This human thought she found the prefect job. All her bills paid, a salary, and dental to boot! Not to forget that her bosses were literally to die for.
Piper quickly learned that not everything in the House of Durand was as it seemed and somethings should have been kept hidden.
Now thrust into the world of vampires, Piper must navigate the bloodied water while holding onto her heart and her humanity.
With surprises around every corner will Piper and her dangerously tempting masters make it through it all unscathed?
Erin Bedford is an otaku, recovering coffee addict, and Legend of Zelda fanatic. Her brain is so full of stories that need to be told that she must get them out or explode into a million screaming chibis. Obsessed with fairy tales and bad boys, she hasn’t found a story she can’t twist to match her deviant mind full of innuendos, snarky humor, and dream guys.
On the outside, she’s a work from home mom and bookbinger. One the inside, she’s a thirteen-year-old boy screaming to get out and tell you the pervy joke they found online. Until then, when she’s not writing, Erin is devouring as many books as possible on her quest to have the biggest book gut of all time. She’s written over thirty books, ranging from paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and even scifi romance.
Also, third person is really weird when writing about yourself. Just putting that out there.
Here’s a polished and engaging version of your review:
I’m not going to lie—this book frustrated the hell out of me at times. How many times can you almost hook up with one person only to end up with someone else entirely? Seriously, it’s so annoying! (Okay, I might be biased, but still.)
That said, I really did enjoy this book. I loved that we got a bit more interaction with Marcus, who barely had a line in the first book—it was great to see him more involved. The book ended on a cliffhanger, but it’s clearly setting up some serious tension for the next one. Unfortunately, I don’t think it’ll be a lot of the sexual kind of tension this time around, but we will see.
Still, I’m absolutely loving this series and will definitely be continuing!
What’s a girl to do when all six vampire bosses want her to bond with them? There’s good reason to bond because a cruel masochistic vampire named Valentine wants Piper for his very own. Bonding with one of her bosses sounds so much better than what Valentine has in store for her. But which one? A surprise visit from her parents causes Piper to panic but she should’ve known better. Her vampires plan human rather well and stick up for her when her parents attack her. Suddenly, the vampires and Piper are summoned to visit the vampires’ sire. Time has run out for Piper and she must be bonded or else Valentine will surely take her captive and work his will on her in the most painful way possible. Who will Piper choose?
This picks up right after book one leaves off. Piper is the heroine and once again, lets us live in her vibrant fantasies. The conflict swirling in her about which one to choose is well-plotted and comes across honestly. I mean, I don’t know who I’d choose. The scenes when Piper gets her monthly was an interesting twist I didn’t see coming. Poor Rayne. Poor Antoine. Poor Drake. Poor sexy vampires. Lol!
So, this is supposed to be a reverse harem but at the end of the book, it’s only reverse harem in Piper’s dreams. I’m hoping it will come in a later book. Fingers crossed.
If you’re looking for a steamy, seductive vampire romance with plenty of snarky dialogue, pick up Wanted by the Vampires. It does have a cliff-hanger ending but I didn’t mind. The next book comes out in a few weeks.
SO glad I kept reading these books! This series is perfect for someone looking for a different twist to paranormal romance. These complicated relationships will keep you up reading through the night. The main character Piper finds herself employed as the maid for SIX 🤤GORGEOUS vampires but she also has a dangerous admirer. While reading you’ll start to wonder if Piper will developed true feelings for one or all of her employers? Throw in some funny mishaps and you got yourself a great new series to keep you entertained. Again I gave the book 4stars because of typos and the parent scene felt like something was missing. I thought a twist should’ve been added to that part of the story. Impatiently waiting for book3!
Receiving gifts from the creepy vampire Valentine has put Piper on edge. She believes that Master Durands will protect her from any harm to come - even from emotional harm from her parents. However, who will stop the Durands? But does Piper really want them to control their attraction towards her?
Trigger Warning~ blood, explicit content, and a history of negligent parents.
Piper continues to be clumsy and clueless about the vampires' attraction and protectiveness towards her. She has a bad temper along with her smart mouth, unintentionally calling for trouble.
I like the story pacing so far. It is fun to read them teasing and flirting with each other - except for Darren, Marcus, and Antoine. Some parts were pretty hilarious, the way Piper unknowingly tempts them with her thoughts and, uh, bodily functions. There was not as much action as I would have liked, but I enjoyed it so far.
Also, Piper's relationship with her parents was finally explained. The author skillfully expressed the complexity of a family, especially ones like Piper's. She loves her parents, but her parents love her only for what she can give them. It is heartbreaking because it is not just fiction. There are many families like this, and I know many of us can relate to it.
Though the story is mostly in Piper's point of view, with her sassy personality displayed wittily in first person, it has the guys' perspective too.
I am fully invested in the story, in the series, and cannot wait to see what happens next. If you like a why choose, vampire romance with a sassy heroine and infuriatingly likeable heroes, then do read the series. It is not a standalone, so you would have to start from the first book - Indebted to the Vampires.
Things are heating up with Piper and her Vampires. Piper has kissed two of the men, but now the others are becoming more friendly. They are all falling for her so when her parents show up the men protect her against her devious scheming parents. But they have been called to go to meet their sire and Valentine has been stalking Piper. He as orchestrated it so that Piper has to go to their sire also, so to keep her safe she has to bond with one of the men. But with six men she’s attracted to whom will she choose? Her choice was surprising. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really enjoyed the second book and look forward to the next. I hope we will continue to learn more about the brothers themselves.
The problem i did have with this book was in the editing. I can usually overlook a few errors, but as he book went on, it began to bother me more. Most noticeably, there are several times when it states five vampire brothers in the house, however there are 6. This was very confusing.
This book is amazing... I love the characters on how they care for Piper. In book book 1 Piper Billingsly applied to be a maid for a distinguished family.. little did she know it was a family of Vampires of whom have special gifts. After cleaning up after them she is eventually told what her bosses are. If you are wondering what these special gifts are.. you need to read about Piper and her family of Vampires

The premise was great. I enjoyed the story line. The thing that kept pulling me out of the story was the multitude of errors in the writing. Homonyms are hard, but the countless number of them kept knocking me out of the story. As a writer myself, I have used brackets to jot down stuff when writing my draft when I perhaps didn’t have the time or desire to find the correct word or terminology. The idea is to go back and replace the filler word with the proper word (such as femoral ;) artery instead of just leaving the bracket there).
Easily corrected errors… not sure if I’ll continue on to book 3 on error count alone. We shall see.
This is the second book in the House of Durand series and let me say, the wait was so worth it. We get to watch Piper as she deals with her ever growing need for her bosses and to top it off her parents show up to cause trouble. I really can not wait to see what is in store for the next book and how Valentine handles things.
This is a great follow up story and carries on from the first book! I loved the first book and this one is every bit as good. Filled with romance and humour, Piper is back and so is her vampires and I have to admit this had me laughing so hard in places there were tears! Love the storyline, love the characters and the development of their relationship and I can’t wait to read what happens next!
Wow this boxset gets so hot you may need a cold shower I absolutely could not get enough of this. I was hooked from the first page great writing job, bravo loved it and if anyone is looking some steamy wonderful reads then add this boxset to your list you will not be disappointed I was not I loved it

I liked that this was told from multiple points of view. You get to know each of the guys better. Which I like. However this could use a proofreader as I noticed several issues such as missing words that couldn’t be overlooked
—>>> Being a maid at the Durand mansion, Piper Billings had her place. She cleans and tries not to break things, and the vampire brothers have their routine down pretty pat, by now. As one of the two humans employed, Piper comes in contact with other vampires, and there just happens to be one in particular named Valentine who seems quiet fixated on Piper, even after an offer to purchase her was turned down. Add to that an impending visit to head-of-the-household Antoine Durand’s sire, which will bring Piper in direct contact with Valentine, the sire’s new favorite son, as one of the surprises that will affect her life just around the corner. This story will continue in the next installment.
This is book two of the House of Durand series and continues to follow the story of Piper, a human who has found her perfect job as a maid for six vampires, not that she knew they were actually vampires when she took the job! She gets a good salary, no rent or pay, all her bills and medical covered. The six vampires call each other brothers, having split from their evil sire at great cost, and now living together in relative ease. They are all very good looking and she is sexually attracted to a number of them, but learnt early on, that they could hear everything she did, even in the privacy of her own bedroom, whilst they were in the basement! The six Durands are Antoine, Marcus, Rayne, Wynn and twins Drake and Allister. Antoine is the oldest and never seems to show any emotions, but also has full control over the other brothers, whilst even they can’t read him most of the time. He works a lot at running their various businesses, spending little time relaxing, or partying, like his younger brothers like to do. Piper now knows all about the private parties the brothers hold at the house every so often, where humans come to donate and party with the men. Darren, the butler and bonded human to Antoine, is the only one who is usually around during these.
In the last book, their sire’s second in command Valentine, came to their home with a female vampire Theresa, and took quite a fancy to Piper, who was told to attend and dressed in an odd outfit. When Valentine found she hadn’t been claimed by the brothers, he tried to bite her. Since then, he has deluged Piper with bouquets of flowers every day, with ever increasingly creepy notes attached. She hasn’t told anyone and only Darren knows about it so far. Valentine has set his eyes on her and according to the brothers, once he sets his eyes on someone, he won’t give up. Her ignoring him, is only feeding his attraction and want for her, so the danger is mounting for her. Darren tries to persuade her to tell Antoine, but she doesn’t want to bother him. As a bit of fun in the story, we get to see the vampire brother’s reactions when Piper has a very heavy period, unlike in the previous couple of months of her job there so far. It drives the brothers mad with bloodlust and a couple of them find it really difficult to be anywhere around her and almost attack her. She is told to isolate herself in her room and not to come out until she has finished her monthly’s! Darren has to bring her all her meals and when she tries to sneak out, after becoming too bored, but it almost ends in another dire situation.
At the same time, the brothers get a request from their sire, to attend his home, with Piper being specifically asked to attend. This will mean great danger to Piper, unless she agrees to bind herself to one of the brothers. But even then, Antoine believes that Valentine will still try to make her his, or kill her, just to drain her. Their sire is too old and powerful to be overcome, and dangerous to go against in any way. They all have their physical and mental scars from having to do things they didn’t want to, under his command. Their sire, Boris, made all of them apart from Rayne, who was changed by Antoine, but suffered the most at the twisted sire Boris’ hands. Thankfully, Boris does not have any special powers, unlike each of the brothers, but he is dangerous and extremely strong. Valentine has replaced Antoine as his right hand man, and is almost as twisted and dangerous as Boris. The story ends as they arrive at their sire’s home and with Piper somewhat protected by being bound to Antoine. Some nice fun bits in this one, but also some serious issues with Valentine and her parents added to the mix. Still some sexy scenes going on, as expected with these sexy vampire brothers, with Piper finally going a bit further with her favourite ones. I can’t wait to see what happens at their week-long visit to Boris and interactions with Valentine and Theresa. The brothers will do all they can to keep Piper safe, but what that may mean, could be quite a surprise. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
This book was a lot shorter than the first and there was a few inconsistencies, typos, and Dynamics that irritated me to no end. She was suppose to be the only one fired but in this one said they company went under and the pet she had to give up was Marcus the cat not a dog. That's annoying when you're reading a series and the author can't keep little facts straight. I don't like or really understand why she suddenly interacts with the guys differently after they reveal that she needs to be binded, allister starts talking more when he could have been doing that from the beginning seeing as his gift doesn't seem to affect her that much. I was really rooting for rayne but petty shit kept getting in the way and when she chose Antoine to do the binding it just felt wrong. Her reasons were weak and he keeps his feelings hidden so it makes for a frustrating read. I don't like where it ended either but I hope the next book is longer with fewer errors and a lot more happy endings for rayne.
Favorite lines: “Like what? Changing into bats?” My eyes lit up, and I wiggled in my seat. “Oh, can they poof into smoke like Dracula?”
"Just tell me that it wasn't something the little human isn’t going to bitch about to me tomorrow?"
"It is not the clothing choice, but the fact is that the less clothing you wear, the more we can scent your blood, and the artery in your inner thigh is most fragrant of them all."
Instead of rushing off, she straightened her back and flipped me off. "That's not my problem either." Piper then stomped out of the office and slammed the door behind her.
Allister banged on the island, and I jumped in place as he pointed an accusatory finger at his twin. "I knew you cheated!"
Crossing her arms over her chest, Piper popped one hip out. "I don't know. Do I? You're the mind reader." Fuck off, you pervy dick.
I glared menacingly down at my uterus. "It's not my fault I'm not pregnant. Stop growling at me."
"Did you just... growl at me?" I eyed him suspiciously, cocking my head to the side as I tried to decipher what could be wrong.
My traitorous vagina sure would have been on board for whatever it was he wanted to do. "Piper! Fuck. Please stop."
Which was Darren's way of saying get the fuck out of the kitchen and get to work you wanton hussy. Okay, so that last part was me, but still, I could read between the lines.
"Oh, yes. Don't want our precious maid to know what despicable deviants we are."
I guess he trusted me to keep my word, a horrible decision on his part really.
"Mark my words, have you they will, and then they won't want to let you go."
So, you can take your condescending attitude and shove it up your ass where the rest of your personality lives."
Except for this one, this little human female who glared at me like I was the scum beneath her foot and I should be the one so lucky to speak to her, let alone have her as my employee.
"Maybe you can help our master pry the stick out of his ass. He seems to have gotten one lodged up there somewhere."
"But it is hard to enjoy the company of such subpar women when we have such a goddess here at home."
"This had all been some elaborate game to get me big and fat so you guys can eat me."
“Really?” I lifted my brows and stared at her. "We're not paying you to sleep with us or even feed us. Just to clean our house, and, let’s be frank, you don't even do that very well."
"And when Piper was living in her car," Darren asked with a hint of animosity, "where were you then?"
"Some parents should not have been,"
"Good, then they are no longer your family," Marcus replied curtly. I stared up at him in confusion. "Now, you are our family. We can throw them out."
"And how do you think that would have gone over with Piper? Oh, yes, Piper, we have a lovely vintage from your parents. Now, please, open those delicious legs of yours and let me stick my cock in you."
"So, you were listening?" “Fervently."
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Did I need to read this straight after book 1? Yes. Did I need to stay up till 3am? Also yes.
The parents can go die in a car crash as far as I care; also, waiting a whole two books for that scene at the end was pure torture ffs.
Favourite quote: Sometimes I wish I'd been born to different parents. Better ones. Ones that wouldn't try to make me into something I'm not.""No." His sharp words made me frown. "Different parents mean a different you, and you are is quite remarkable."
Notes: - Piper's cheeks turned an interesting color of pink, and she ducked her head before giggling. "I couldn't sleep. I was looking for something to read." She held up the books in her hands, and my eyes finally dipped below her face. (me rn)
Funny moments: - "Well, maybe a hit or two on the head would make you a better person.” He scowled and stood to his feet. “God knows your personality sucks as it is." - "Language," Antoine warned from his desk. We were vampires, and all he cared about was if we were cursing. What a joke. - "Do we need to have another discussion about the declaration for someone to 'bite you,' or is this your way of telling us you would like to be on tonight's menu?" (the shirt scene haha) - "No," I snapped before she could open the door. "Don't. Don't open the door. I don't know if... Damn... Rayne was right. Please forget I was here." I spun on my heels and disappeared down the hall before her door could open. The scent increased behind me, but I gritted my teeth and purposely put one foot in front of the other. When I slammed the basement door behind me, I took deep, cleansing, shuddering breaths. "I told you so." Rayne smirked up at me from the bottom of the stairs. "Hard to resist, isn't she?" "Fuck off," I snapped and shoved passed him. I closed myself in the bathroom and ignored the laughter coming from Rayne, Drake, and now apparently Allister. - "Why, thank you, I'm glad I'm not so repulsive for you."
Plot notes: - "Leave me alone," I growled. "Gladly," he leaned in close as if to tell me a secret, "but I want to make clear that Antoine doesn't just pay your salary. We all do. You aren't his maid. You're ours. So, I have as much a reason to torture you as the others." - "To keep Piper safe from Valentine and our mercurial sire, I suggest we do a little more than a claiming this time." "What do you suggest?" Antoine arched a brow, clearly interested in what Wynn was talking about. A sudden image was shoved into my mind before I was ready for it, one of Wynn and Piper lying on a bed. They were nude, of course, and he had his mouth wrapped around her neck as he plunged into her with both fangs and dick. "Geez, fuck, Wynn." I shook my head as I slapped the side of it. "Warn a guy before you start fucking someone in your mind. Shit."
Smut notes: - "Do not wear those shorts around my brothers,” I warned her. “They do not have the restraint I do when seeing your lovely legs in such a provocative fashion." . . . Since her back was to me, I let a small smile grace my lips. "It is not the clothing choice, but the fact is that the less clothing you wear, the more we can scent your blood, and the artery in your inner thigh is most fragrant of them all."I could see the blush rising up the back of her neck at my words, and it almost had me out of my seat and going to her. However, I curled my fingers into my hands, letting the pain my nails caused cool my need. - "You think I'm sexy, huh?" A dimple flashed in his cheek as he waggled his brows in an exaggerated way. I threw my hands up in defeat. "If you're sexy, then your brother is too." I pointed my thumb back at Allister. Drake shrugged and pursed his pouty lips. "That's okay. I don't mind sharing." - "I don't need to read your thoughts to know you liked that kiss." - My fangs ached. My head moved from side to side as my nose searched out and inhaled every single delectable morsel it could. The clothing in my hand dropped to the floor without a thought, and my feet were racing through the dining room and through the kitchen, following the trail of where Piper had been last. Darren called out to me on my way through, but I ignored him. I raced up the stairs and found myself in front of Piper's bedroom. - "Miss Billings." My voice held a firm authority I used with my brothers as I waited for her to follow my instructions. "Do not make me repeat myself." - As I stopped before her, I reached a hand out and cupped the side of her face. Her eyes widened slightly, and her heart rate kicked up a notch. Arousal and the sweet tang of her blood permeated the air, and it took everything I had not to turn her around and bend her over my desk right then and there. "Antoine?" she murmured back, almost as if she weren't sure of herself or my intentions.
After Valentine's visit, Piper's refusal to follow orders and keep her mouth shut things seem to have gone back to normal. Piper does her work, breaks the occasional object, fantasizes about the guys (her favorites mostly), and mouths off when the moment/situation suits her. While the last book was steamy things do get a bit steamier with this one so get ready! Wanted by the Vampires picks up where book one leaves off which I really like. You get the feeling that there is tension between everyone as Valentine isn't giving up in expressing his interest in Piper. He knows she's not bonded, claimed or being bitten by the guys so he's intent on trying to claim her for himself. Thankfully Piper has enough sense from her first encounter to know that this is not something she wants. Too bad she's not willing to take responsibility for running her mouth when she should have just bit her tongue. I like that we get more of the guys in this book. It keeps things engaging and then them being summoned adds to the drama and tension. Tension climbs when Piper's period makes an appearance. Of course, things go haywire, but what's a girl to do when Mother Nature decides that you need a major blow when it comes to that time of the month? While we do get some action with this book, for those who are hoping for more...sorry. Not yet. Still a major tease of a slow burn, but at least we're getting somewhere. There are some inconsistencies in this story, but I'm sure that they have been addressed and caught by now. My only real issue with this book is Piper herself. Either she's overreacting to a certain situation or she's acting like a teenager. No, I'm not talking about being horny. I'm talking about her attitude and level of snark. For me, she comes off more teenager than a grown woman. Then in a certain scene when Wynn apologizes to HER for her getting hurt behind her being nosey...I'm sorry but I gave that scene major side eye. I get that Wynn knows she's hot for him, but for him to apologize for her being...essentially dumb enough to be standing behind a soundproof door trying to be nosey...she got what she deserved. I am rating this book 4.5 out of 5 stars. I'm eager for more to get going between these characters and for the reverse harem aspect to come together, but for now, I am enjoying the series and am looking forward to more. I just hope that in the next book that Piper matures a bit because for me, she acts a bit too childish too often. If you've enjoyed this series to this point grab this book and dive in. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Okay so I’m not sure how I feel. A little whipped around and confused I guess. I did enjoy story line. Piper’s parents are horrible people and it’s great that she didn’t tune out like them. I was even like they couldn’t be that bad but you know, they are so put that nail in that coffin.
And then there is Rayne. He goes from being agitated by Piper to loving her. Umm that’s confusing since they have had the best interactions so I don’t know how that developed. And then there’s Marcus. I feel like he cares for Piper but not in the same way as anyone else. And then Antoine is the broody older brother sending out mixed signals and I’m like dude you like her get it together. But on the flip side understand why he is being stand-off ish.
The twins are... funny but they do care for Piper immensely although they are holding their cards close to their chest. A little flirt here a little flirt there. Nothing too serious. And then there is Wynn. He has always been upfront about his attraction for Piper. Now he I could understand saying he loves her. He has been team Piper since day one.
And lastly Darren he’s not a vamp but he does have sway. I like him though. He is caring and even though Piper breaks a lot he still sticks his neck out for her and has her back. But I’m still kind of not sure how I feel about the whole dynamics the story. Like I said I guess I’m just mainly confused about which direction the story is going to go in. I just I feel like it is worth it by the end of the story.
“Wanted by the Vampires” is the second installment on “House of Durant’” by Erin Bedford, a paranormal series that focuses on the relationship between a human servant in a house full of vampires.
Piper wished for work, any kind of work at the beginning of the series and very true to fantasy rules, she got a job: as a maid/gouvernante in the House of Durant, and as Piper was in dire need of a job, and moreover she has a personality of her own, she took the job and went through the motions. In the meantime, Piper has accommodated herself to the house rules and the whims of her bosses, and as there is six of them it has taken a great deal of accommodation, the fact that they all are literally drop-dead-gorgeous does not always help. But keeping to her job during day and to herself at the night, makes things work. Only Valentine (the Durant’s sire) keeps being a pain in her “derrière”, thus maybe bonding with one of the boys could take the care of the problems, if she could only decide which one.
Despite the reverse harem genre, the series plays with the theme and presents a very amusing plot, with a slow burn feel, that for the most part takes place in Piper own mind, thus, despite the title, which I am not fond of this is a very good constructed story, with a female MC that, regardless of being ‘trapped’ in a house full of ‘monsters’, can (and does) stand her ground and manages to get best out of a not really so bad situation, and becoming part of the somehow dysfunctional Durant family
I loved that this Book picked up where the other ended. That’s an absolute favorite of mine when reading a series of books because I feel like there’s no time wasted in between the storyline, if that makes sense!
I’m a huge fan of vampire romances and really I’m enjoying this one! I particularly enjoyed reading more from the perspectives of the different brothers rather than majority of Piper.
Obviously love reading Pipers perspective but it was really nice to get a more rounded view of the rest of the main characters.
Where in the first book it was very much an introduction to the characters in the world and everything that was going on from an introductory perspective, this one definitely brought on more of a romantic focus.
Of course there was a story line that was running parallel to that but I felt like the romance aspect was definitely just as prominent and just as important as whatever the storyline and plots were spacing out to be, meaning they were both intertwined with one another, and I loved that!
After a slow burn of almost two complete books, we finally got some sauce! I feel like from here on out it’s going to be a rather large part but of course, I’m not complaining 😂
We’ve been left with a bit of a cliffhanger which is only just made me want to dive into the third book more!
I’m finding the writing style of Erin Bedford to be really easy to read and the pace of it is quite enjoyable as well. Excited for number 3!
This entire book takes place over the course of a week... and there are time skips. Quite genuinely, only one big thing happens and it's in the last two chapters--AND it was talked about the whole book. [By the boys, NOT by Piper, who YOU THINK would be considering this for the whole book but she isn't.] The other thing that was talked about the whole book, will only happen in the next book. This book is almost three hundred pages long and it felt like 50 pages because NOTHING HAPPENED.
There were more than a few times while reading this when I went "WHY EVEN MENTION THIS" because it either came to nothing or it was backtracked later. There were also a few things that felt like they needed answers but never got any.
HOWEVER, all that aside... Why the blueballing? Genuinely, why? I was into it at the beginning but halfway through I genuinely thought after EVERY scene "you're taking the piss now." Constantly interrupted OR character very out-of-character changing their minds halfway through.
Genuinely quite irritated with this book but I like the boys enough to keep reading (but let's be real, Antoine is quite obviously the best). I thought Piper was fun in the first book but in this book... I don't know she's becoming a bit dumb and bland.
I don't know. I hope this gets better as we move forward.
Taking off right where book one ended, we follow Piper in her adventures of living in a household of vampires, fulfilling her duties of a maid in her very own clumsy manner, and constantly dreaming sexy fantasies about her bosses. All six of them. Not that the Durands are immune to her either. Yet now she is in a very precarious situation. The sire has summoned the vampires, and they must oblige. Only now they are supposed to take Piper with them, and no one has any doubts who is behind the decision and what his intentions are. Entertaining and easy to read story, developing fast and written very well. I had some issues at first to connect with the characters when I started reading the series, especially with Piper who was flat and uninteresting for me and I wanted to smack her over the head instead of listening to her ramblings at first. Now, I don't have any of these issues. I mean, sometimes I still experience the temptation for a good facepalm, but I like watching her actions much more. Also, rotating the POV of the characters and enabling the reader to step into the mind of multiple MCs makes the book interesting, twisting, and creates a complex picture. I liked it a lot.
POV: multiple HUMOR: yes! F BOMBS: yes CLIFFHANGER: yes NEW AUTHOR FOR ME: no
This is book 2 in the series and these books must be read in order.
The first book had me hooked, and this one is just as entertaining. We get a closer glimpse into a few more brothers and their feelings for their human maid, Piper.
1 mortal female living with 6 vampires dealing with unexpected visitors, her period, a plane trip, a job offer, and picking which vampire to be bound to, all while fighting their attraction. All six Durands and the manservant, Darren, are quite taken with Piper. This slow burn has a few steamy scenes and a brief m/m scene.
The one thing that consistently confused me was that the book kept saying "all five Durand brothers"... 5? There are 6: Antoine, Marcus, Drake, Allister, Wynn, and Rayne. ARC version had some typos/grammar issues, and this story ends on a cliffhanger, but still looking forward to reading the next book!

I like the writing and don't mind Piper but her final choice is frustrating as she's built up the entire book to understanding and having more with one brother and then expects him to understand when she chooses to bond to someone else. Which tbh felt like a weird choice given her previous conversation with Darren about his relationship with that master.
This would have been better if it wasn't a harem. For the first book the Harem makes sense but as weird as it is to say but everyone except Rayne, Whynn and Drake ( based on audiobook) seem to mostly care about Piper as a friend or a toy. Most of the spiced scenes aren't even with Piper. They are just Darren Quickies or mentions of someone's hard on. It's just references to the guys dick.
This book and the first one should have been one book and it sucks that the author backtracks on a lot of the progress that Piper makes with the guys. Marcus goes from wanting to protect her from her parents to not caring and Drake's brother at one point fully reintroduces himself to Piper who acknowledges how quiet he's been. But hasn't regarded him as a stranger.
Piper thought she had the perfect job lined up. But she ended up working for six vampire bosses in the House of Durand. Whether it’s an honor or a bit nerve-wracking, Piper really needs to bond with one of her bosses for her own protection. Bonding will protect her from the men’s sire, a cruel vampire master named Valentine. He would love to get his teeth… uh, hands on her for himself. But she hasn’t chosen which of her six bosses she should bond with! And now her bosses, along with Piper, have been summoned to see Valentine. She’s out of time! If she isn’t bonded by the time they get there, Valentine will take her captive and enjoy her himself in a most unpleasant way. Is she any closer to a decision? Which one will she pick?
