"If you're into snarky heroines, murder mysteries, kickass fight scenes, wild new worlds, and a dah of romance--Sunaya is your girl!" - Angela Roquet, USA TODAY bestselling author.

This boxed set contains all 8 books in the COMPLETE Baine Chronicles Series by New York Times Bestselling Author Jasmine Walt. This kick-ass urban fantasy series has been compared to books by Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Karen Marie Moning, and more. You're sure to enjoy it if you like spunky heroines, kick-ass fight scenes, wild new worlds and sizzling, slow-building romance.

From the inside flap of book one:

In the city of Solantha, mages rule absolute, with shifters considered second-class citizens and humans something in between. No one outside the mage families are allowed to have magic, and anyone born with it must agree to have it stripped from them to avoid execution.

Sunaya Baine, a shifter-mage hybrid, has managed to keep her unruly magic under wraps for the last twenty-four years. But while chasing down a shifter-hunting serial killer, she accidentally loses control of her magic in front of witnesses, drawing the attention of the dangerous and enigmatic Chief Mage.

Locked up in the Chief Mage’s castle and reduced to little more than a lab rat, Sunaya resists his attempts to analyze and control her at every turn. But she soon realizes that to regain her freedom and catch the killer, she must overcome her hatred of mages and win the most powerful mage of all to her side.

Love

I really love this series. The main character starts out as a bad a$$ female lead and continues to grow through the series. Her support system around her also grows and I honestly loved every adventure and I’m excited for more in the series.

The first 7 were GREAT

I can’t believe I read this entire series rather quickly.
The first 7 books in the series were well written and evenly paced. Did they contain s Loy of fillet and quite a bit of Sunaya whining? Of course, but that’s expected in a series that spans 8 books and two separate dnd complete spin offs gesturing fan favorite characters.
Now....book 8 we really could’ve gone without. It felt like it was a conclusion for everyone and everything at the same time they thru Annia in there at the very end and to be quite honest, I had forgotten about her character leaving to head out during book 7’s earthquake aftermath. You would think wrapping up everyone’s stories and reminding readers that Annia has a story too would be well and good. It really wasn’t. We technically didn’t learn much about Innis as a whole, did we? The trials set up by her grandmother-in-law didn’t add anything to anything either.
Despite it all, I wish we learned what exactly was Trouble’s limitation...

Enjoyable series with additional books now available. Three of those are a spinoff but it appears book 10 is back with sunaya. This is a series about a mage shifter hybrid who speaks her mind and fights for what she feels is right. The story begins with Sunaya accidentally using forbidden magic and being charged with a crime. The high Mage opts to train her instead of sentencing her. There are three primary castes... Humans, mages, shifters. The mages hold most of the power and are blind to see the corruption in their ranks and the unrest with the othe castes. The main character being an outsider due to her mixed heritage and her job as an enforcer offers insight to the High Mage on the problems she sees. She is prone to say what is on her mind regardless of the environment. She has a sense of fairness that drives her. She is loyal and strong. The series has a building romance with a single relationship. The two characters are suppotive and there is no internal drama once they are together.

A perfect collection for fans of urban fantasy! The whole series is packed with action, excitement, twists, and fun.

Sunaya is a powerful lead character who I enjoyed following throughout the books. She has such an exciting personality and I adored her fearless attitude. Iannis is charming and sexy and a perfect foil for her. While there are plenty of side characters I loved, Fenris will always be my favourite.

I loved the severity with which certain issues were dealt with. Though this is a mostly light-hearted and fun adventure, it tackles serious issues and can get pretty dark and grim at times. The war between three race is not simple and clean cut, and Sunaya is strong enough to face it and move for change.

Fans of all urban fantasy books will find tons of enjoyment here. It has everything lovers of the genre will look for, and is an excellent way to boost your mood and mind!

BEST READ EVER!

I have read many books that were great. Terry Brooks is my all time favorite. The Baine Chronicles I would categorize up there with Terry Brooks and Anne McCaffrey (another great writer). I can’t wait to read the other four plus the short two novellas. If you have to want to experience another world, read the Baine Chronicles. You will be very surprised and won’t go wrong if you choose these books. Just please, add the other four on audible. When I work around the house or at our shop, I can still enjoy the book or books as I listen to it.

Addicting

I was absolutely sucked in from the very beginning. There was definitely some nail biting while following Sunaya's adventures and I can't wait to continue to the rest of the books in this series.

Three races trying to live together, but not getting along. Mages think they should rule everyone because of their magic. Shifters who were originally created by mages. And humans who were the beginning of it all. Then there's Sunaya. A half-breed mage shifter who shouldn't even exist. Can she unite them all?

Wonderful Escape

I grabbed this box set excited to disappear into a new world and meet new book friends!!! I feel like I grew with this author as she developed her characters and world building. Minor discrepancies here and there, but overall this was an amazing series to get happily lost in for the last week.
Ready to move on to the next books which I’m excited to see if they’re about some of the side characters like Fenris, Annia & Renly!

Great series!

I wasn't sure if I would enjoy this story but am really glad I started it.
It's refreshing to have a mix of humans, shifters and mages without vampires, elves and trolls for a change.
The character and world building are very well done, although it is easy to find the comparisons to our own.
Looking forward to the rest of the stories and hopefully, a reunion or two. And, of course, a wedding!

Great Series!

I just finished reading books 1-7 of this series & I loved it!!! Can't wait to read the next one. I won't give away any secrets, you'll just have to read them yourself, but I will say I am very pleased with the way book 7 ended.

Love the character development, adventures, suspense, romance, humor & plot twists. I can't wait to read more about the characters that quickly became my favorites.

Loved this series

This world and characters were captivating from the very beginning. I loved how the characters changed in believable ways as the fast paced, intricate plot progressed throughout the series. I devoured these eight books in a matter of days and highly recommend to fans of urban fantasy.

Hole in story

Spoilers ahead....

When Iannis goes missing there are three people in the room who know Baine has a charm linked to his soul that acts as a locator and no one mentions it. Baine is all worried about getting out there to find him...well how about we try the charm asap? Like others by this author but some gaps here

Incredible

I cannot believe no one ever talks about this amazing series. This world is so complex and beautifully written with characters so full of life that you grieve, laugh, and love with them as they do. I'm a little sad to lose sanayas pov but I love fenris and I look forward to hearing his inner thoughts next book. 😍😍

5 yr old having a temper tantrum

It had great reviews??? Got through 5% before calling it quits, she acts like a 5 year old yelling and throwing out unsubstantiated facts about strangers then acting violently and childish then repeat...

Really enjoyable

It took a while to feel empathy for the female lead She's just so belligerent at the start. But as the story progresses and you view the injustice from different perspectives, attitudes start to make more sense.A really good read. It's worth hanging on in there.

WOW!

All I can say is “Awesome,” and “I need more” of the Blaine Chronicles! Two weeks ago I knew nothing of this series other than it existed. I don’t know why I waited so long to read it. The MC has grown so much (developed nicely) from book 1 to book 7. I’m ready to read more.

Engrossing, exciting, apparently never ending.

Got the boxed set (first 7), then found out there are 3 more and likely more on the way. For Naya's sake pay her so she'll keep eriting!

Enjoyed This Saga

Trading these 7 books was quite a journey. To follow Sunaya on her "tags to riches" take was delightful and not what I expected when I started. Strongly recommend them.

Just like reading Thomas hardy. A vast misuse of your time and relaxation time trying to get boast a never ending introduction. The Hundred Years’ War was definitely shorter. Had to abandon this one

WOW!!! I was pulled in from the beginning! Fabulous fantasy world, I absolutely love this series of books, the action starts straight away, and the characters are well defined early on and blossom throughout the series, you can feel the tension building between the main characters and each book always leaves you wanting more. The sub plots plus twists and turns keep you surprised and intrigued. Be warned though once you start reading this series you won’t be able to put the books down so be prepared for some binge reading.
