این کتاب روایتی است فانتزی از یک ماجراجویی دینی. محمدجواد که در پی یافتن ردی از فضاییها وارد زیرزمین خانهشان میشود، در کنج زیرزمین و در میان کارتنهای کتاب، با پرندهای آشنا میشود که او را بهسوی ماجراهای پیچیده و زیادی میبرد.
ویژگی اصلی رمان «محمدجواد و شمشیر ایلیا» رویکرد او به قرآن است. رویکردی که تازگی و بکر بودن، شاخصه اصلی آن است. محمدجواد به باغ قرآن میرود و در آنجا با شخصیتهای زیادی آشنا میشود؛ شخصیتهایی که هر کدام قسمتی از خمیر وجودی محمدجواد را تغییر میدهند.

بریدهای از کتاب را در یکی از کانالهای تلگرامی دیدم. به نظرم جالب آمد. یعنی همان یک پاراگراف آنقدر جاذبه داشت که ترغیب شوم کتاب را بخوانم. از زمانی که کتاب را دست گرفتم تا زمانی که در صفحات پایانی قصه بودم متوجه نشدم چقدر طول کشید. داستان روان و جذابی را میخواندم و متوجه نشدم چقدر زود یک داستان نوجوان خواندهام. روایتی متفاوت با رنگ و بوی دینی!
«محمدجواد و شمشیر ایلیا» اثر فاطمه مسعودی برای مخاطب نوجوان نوشته شده ولی من به عنوان مخاطب بزرگسال را نیز به خود جذب کرد و اجازه نداد که رهایش کنم. البته در اواسط داستان اندکی خستهکننده شد، ولی در مجموع راضی بودم از اینکه یک رمان نوجوان خواندهام. رمانی که نویسنده موقعیتهای تازهای در آن خلق کرده و خلاقیت او در داستانپردازی توجه برانگیز بود.
رمانی در ژانر فانتزی که نویسنده کوشش کرده با زبان داستان مفاهیمی دینی را به مخاطب نوجوان منتقل کند. اما بیان یک مفهوم دینی سبب نشده نویسنده به ورطه شعار دادن بیفتد، بلکه خلاقانه و با استفاده از ظرفیتهای داستانی اثری پرکشش و متفاوت خلق کرده که بیشک میتواند توجه مخاطب نوجوان را به خود جلب کند. اثری که با یک آغاز شگفتانگیز خواننده را به دنیایی که مهجور است، میبرد.

The fantasy atmosphere of the book is completely Iranian and local. The author has made a lot of efforts to go beyond the western spaces and reach a native model to create an Iranian-Islamic fantasy. In fact, it can be said that "Mohammed Javad and Shamsir Ilia" is the first fantasy novel with the approach of teaching Quranic concepts. The author has made a lot of efforts to narrate a good story, a story that not only does not suffer from misunderstanding but also takes the story to deeper intellectual layers.
Fatemeh Masoudi has used formed elements and fantasy content well and has shown that through a kind of realism that is based on religious and holy concepts, useful words can be said for today's children and teenagers.

ایدهی کتاب جالب بود. اما گاهی احساس میکردم بخشهایی از متن اضافهست و قابل حذف.
