- It's Halloween, You Fraidy Mouse! - Merry Christmas, Geronimo!
Two more exciting holiday adventures from the internationally bestselling mouse who always gets the scoop--Geronimo Stilton!
Format: 2 CDs, Unabridged
It's holiday time on Mouse Island! On Halloween, it seemed like everyone was out to get me! My cousin Trap kept pulling scary pranks on me. And then my nephew Benjamin dragged me to a graveyard to do research for a book, where I met a very spooky mouse who tried to lock me up in her coffin! On Christmas, my favorite nephew Benjamin and I were planning to trim the tree and eat lots of delicious holiday Cheesy Chews. But then disaster struck! My mouse hole caught on fire! Holey cheese, this was turning out to be the worst Christmas ever....

I had wanted to listen to a book that would take me on an adventure and see if the book would be suitable for the grandchildren. This book did not disappoint! It was full of metaphors and play on words. The author had such descriptive characters too such as Mrs. Meddlefur, the nosey neighbor, Sparky the fire mouse, and Grandfather William Shortpaws! It was a delight to listen to the narrated book. Bill Lobley did an outstanding job as the narrator.
Audiobook presentation: 3 Stars -- Technically, this was a very competently produced volume, but it makes me feel absolutely spoiled by the first three sets of audiobooks. Bill Lobley simply doesn't compare to Edward Hermann. The voices, particularly Thea's, were considerably less appealing, and most of the charm from those earlier volumes was gone.
It's Halloween, You Fraidy Mouse!: 3.5 Stars -- I seem to like the spooky, Geronimo is uncomfortable type of tale. This one seems to be mostly about introducing Creepella von Cacklefur and her family, as I know that she features in several more books including an offshoot series.
Merry Christmas, Geronimo!: 2 Stars -- These books tend to go all out with things, and the majority of this book is about completely dressing down Geronimo, making him suffer significant physical pain, emotional loss, and loss of money. It's uncomfortable to read or listen to. Yes, by the end of the story his home is essentially restored and it ends on a tender moment, but that doesn't make up for having to sit through the first two thirds. It seems that the stories (and even the parts of the stories) that take place in New Mouse City just don't do it for me.
This was a cute children's audio. I preferred the Christmas story to the Halloween story. The Christmas story was more amusing and I liked the way it ended. But, the Halloween story was cute, too. I liked some of the minor characters in the Halloween story better than the main ones. I would have given this a higher rating, but I don't think the stories would hold the attention of most of my students. They would have lost interest by the halfway mark. I also thought Geronimo was very whiny. There were lots of times I wanted to smack some sense into him. But, as a nostalgic adult, I liked the sweetness of the stories and I liked the other characters enough to tolerate Geronimo's whining.
You can't read it hear you are supposed to share a book you find maybe at popular scan the bar code then find it from the category's then rate it after that share with us!
A hilarious, well read children´s book. It's full of giggles and over-the-top narration makes it fun to listen to. I think we will have to listen to more Geronimo Stilton stories in the future.
