Kayden has had his eye on Kirra for almost a year. She is the retreat manager on his family’s ranch, and he has known from his first glimpse that she could be the “One”. Unfortunately, the feisty, independent and stubborn woman rejects all of his flirting and attempts to get to know her better. Kayden has decided he wants what his older brother has now, a wife and a future family. Kirra has been hurt by an ex and she is well aware of Kayden’s past playboy ways. When he approaches her at his brother’s wedding to ask for dance, she agrees. While they are dancing, a particularly cutting remark tells Kayden that she is not going to give him a chance. He tells her he won’t bother her any more and leaves her on the dance floor. It takes the meddling by well-meaning and concerned friends to open both their eyes to what is happening. Both are attracted, but have yet to admit to each other that they want something more. Once they both reveal their attraction, things heat up fast. But past hurts and a particularly clingy ex could derail any progress they have made, sending Kirra reeling and leaving Kayden standing alone. This book is short, sweet and sexy. The couple featured are perfect for each other, but they are going have to fight to get their happily ever after. Trust is the issue they must constantly wrestle with and confront.

This is the second book in The Nelson Brothers Series by the wonderfully witty author, Sarah Gai. It actually carries on the the Sparkles series which, if you haven't read them for goodness sake get them NOW! as they are seriously funny and romantic. At Jaxon's wedding [ the first brother in the series] to the feisty Callista, where Kaden is there when the ranch manager, Kirra, 'jumps' out of the cake and it gets damaged. Kirra knows that like Jaxon, Kaden has been a real playboy and she's had her heart hurt by womanising cheats before and so avoids him as much as she can. But there is also Charlene in the the picture who is after a man and has Kaden in her sights and she is determined to win him. This is going to cause problems as he just isn't interested in Charlene. I really liked Kaden. He's just as a nice a person as Jaxon and he cares deeply for Kirra and will do just about anything for her if only she'd give him a chance at love. Kirra is guarding her heart and , whilst she is feisty in so many ways, this is one area where she feels vulnerable and is very cautious which is understandable. Charlene is not a bad person - she's just not who I wanted for Kaden and I hope she gets her man eventually! Well written and so easy to read. This is a real page turner with delightful characters that I feel as if I almost 'know' them [although this book was rather short even for me]. Next up in this series of short romances about the Nelson brothers is Kayden’s story. The book opens at Callista and Jackson's wedding. Kayden reveals his unrequited feelings for retreat manager, Kirra, in his thoughts. In a funny little bit, Kayden suddenly appears when Kirra is getting out the wedding cake, causing it to get damaged. Kirra has been burned in past relationships, so she does her best to tamp down her feelings for Kayden, so much so that he doesn't realize that she has them! Will these two be able to come together? Or will they be unable to get beyond doubt and fears?

This was an extremely short novella. As such, I felt that the development of the romantic relationship happened too fast; the story would have been better served as a longer novel so we could see the budding, but unknown, attraction as well as the issues that held them both back. As in the last book, Jaxson, I enjoyed the humor between the Nelson siblings and the supportive family atmosphere between the brothers and the rest of the family.

While I wished for more of the story, I am still looking forward to Andrew’s romance.

This is a quick read for a lunch hour or when you just need a quick get-away. While this is the second of the series about the Nelson brothers, it really could be a stand-alone.

Kayden Nelson helps out on the family farm. They opened up a retreat and hired Kirra to manage it after she needed to get away from it all. Her fiance cheated on her just weeks before the wedding. She won't go through that again. Kayden is just a womanizing playboy so she doesn't give him the time of day.

This novella was written in a dual POV format. I really like that as I can really get the characters thoughts and reactions in any scene to fully understand them better.

This was basically a clean read. It does portray the characters getting undressed but the scene fades out. It really shouldn't offend anyone but at the same time I wouldn't recommend it to anyone under the age of 18.

Sweet Cowboy Romance/ Second Chances Romance
This is book 2 of the "Nelson Brothers" series
The hero and the heroine have had their eyes on each other for almost a year since she started her position as resort manager on his family's ranch
Can our cowboy hero convince our heartbroken heroine that he wants forever her and heal the damage that an ex done to her
Or will past hurts, our hero's playboy ways and one of exes make our heroine seek romance elsewhere no matter that everyone believes the two of them belong together
I recommend that you start with the first book "Jaxon" and with the "Sparkles Book Club" series where we are introduced to his sister and her best friends

I enjoyed this story and this is a new author for me but after reading the blurb I was interested and planning on grabbing the others as well..So we have well Kayden, hence the name and he has a rep of being a playboy and now that rep is biting him in the butt since he is interested in Kira whom he knew after one look that she was the one for him, but unfortunately for him she wants nothing to do with and also unfortunately for him he has an ex from hell who will not get with the program that he wants nothing to do with her...what to do what to do..

Short Cowboy Romance
This is a cute, novella-length romance. There is lots of mild swearing and some graphic sex. The story is short, predictable and almost boring. This is the second of the series that I have read. I can almost tell you exactly how the next 2 books will go judging by how much book 2 is like book 1. The story is ok as is the plot. I received this ARC book for free from Booksprouts and this is my honest opinion.

Short sweet story. Kaden the 3rd of 4 brothers. He has been falling for Keira for the last year but she barely gives him the time of day.
Keira was hurt by finding her fiance cheating just weeks before their wedding and has no trust in men.

Kayden used to be a lady's man but the last few years he's grown up. The past year all he can think of is Kirra the manager of his family's retreat. Kirra was hurt before and is leery of letting a man in her life. Especially if that someone is Kayden. She's heard about his past. A really good short read. I enjoyed it.

She is so in secure, treated Kayden like a little witch for a year. Suddenly, it is on. Doesn't ask for an explanation after stalker attacks him going to the bathroom. She shows up after ghosting him. I can't understand what he saw in her

This is the second book in the Nelson Brother series and this time we get Kayden and Kirra's story

Kirra is the manager f the ranch resort that the Nelson boys own and Kayden has feeling for her. Kirra has been burnt by love before and has no intention of ever getting involved again but she is attracted to Kayden Kayden is determined to finally get her to notice if he can just ex cape the clutches of Charlene the woman who won't take no for an answer. This is a quick short read that will fill that need for a book when you don't have a great deal of time
