You can’t escape guilt. It lives in your bones and pulses in your blood, waiting for just the right moment to expose your sins. J.R. Hudson was the golden boy of Timber Falls. Born into privilege as the mayor’s son, he was the envied quarterback on the high school football team with big dreams and aspirations. Along with his teammates and best friends, Ethan Young and Caleb Weston, the trio ruled senior year at Timber Falls High and the small Washington town they lived in. And then one day they vanished. Now the town is in a desperate attempt to solve the mysterious disappearance of these strong, dynamic young men. Searching for answers dredges up dark secrets and haunting revelations, revealing the grim truth—that maybe these boys weren’t as perfect as they seemed. Author Set in the mid-1990s, before cellphones and social media was present, this book reminds us that when someone went missing, they left no trace. The boys are high school teens, though due to graphic scenes and mature content, this book is recommended for 18+
I loved this book! I have read Christa (C.E.) Weisman's other books, Pearl and In the Stars, and I and was so excited to hear she was coming out with a new release. This, by far, is my favorite. I was in high school in the Pacific NW during the late 90s and I thought Weisman did a really great job of recreating the vibe of the era. I certainly remember guys who were just like J.R., Caleb and Ethan. The author seems to have a knack for nailing the way teenage males act! The rest of the characters were just as well-drawn and the small town Washington setting lent a dreamy/ eerie undercurrent to the story. I tore through this book- the mystery was twisty enough to keep me guessing and I loved the build-up to the big reveal of what really happened to the missing boys. I can't wait to see what Weisman comes up with in the future, she seems to get better and better with each story!
Picked this book on a whim....and I'm glad i did! I love the suspense and the pace of the story. I thought I had all the answers....but I didn't. Lol. If you want a page turner suspense/crime story that won't leave you with a book hangover, then I suggest this one. :)
The ending was totally amazing. This is a good summer read for anyone that likes mysteries. I'm looking forward to reading another book by Christ's Weisman.
In a small town, football and the stars were kings. But, these boys had problems. The leader, was full of rage. He did what he wanted, to anyone. The other two, were followers. There was a party, that changed the lives of the boys family, and the Sheriff's family also. The, ending was a surprise!
I got into this book immediately, it grabbed me from page one. Three high school seniors all stars in the football field, with dreams of playing for a good college team , their future looked bright. Their families were fraught with tension and were all unhappy, adding to their own uncertain feelings. One night tore them apart and nothing was the same after that, and then they disappeared. The searchers searched , the families were afraid and then they were found. One person knew how they died but he kept his secret. I figured out who it was, will you?
Someone Knows Something Kindle Edition by Christa Weisman
A thriller/ mystery where three teenage boys go missing. It is set in a time before everyone carried cell phones and were immersed in social media. If someone wanted to disappear, it was a lot easier than it is now.
The story grabs the reader and holds them until the very end. I will admit that the twists made me think hard, but it spun in the direction I thought it would.
JR, Caleb and Ethan are high school football stars with their entire lives ahead of them. One night of partying drastically changes the lives of four teens in Timber Falls forever. The entire town is turned upside down when JR, Caleb and Ethan disappear the night the football game where a college scout was watching the stars tank the game. I found someone knows something to be a quick and easy read. The characters were well written and likable.
It is really a 6*. Three high school seniors all stars in the football field, with dreams of playing for a good college team, then one night tore them apart and nothing was the same after that, and then they disappeared. The searchers searched , the families were afraid and then they were found. And what an ending.
Really a quick read because of all the twists and turns. I have never been a fan of writers who use ( days before ) like two weeks before. But I see how it puts events in order. Enjoyed the read very much.
Okay, I am not a fan of flashbacks. The exception is this one, where the plot is defined by what happened before. This one had some twists and a surprise ending that I did not see coming. Enjoyed this one a lot.
I love an author who can write a great story without padding the pages. This was an easy read because it keeps the reader constantly engaged. Could not predict what was coming in the next chapter, much less in the end!
