"I never imagined the choices I made would lead to this--to the very end of all things."
The conflict between the tziganes and the alchemists has turned into war. Led by Damara, the alchemists are intent on destroying the enclave once and for all ... and they'll summon hell itself in order to commit genocide.
But what's unleashed isn't tamable, nor is it able to be stopped. To save the people she loves, Mirella must team up the enemies she despises the most--and bind her soul to the man willing to do anything to protect her.
Time's up for Mirella. It's either survival or extinction.
The final book in the incredible Fire Heart Chronicles, Juliana Haygert weaves an amazing urban fantasy of magic, monsters, loss, and love. Battle alongside Mirella one last time in this paranormal romance adventure that'll have you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

While Juliana Haygert dreams of being Wonder Woman, Buffy, or a blood elf shadow priest, she settles for the less exciting—but equally gratifying—life of a wife, mother, and author. She resides in North Carolina and spends her days writing about kick-ass heroines and the heroes who drive them crazy.

I still had some hope left. Maybe, maybe it won't be so bad? Unfortunately. I never thought it is so easy to destroy characters. It pained me to read it. So many good characters became pitiful and uninteresting. When it comes to story telling, it seems that the author every now and then thought of something new and decided to jump right into it even though it made zero sense. New creatures, new vilains, new enemies, new fights. Interesting ideas, very bad writing.
War Maiden Juliana Haygert This Final Book goes out with perfection, and an ending I really didn't see coming. Damara, the Old Heart Maiden, and her Alchemist's mount an attack at the Enclave forcing them to abandon and run with what they could carry or lose more lives than they already had. Some were not able to leave, and the survivors set up a temporary camp far removed from their home.
Meanwhile, Mirella and Kane follow the pull of an unusually strong Heart Flower Call that both of them felt, and they followed it to an exciting end. I won't spoil beyond that, but Juliana, ("having read it twice now,") ended the Heart Maiden Series the only way that could satisfy the reader... Exciting, on the edge, and you're left saying "yes that's right!" If you've read the other Heart Maiden Books, this is a must read so you can rejoice at the Finis or Finial..and smile at the new beginning!
“Time's up for Mirella. It's either survival or extinction.” Juliana Haygert is an enormously talented author and this is amply demonstrated in how she brings everything to a head in War Maiden, the 6th and final book in her amazing The Fire Heart Chronicles. This is urban fantasy at its best, a resounding finale that ties everything up in a superbly exciting and wonderfully written fashion. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely going to miss this series.
It's time the final battle will be faught between Tziganes and those vile Alchemists. There have been loses and betrayals how will it all end. Will Damara have her twisted vengeance or will Mirella who has gone threw so much beat her enemies and have everything she has ever wanted. There will be and attack on the Enclave more will be lost a new Heart Flower will emerge. I dont want to reveal anymore but just to say i have enjoyed reading this series but sometimes it left me wanting to scream No Not Again! Cant wait to see what else Juliana Haygert creats next. I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.
Like the earlier stories, Mirella almost never gets a break. Things might be changing. Includes mildly erotic scenes. Many heart wrenching events. But other heart warming ones as well. I enjoyed it.
I received a copy of this book as a gift. This is my honest review.
Absolutely loved this story from Juliana Haygert. Mirella is such a strong character. Kept me guessing until the very end. Loved every word Recommend to all.
Wow! Most epic book in the series and Juliana saved the best for last! Merilla.....Heart Maiden, warrior and a woman lost. Throughout her loss and heartache, Merilla has proven that she has what it takes! In this final book, be prepared for a wave of shock, heartbreak, awe and disbelief! I couldn't put it down, it was that badass!!!
Brilliant conclusion to a wonderful magical fantasy adventure. This was once again an intense book with the occasional adult content. Lots of action and changes in the plot that i honesty didn’t see coming. It great getting to the end of a series and feeling happy content thoughts, especially when you have shared the characters sometimes arduous journey and it finally pays off in a totally unexpected way. First class storytelling by Juliana.
An amazing ending to an amazing series! What can I say... I am sad that this series has come to an end, but so happy the way it all ended. I have loved this story from the beginning and even til the end. I highly recommend this series as a must read! The characters are awesome and kickass. This story will always be one of my favorites!
So happy Cora used her power in this book. Finally! I literally ugly cried when the hero died. I was not happy about that because I was hoping wishing praying there could possibly be a spin off of him finding true love!! But it's your story not mine :( I'd read anything related to this characters. I encourage you to keep it going in some way. On to another of your series! Thank you

I actually really enjoyed this book. A perfect end to the series.
It's nice that the ending wasn't rushed like it usually is with long chronicles. It had a very nice flow. Significantly less grammatical and structure mistakes so I'm very pleased with this.
2.5 stars. This series gave me whiplash. The author changed most characters status, even the heroin couldn't decide if she was good or evil half the time. Interesting concept, but just felt annoyed with the writing/storyline throughout most of it. Audio: Voice was appropriate for the main character and she did a decent job in varying her tone for the many characters presented.
so at the moment I am having a love hate relationship with Juliana. I love her work but she has trampled my heart and I do believe I am utterly ruined. don t miss out on this great series.
Throughout this story, there was trials, fights, deaths, missing people, alot of magical spells & heartache. The ending was finished off with a hea! Thanks Juliana for another great series!!
Fantastic series just finished all six books. Full of drama, romance, danger, and intrigue. Highly recommended. Author did a great job from start to finish.
New author for me. 🤓 I saw the first book of the series on Facebook and was instantly hooked. Heart Seeker introduced a new hidden world. Loved this series. I will read more by this author.
Demara, alchemists, and revenants, oh my. Demara, alchemists, and revenants, oh my. The time has come. The council has been handled, a new source of power has been discovered, enemies become allies, and now love will have its chance to save them all. There has been so much loss. It’s time to end the battle.
It’s over. Mirella never became the heroine I hoped for. Artan had a moment of redemption. Ellie never lived up to the title of best friend. Theron and Ramon’s characters became afterthoughts when they should have had starring roles. The same with the heart animals. I am disappointed. This series had so many great figures but they were all underutilized. The Romani and Tzigane culture was watered down. We never got the history of the alchemists or fully explored the differences between the different masked groups. We know very little about revenants. We know there’s a powerful, albeit crazy forest protector witch but is she the only protector? Is there one in the desert, for water? The story arc was good but the writing was superficial. Maybe it’s only for juvenile readers, although I usually enjoy books for every age range. I doubt I will read this author again.
It has come to the time when the final battle is inevitable. With the latest twist of fate and danger greater than any before, unlikely alliances have to form to survive, even though the cost is really high. So much death, so much grief, so much pain, so much loss. And in the middle hope and love, and forgiveness. Change has indeed come, not only in the tzigane community, but also very much in the characters, forming bonds stronger than ever. I enjoyed the finale and am glad that Mirella finally found life she would love to live.
The final book in this incredible series. If you're looking for a great story to read, do yourself a favor and pick up this series asap. So much action, drama, intriguing and so beautifully written.
La storia è carina, non ci sono grossi colpi di scena ma ti porta a leggere 6 libri perciò complimenti allo stile dell’autrice, scorrevole e non troppo ripetitivo.
In this final book in the series, Juliana is taking Mirella on yet another stressful adventure. We go from incident to incident, and Mirella faces her biggest challenges. I found this book to be the most exciting one of the series. The plot twists are there and gave the story a different ending than I had expected, but only for the better. With completing this book and thereby the series, I can only say that I recommend this series to any paranormal, romance lover that enjoys books with suspense, action, and plot twists.
