All his life, Ryan Walker wanted to be a hero, and help the city like a superhero once saved him. When the three heroes who protect Eros City are taken down, Ryan gets his chance, thanks to a high-tech implant that uses RPG mechanics to unlock hidden powers.
Now that Ryan's become a real-life superhero, he's going to have to face the five powerful supervillains that have taken over his city, but he'll have some sexy superheroines to help him along the way.
Note: This LitRPG story contains strong language, harem elements, and explicit adult situations.
I have no idea why people like this. It's, kinda terrible. The MC is, kind of creepy. Which is funny because the author goes out of his way to tell us he's not. Which just makes him seem all that much more creepy.
As for the rest. The story isn't bad, nor is it good. The MC names himself Paragon but to be honest Captain Millenial might've been a better moniker. Think about a San Francisco Bay Area hipster who's awkward around girls and you've got his personality nailed down.
The girls also run along those lines. As for "harem" or "romance". It's kind of non-existent beyond casual hook-ups. Did I mention the "harem" girls also hook up with a bunch of folks? Yeah, it's that kind of story. Everyone has a lot of sex with everyone, aside from the MC before going super. Doesn't really mesh with "harem aspects".
Did I mention all the antagonists are male, with the villainesses just being in need of saving? They're also all racist, sexists or rapists sometimes all of those at once. Convenient. It allows the MC to take the moral high ground and shame them!
This was okay. Started off well, but the other components of the story fell short. I have mentioned this before that there isn't really an original story left with the harem gamelit/lit rpg world. The basics are all the same. That means the other parts of the story are where the entertainment happen. World building, power gaining, leveling, enjoyable characters, character interactions. Then if there is a harem element, how believable is the relationships. This one started out well with how the MC came into his powers. Some authors neglect this part and I was happy that this author took a little bit of time to flesh this part out. It doesn't take much. The other parts of the story were just mediocre though. The relationships were a little too sudden. The power leveling was somewhat of a joke. MC gains +5 to strength and it didn't seem to change anything about how much he could do. I did like the character interaction between the MC and his best friend. There were a lot of mom jokes that I laughed at but the rest was lacking a little.
Ok, I got about 40-50% into the book, and I couldn't take the MC any more. He has absolutely no character depth, or intelligence. I just couldn't take it anymore, so I'll read something else. I really don't know why this would deserve more than a star.
Kinda cliche and the power scaling didn’t really carry much consistency or explanation. How his implant even improves him wasn’t explained. What resources does it gather to help him grow for instance? Mc is a bit of an altruistic Boy Scout. Kinda got the feeling the author really loves anime and older dc comics with the names of the leagues and characters. I’ll read the next since I’m a KU reader in the hopes more is fleshed out. Mostly because I really want to know what the hell was with the tailor. His stats where higher than every single other character combined and it seemed odd.
Decent story. Finished it. A little rough but with some fun parts.
MC seems To have variable depth Sometimes he has well thought out motivations,Or strong gut reactions that Fit a consistent character. And sometimes fairly shallow. Either way the book was actually fairly entertaining and I think has a good promise as the author gains more experience and settles into the characters more friendly.
Good introduction to this hero series. I was somewhat skeptical about this book but I am glad I read it. Love the characters, especially the MC and his interaction with his girls and the potential plot for the future.
Looking forward to the next book. Though the only thing that I hope is that Dahlia interacts more in the next book.
I hadn't heard of the author before so I was pleasantly surprised to find a great book. It was well balanced in terms of the character development and action. The intimate scenes are tasteful and not overdone. I'm definitely impressed and looking forward to the next book!
The best superhero harem book I’ve read in a long long time. If you like superhero fighting save people and taking a roll it the sheets withe is companions then this is for you. All the characters in the book or well-thought-out, with great character development throughout the book as your porch on the main characters grow in fall in love with one another.
This was cute, fun, and entertaining. LitRPG can be underwhelming and boring, but this was pretty good. The sex was a little gratuitous and skewed towards younger male audience members, but it attracts readers so I won’t condemn it. The villains didn’t feel like a progression of difficulty. That would make sense to me.
I’ve always been a super hero fan so it was nice to read an episode where the good guy gets the girl and saves the day! This story had just enough history weaved in to make it “not totally implausible” and just enough excitement to keep me coming back to it! Nice work!
A classic harem story. Easy women who are in to having other women in there relationship. Cut and past hero for main character. But sex scene’s were ok,little short but still okay. All in all four stars
This was interesting with a good about of character building for the MC. The support characters did get some time but I would like to see more character building for them. Good job otherwise.
This was pretty good. The writing was well done, and there were no editing issues. The characters are pretty good. They feel a little shallow, but not too bad. Overall, it was a fun read and I look forward to more.
This book was freakin' hilarious raunchy goofy & outta control. I definitely have to keep reading the series. Yes, it's cheesy. Yes it's sexist and full of badly timed sex and blowjobs but still. 😂😂😂 Pizza delivery nerds need love too. Geez.
Pretty typical fare, the action sequences were kind of “hand wavey”. The spicy bits were okay, I liked that they got together in both powered and unpowered forms.
