Charity Styles has been wandering the Pacific aimlessly aboard her beloved sloop, Wind Dancer, and only recently returned to the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. Entering a secluded cove in the Sea of Abaco, in the Bahamas, she runs into an old acquaintance and the woman’s young daughter. The two have a few things in common, not the least of which are four men’s bodies at the bottom of a 600-foot-deep blue hole on Hoffman's Cay. The reunion is fraught with “what ifs.” What if Charity had enjoyed a normal childhood like her friend’s young daughter? What if her mother hadn’t abandoned her as a child? What if her father hadn’t died when she was in college? What if Victor hadn’t been murdered? Just as Charity begins to relax and truly enjoy the companionship of a good friend, disaster strikes. In an instant, she's faced with a terrible choice that will push Charity to her limits. Her action could mean the difference between life and death for both mother and daughter. When Charity’s two worlds collide violently, a drug running operation is exposed, as well as a slick southern lawyer. Will Charity handle things in her usual way?
I'm a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and now, a full time novelist. Between those careers, I've also worked as a deckhand, commercial fisherman, divemaster, taxi driver, construction manager, and truck driver. I live in the Sea Islands, near Beaufort, SC, with my wife and youngest daughter. We also have three grown children, five grand children, three dogs and a whole flock of parakeets. I grew up in Melbourne, FL and have also lived in the Florida Keys and Cozumel, MX.
Wayne did a fair job, and tackled very tough subjects while writing Charity. He correctly understood his limitations, and picked the right person for the job. I would take this opportunity to ask if he could get her to write the bedroom scenes for his books as well. Fad to black, it's getting old. ;)
Kimberli's bedroom scenes said more about Derrick, than 5 pages of deeds... Also added to the Cult book, were the couple meet their end.
I shall be reading your series next, on the strength of your writing.
Definitely not because of the cross over. That was an utter disaster, ridiculous, clumsy effort, that when removed, made the book 40 pages long and unsatisfactory waste of time. Waste of a terrorist submarine plot, poof its gone. Oh well! 3 totally suspicious character's, strange and forced banter.
Wayne has achieved the incredible, keeping a series going and advanced time over 17 years. But that crossover was the worst, utterly meaningless and a waste of 60 pages of a new Armstrong Research adventure. Its been 9 months and l'm still upset.
I love all of these books! I can't recommend them enough!! I really, really enjoyed Mr Stinett's books. I had read all of the adventures of Jesse and Charity that I could find. I hoped all that was happening was just a sabbatical or maybe more writings that weren't done yet. I'm so pleased to find that I was right! Now I just finished both a Jesse book AND a Charity book on kindle! I just went right through them and, of course, I want lots more, right no. It just doesn't work that way! After I finished both of these books plus another Jesse book that I had somehow missed, I read a preview of his next book. Once again, I can hardly wait! I highly recommend that everyone read all of Stinette's books as soon as possible. I also recommend that you read them in order. Honestly, they are excellent any way you read them, but I prefer them in the order in which they have been written.
As time matches on, we all experience new and different feelings, attitudes, and changes within. Both physically and emotionally. We have a chance to experience that with Charity. Her personal awareness of another side of her that blooms into a better , more vulnerable person. If your not willing to allow this person to grow, read something else. But, a very well written book that I truly enjoyed.
All the familiar intrigue and action, but a different Charity. In fact, Charity no longer behaves like Charity, or like Charity with empathy. What happened to all of Charity's backstory and experiences that caused her to be who she is? This is totally out of character when Samantha is around. Having empathy for Samantha does not mean that Charity should allow her to run crazy, risking their lives etc.
The story wasn’t bad, but for me, it had several problems. The first was Derrick and his cohort, who were just too dumb to be believable. It also didn’t help that the author turned the emotions up to eleven, making Savannah a total liability. However my biggest problem was the way the new author had decided to ’upgrade’ Charity, which meant she didn’t feel like the same ‘Charity’ as in the previous four books.
I've read ALL of Wayne Stinnett's books and have enjoyed every one. To go out on a limb and seek out a co-writer was selfless and brilliant. I'm not sure this book would not have been as good without Kim's input, but it certainly made Charity seem more real and human. Thank You and keep up the great writing!
One of the best things a writer who develops a series of books can ever do is let their characters grow and evolve. Wayne Stinnett is a master at letting his characters do just that. Co-writing with Kimberli promises future growth for Charity. Good move, Wayne Stinnett.
I loved Charity Style Saga & I re-read these ebooks every year! I owned 1-5 novels and #6 is pre-order & will automatically download into my kindle next month. Each novels have lots of justified killings, suspense with twists. My only complaint on this novel so short for the price.
I have become a fan of the Charity Styles books. I love this strong woman character who meets out justice to the really bad guys by generally totally kicking their ass or killing them. For me, this book was a let down. Although it was good that she helped rescue a kidnapped little girl, it was pretty much totally lacking in action.
When this book started I was very disappointed or maybe I still am. I wanted this book to tell the story of the Pacific taking the two girls home. There must have been an adventure along the way. I hope Wayne will reconsidered. But having Flo kidnapped was truly scary and this has changed Charity again. Excellent
Another excellent Charity novel. It brings Charity, Samantha and Flo together in a twists and turns adventure that further develops Charity's character and opens the door to a Samantha-Jesse reconciliation. Read it in one sitting...waiting for Book 5.
This is the first book in this series that I have read. The action is fast and the story line quite interesting. Strong, independent female lead character that has a very soft spot for her friends. Very well written.
I have read all of the Jessie McDermott and Charity series, and I do not like the changes in these characters. Unfortunately I think they must have been buried at sea.
This was a good story but I could tell Wayne didn’t have much input as ,Charity has grown some and softened around the edges , but then we can’t all be hard asses all our life 😁
I have read all the Wayne Stinnett books. They do what they do because of their moral and intestinal fortitude. To much crying, we know they have a conscience. In the famous quote by Tom Hanks "We don't cry in baseball "

One of the best in the series. I read it cover to cover in 2 days. The characters are so real and the story line is believable. In today’s world relationships, kindness and goodness still exist.
The book was okay but Not up to the previous Charity books. It seemed as if the storyline changed to attract a larger women readership and increase sales but at the expense of losing male readers. Moving towards political correctness?
I loved this story, the authors wrote collaboratively to bring out a different side to Charity. Her relationship with Savannah and Flo and her determination to rescue the young girl showed she can use her skills in a different way.
As with the rest of the series, it is so well written that you feel like you are there. You are the characters in the story to the end. You feel the emotional connection with the characters. Bravo. Greatjob. Can't wait to start the next one.
Giving Charity a chance to find emotions she had long buried was a brilliant turn. Anyone facing issues where you've shut off feelings would appreciate Charity's journey. Loved this new side of her and her ability to stay on task.
KU borrow. This one just didn't do it for me. There wasn't the action, twists and turns and the interesting characters that I've come to expect from Stinnett. Yes, Charity saved the day, but it was a little lackluster.
Started it at bedtime and could not put it down! Really nice to see Charity be happy and to get to know Savannah and Florence better. An unbeatable trip of strong women. Well done Kimberli and Wayne!!!
Way below the Stinnett standard and a sad way to phase Charity Styles out of the team. This is really a matinee movie plot for some needy girls Club group. I will not follow the Charity books any further if this Kimberli person is writhing them.
Anyone would love the McDermitt series. It’s a mystery with so little cursing. I would love to meet Jessie. At 80 years of age, I’m sure he would merely pat me on the head. Keep writing. I have the final book in the series pre-ordered and can hardly wait.
Enjoy his writing style in both adventure series. He brings both series and characters into the story line. Will get next one. Wish they were on audible as earlier books were.
Busy time for all in this one drugs keep snapping more twists than ever as in the end those that tried never got what they wanted and woten the protector dog got his charges back...ciao from Bobbie Anne Anna and I ....
I always enjoy reading about Charity and her adventures and this book was great! I especially liked the way it Wayne Stinnett brought out her emotional side.
I wasn't sure if I would like changes in Charity brought about by a different author's input. Kimberli has won me over! It's a good story, well worth reading.
