3.5
This story was great. I loved Richard and Nicole, both less experienced but knowing what they want. There’s heartbreak and tragedy in their pasts, but they’re able to lean on each other when it hurts. Circumstances allow them to take one of the tragedies and make it into something beautiful; a flower growing in the dank mud.
The story was lovely and I wish that I had read the book instead of listened to the audio. The gentleman that narrated first sounded a bit drunk, but after chapter three he just sounded monotone. There was no feeling or connection in his words. With the tragedy that hit Nicole, there needed to be emotion in the words and he didn’t execute it well. If I were to base this book off of the audio, it would have been a two, but because I focused on the story, it was worth listening to and became a 3.5 star.
I would encourage you to read the book.
