BRYCE (Steele Protectors 3) is the 3rd book in USA Today and Amazon #1 Bestselling Author, Carole Mortimer’s, NEW Contemporary Romantic Suspense series.
Author’s Note: Beware of the very sexy & very alpha Steele brothers. These books are HOT!
When Bella told her family and friends of her career choice they called her a traitor and turned their backs on her, including the brother she adored.
Why?
Because no one in the Zalotti family becomes a cop!
Bella had never wanted any part of the family business, especially as that business was running the Italian mafia in London.
She wasn’t stupid enough to join the force under her real name, but has nevertheless lived in fear of someone discovering exactly who she is and bringing that career to an abrupt end, possibly by putting her in a pine box. But it’s been five years now and she’s still alive, still a cop. Then a few weeks ago she started receiving threats, in letters and spray paint on her car. Out of desperation she calls her brother, the first time they’ve spoken in years, but Matteo denies all knowledge of any threats, and refuses to help her.
Bella met Bryce Steele several weeks ago while guarding his stepsister, Jenna, after she was abducted and beaten. In fact Bryce asked Bella out on a date at the time and then didn’t show up. But Bella has done some research on Bryce since then, and she’s sure, with his ex-special forces background and underworld connections, he’s the one man who can help her discover who’s threatening her and why.
Unfortunately to do that she’ll have to tell him her real name and why she believes these death threats are real.

Despite this being an excellent read, the last third of the story seemed rushed. After Bryce shows up at Bella's house, the bulk of the story happens all in one day information is gathered, Bella's house looks like Grand Central Station, only for everything to be wrapped up that night. Within 2 weeks they get their happy ever after. Sadly series consisting more than three seem like the author is tired and just wants to move on. I REALLY enjoy Ms. Mortimer's work, so was a wee bit disappointed that Bryce's story could have been so much deeper. Expand on their drama, their wedding, their first time together as was their times of foreplay. There were a few glitches in proofreading, no cheating or cliffhanger.
I love the Steele Protectors series. However, this book is a tad disappointing due to being very short, the sex scenes aren't particularly steamy, the characters aren't well developed, the plot isn't well developed and there are a few mistakes that the proof reader, editor should have picked up. All in all it appears that this book was written in haste. Such a shame as it could have been an exciting read.
I was disappointed in this one! It starts out great the first 2/3 is perfect. Then all of the sudden it was like the due date was here and everything as thrown together. A real shame because this could be a great book instead of an okay one. The plot is set and we are introduced to Bella a sexy police officer who also happens to have grown upon in Englands infamous Zalloti mafia family. She has decided to go against her family and become a police officer. Years have gone by and Bella is being threatened. She met Bruce months earlier and he was supposed to call her and never did. We find out why he never called and the two are thrown together as Bryce solves the mystery f who is terrorizing Bella! Well worth the read but wish it had ended better.
I have been reading this author's stuff for a while now, both regency and contemporary, and this maybe one of the best. We get to know a lot about Bryce and Bella in a short amount of time. And they are both adorable. Insta-love, yes, but did you expect anything else? Nice little plot and resolution before the end. We even get to meet the hero of the next installment of this series. An enjoyable couple of hours.
A couple of Carole's books before, when they've been free. I depend on Kindle Unlimited. I read several books a day and can only afford lose priced books or Kindle Unlimited. I really enjoyed this book. There's some mystery and suspense and really not love scenes! If any of all interest you, then Carole Mortimer books are for you.
