not a matter of wanting to write, Dan simply has to.
Dan passionately believes people can realize their dreams if they focus and act, and he encourages just that.
His favorite saying is – “The price of discipline is always less than the cost of regret”
Dan likes to remind people to get the negativity out of their lives. He feels it is contagious and advises people to steer clear of negative people. He believes having a true, positive mind set makes it feel like life is rigged in your favor. When he gets off base, he tells himself, ‘You can’t have a good day with a bad attitude.’
Married with two daughters and a needy Maltese, Dan lives in Southwest Florida. A New York native, Dan teaches at local colleges, writes novels, and plays tenor saxophone in several jazz bands. He also drinks way too much wine and never, ever takes himself too seriously.

This is a delightful and well-written series that I looked forwarding to reading each day. There is plenty of suspense as to who the murderer might be and surprises along the way. Worth your time to read.
The series is uneven. The second and third books are better organized than the first: that one's plot, such as it is, is hard to follow. The author's compulsion to write "dialect" is also very annoying, and coupled with numerous typos and semi-incomprehensible introductions of new characters here and there are real issues. The procedural aspects are interesting but hardly make up for these defects. They're hardly "mysteries" at all. We're left in no doubt half way through who the killer is and who he isn't. Too bad: these could have been much better done.
This series was well put together with characters of great development, especially Luca. I love that he’s so caring, but still devoted to his job. What I don’t like is the way the author just flashes by his alleged divorce from the first to second book and the loss of his partner, JJ. That should have been just a tad more developed after their prominence in the first book. Must have missed the Jersey bits, but I kept seeing those references as well. I loved the storylines of the three books, and can’t wait to see where book 4 goes. Not sure if I’m gonna like Luca and Vargas getting closer, but we will see. Let’s get back to it!
Nice summer read with great twists. Enjoyed the characters and the wine references. The clothing descriptions are lost on me, not my cup of tea. But overall well worth a look.
Three murder cases told from the viewpoint of a detective with real life problems. The murder plots are a bit thin but the detective characterization is wonderful.
I received these books free to review and really thank the author and Goodreads. It’s a mystery very suspenseful And good from page 1 until the end. I recommend
I am hooked on this police procedure criminal investigation series. It is surprising to me that I am, as I am a big fan of romantic suspense, and these books have very limited romance and no steamy scenes. My full reviews can be found under the individual books. 5 Stars- Am I A Killer? 3 Stars- Vanished 4 Stars- The Serenity Murders.
