Page turning thriller by a talented author I had not previously read. Everything works here, the exotic Mediterranean locals, sharply drawn characters, back stories, fast moving plot to the eventual confrontation with enforcers of an International Human Trafficking organization. Lucas Martel, a veteran of the French Foreign Legion, seeks vengeance on the people that kidnapped his young sister Eliza and subsequently destroyed his family. .....Lots of former American Special Forces type books in the Kindle universe can be somewhat derivative. The "Mallorca Vendetta" is a noteworthy exception.

A Legionnaire on the hunt

Lucas Martell has served several terms in the French Foreign Legion. He has seen just about every form of violence that is present in the hell holes of the Earth. He is only 29 years old, and has been “loaned” to a mercenary group on a vaguely defined mission. What takes place during this assignment will awaken in him a memory of an event that is twelve years in his past, and continues to haunt him. The day his little sister was seized by human traffickers, and he had failed to save her.

Thrillers peopled by special operations warriors of the SAS, Delta Force, US Navy SEALS, and Marine Recon are common. Those who have actually served in these organizations are true warriors. But, too many books that are shallow portrayals of "special forces" have done them a disservice.

A series featuring a man hardened by 12 years in the French Foreign Legion is a breath of fresh air for those of us who are always on the hunt for the newest and the best action novels available.

William Jack Stephens has traveled to some of world’s more dangerous environments, and he knows a few people who have found themselves on the sharp end of violence in some of them. He is a skilled writer who takes the time to get things “right”. And he can make a reader hunger for the next instalment.

A very tight, well written thriller. The subject is human trafficking and one man’s vendetta against those who abducted his young sister. Some predictable actions and some very nice twists.

Apparently the first of a series

Interesting

I found this book to be well written, well timed( finished in 2 and 1/2 hrs) and the characters were if one-demensional at least somewhat interesting. Is it possible for an author to write a thriller\spy\adventure novel were the protagonist is not completely amazing? This would be refreshing. You could possibly name him peter! Or not!!

Well written and exciting

Good read. Some editing needed for incorrect word usage (e.g. new vs knew) but the book still kept my interest. Looking forward to Book 2 with Lucas Martell.

Huge surprise. A really good read. Storyline was not a new idea (think Taken) but the ending was a complete surprise. Enjoyable, fun read and will be looking forward to the follow up.
