Lyric I thought once I finally fled the strict confines of my old church I’d be free. Safe from the demons masquerading as holy men. Unfortunately, there is just as much evil in the real world as my former home, and the demons that want to destroy me are still on the hunt. My hero comes from the most unlikely of places, a knight in black leather who is ready to lay down his life for my own. My church may have called him a sinner who was leading me into damnation, but to me he is my salvation.
Hustler I’ve spent my life alone, my heart and soul claimed long ago by the Iron Horse MC. My loyalty to them was unquestionable before a certain freckled angel entered my life. Now my devotion to my club is torn between doing what my President wants, and what my woman needs. It kills me that I’m forced to leave her side when she needs me the most, but if I stay with her much longer I’m going to get her killed. Except my absence doesn’t make her any safer. By the time I figure out the true threat comes from within, it’s too late to do anything but pray to a God who turned his back on me long ago for a miracle I don't deserve.
(Exquisite Sin is part 2 of Hustler and Lyric’s story. Exquisite Innocence SHOULD be read first. For your greatest reading enjoyment, I’d suggest you read the series in order, starting with Exquisite Trouble. In the Iron Horse MC series there is a big long story arch that spans the various books)
Ann is Queen of the Castle to her wonderful husband and three sons in the mountains of West Virginia. In her past lives she's been an Import Broker, a Communications Specialist, a US Navy Civilian Contractor, a Bartender/Waitress, and an actor at the Michigan Renaissance Festival. She also spent a summer touring with the Grateful Dead(though she will deny to her children that it ever happened).
From a young age she's been fascinated by myths and fairytales, and the romance that often was the center of the story. As Ann grew older and her hormones kicked in, she discovered trashy romance novels. Great at first, but she soon grew tired of the endless stories with a big wonderful emotional buildup to really short and crappy sex. Never a big fan of purple prose, throbbing spears of fleshy pleasure and wet honey pots make her giggle, she sought out books that gave the sex scenes in the story just as much detail and plot as everything else-without using cringe worthy euphemisms. This led her to the wonderful world of Erotic Romance, and she's never looked back.
Now Ann spends her days trying to tune out cartoons playing in the background to get into her 'sexy space' and has learned to type one handed while soothing a cranky baby.
I absolutely HATE weak women and Lyric was about as weak as they come. She was CONSTANTLY crying and cringing in fear. When things got bad or scary she would cower and pray for God to save her. There was a lot of crying and prayer. It was beyond annoying. At one point she pleads, begs and cries for Hustler to come home to her because she can’t handle the real world without him. I hated the first book with Swan for the same reason. Swan was just so whiny in the first book, although her character improved in the second book. I can’t say the same for Lyric though. She was equally annoying in the 5th book as this one. Also her character just doesn’t make sense. She’s a timid church mouse, but somehow turns into a freak in the sack. She doesn’t even say “shit” in real life, but as soon as she’s in the bedroom she’s yelling all sorts of curse words. Makes no sense.
Unfortunately Swan is in this book a lot and she’s back to being her old annoying self. She has it out for Hustler because he used to be a playboy, despite the fact that her husband was much more of a man-whore than Hustler. She does everything she can to push Lyric together with Vance because she hero worships him. She doesn’t listen to anyone, including Sarah, who tells her that Vance is not a good guy.
It was also frustrating how clueless people were about Vance. The “mystery” of Vance being Chief was not very mysterious. It was painfully obvious from book 2 that Vance was the bad guy but somehow no one was able to see it. In book 4 it said that Sarah and Hustler both suspected Vance of being “Chief” yet somehow no one follows up on those suspicions?! It was beyond dumb! Smoke has his “guys” sweeping the clubhouse for bugs and cameras weekly, but somehow they still end up with cameras in the place. Wouldn’t you think that at some point anyone with even a quarter of a brain would thing “hmmm... I wonder if the traitor is one of those ‘guys’ ”?! They figure out that whoever the traitor is was related to Red and had military experience, but somehow Beach manages to forget “how tight Red used to be with Vance when he was kid”. It honestly made no sense. It was like everyone was brain damaged and couldn’t put two and two together.
The ending was SO anti climatic. What has been building for 6 books, only took a few pages to play out. Iron Horse isn’t even involved in taking out Vance. They arrive and he’s being killed by the Sons of Ragnor and another person is rescuing Lyric. Then all of a sudden, it’s just over with absolutely no explanation and it’s 8 months later.
The “8 months” later is SUPER creepy. Lyric is in a coma but heavily pregnant and married to Hustler, despite being comatose. Then she starts having the baby and for some reason they think that a comatose woman can give birth naturally? But of course she comes to, just as the baby is about to come out and she’s asked to push. It was beyond bizarre.

YEAR & A HALF DELAY ASIDE... I was super excited to dive into the second half of Hustler & Lyric's story! It didn't totally blow me over (because of the unanswered questions it left) but it was enjoyable, even if things/people annoyed me at times.
This book was filled with sex, miscommunications, violence, sex, a kidnapping & more SEX. Hustler & Lyric must've felt the need to make up for the delayed release because they got it on constantly. I wasn't totally into all their kink but was happy that they had such a solid connection with each other.
I've always liked Swan a bit more than Sarah but this time around, I was so #TeamSarah. LOVED how she had Hustler's back & the lengths she went to protect her family, once again.
Not a fan of Hustler being set up with the wh*res & the way Chief used Lyric. I didn't think it was necessary to go through with the sexual abuse/rape plot line, as the drugging them/almost-caught-in-the act scene would've been bad enough. Thinking about it just pisses me the hell off again. And the whole coma thing... ugh.
Very pleased with the grisly death that Chief suffered. I'm not even disappointed that it wasn't meted out by an Iron Horse MC member. I am, however, disappointed that Pastor Middleton wasn't dealt with. I saw the author's little note after the epilogue but was still left unsatisfied with the explanation about it.
Curious to see what comes next in this world but I've learned my lesson & won't be one-clicking any stories that are two-parters, until they're both out!
This book starts off with Lyric living with Hustler. They’re living their best life enjoying wild kinky sex. HOWEVER Beach ordered Hustler to go look for Pastor Middleton since he tried to kill poor lyric. Hustler goes on a wild goose chase only to have Vance step in last moment as some hero for everything. The rest you can read...(; What a great conclusion to this series! This book reminded me how much I love Sarah! She’s so bad ass. Swan is great and all and I feel for her. I’m happy that everyone got their happy ever after.

I absolutely hated how this book ended. Felt like a massive waste of build up and Lyric felt unnecessary. She misses , we don't see , then it and everything is fine?? Pfft.
Exquisite Sin is the sixth book in the Iron Horse MC series, and the second of a two part arc featuring Hustler and Lyric.
There was a looong wait for this book! The previous one was released nearly two years ago and fans have been waiting since then for the conclusion to Hustler and Lyric's love story.
Although the wait was painful (and to my mind unnecessary), Exquisite Sin was well worth it, IMHO.
To begin with, this is a series that should absolutely be read in order.
I loved Exquisite Sin; it is quite possibly my favourite book in this series. There is a good balance of action, love, sex, and world building - although Swan annoyed the heck out of me.
The biggest drawback was the ending of this book. It is very sudden and the book ends with the climactic action scenes. There is almost no let down after this drama. It also means that as a reader, you don't get to ever see Hustler and Lyric together outside of a crisis situation.
(I strongly believe that the 15 years later epilogue at the end doesn't count).
With the release of this novel, author Ann Mayburn announced that it would conclude the Iron Horse MC series. Talk about disappointing, considering she has introduced us to awesome background characters that deserve their own HEAs! Luckily, she has also teased that we will revisit her MC world with different chapters of the Iron Horse MC, so hopefully those characters we love like Sledge and Hulk will just migrate over there.
I guess this means if you prefer your romance to be fully completed, it is an awesome time to start reading this series though! If it is new to you, pick up Exquisite Trouble first.
So this book gets two stars for many reasons. I really loved the entrance to this series and even part two. Now this part was waaaay too rushed. Like I understand the author wanted to tie it all up but she fucked with the last couple by doing that. There story overall was too rushed nothing like the other books in the series. Like she wanted to do the big reveal type of thing and that messed and derailed the story. And the ending was so rushed I read it then had to reread it cause it was a “wait what the fuck happened here” type of moment. Even then no idea what was going through the authors head there. What drew me to this series is how the first book seemed to go on and actually tell a story with the relationship. The second part same deal story with this. Now this part it was rushed which made the book so bad I don’t think the author actually wrote it or even spent any actual time on it. She must have been focused on something else cause ethos book lacked everything this series was about at the beginning and it’s more sad than anything else to see a series like this ranked in the last 100 meters. Like I’ve read worse three part series with a much worse ending (any of the 1 Star books I’ve reviewed) so it wasn’t that bad but it was bad. Cause instead of being enraged at the authors choice of ending this is just disappointing.
I would say more in detail what I didn’t like but I think I’ll leave my review with just disappointment. It had so much potential and it crashed a burned.
Also because of this book I’m changing my ratings for the other books in the series cause I’m disappointed in this series and must have put them on too high a pedestal so let see if they need to be knocked down.
I’ve always liked Hustler and his character. I’m a little sad that I couldn’t remember all that happened in the previous book to pick back up with this one. But I pushed through and enjoyed Lyric and Hustler’s book. A few things I was not a fan of: There is a decent part of the book that Hustler and Lyric are not together. He gets sent off to help Mike. Lyric bothered me with her insecurity. I know why she was though so I tried not to let it bother me much. Swan bothered me with her trust in Vance and how she tried to deter Lyric from Hustler and championed for Vance. Sarah was the one I loved in this book. She seemed to keep it real and was more aware to what was going on. I cannot recall in the previous book if we knew exactly who Chief was but in this book it flat out tells you. He gets what he deserves definitely. I was surprised by how far we jumped ahead towards the end. It was abruptly done. I can’t say it took away from the story but it was definitely sudden. The writing was good. I enjoyed the characters even though some irked me. The storyline was good and keeps you interested.
This is the long awaited conclusion of Hustler and Lyric's story. Lyric is a favorite character of mine, I have been rooting for her to get away from her churches compound since we first met her. She's out now and learning a world that is foreign to her. However she is still in a bit of danger and Hustler is her protector, her guard and the love of her life.
Hustler is an officer of the Iron Horse MC, he really shouldn't be involved with Lyric, but he couldn't resist her. Now he truly belongs to her. With the knowledge that there is a traitor somewhere in their ranks and the pastor of Lyric's church still on the loose, he has to team up with Sarah and Swan's dad Mike to find answers. Unfortunately this will take him from Lyric for an extended amount of time.
Lots of players in this one, that if you've read Ann's other series you will know. The Cordova's make an appearance as does a Bratva member or two.
Of course all the Iron Horse Mc guys are there as are Mike and Mimi. Birdie and Mouse and well just about everyone plays a part as this book closes out a major chapter.
Lots of hold your breath action, white hot melt your kindle heat and plenty of twists and surprises.
Finally an end to Lyric and Hustler's story and the turmoil of the Iron Horse MC. I just loved this series. In this book the love between Hustler and Lyric grows. Lyric who just lost her virginity to Hustler , has led a very sheltered life run by her church. Apparently, though, she loves sex and Hustler is one kinky biker. Always love Ann Mayburn sex scenes. Hustler vows to keep Lyric safe but he is called away and the Chief tries to make his move on Lyric, turning her against Hustler. He gets his in the end. I knew who he was for several books now but it was good to see him come to his end, however I would have preferred the Iron Horse MC to take him out. Greed kills. Lyric almost doesn't get her happy ever after. I have read the first 4 books several times. Lyric isn't as exciting as Sarah and Swan but she has her moments. A great read and I look forward to more stories about the hot men of the Iron Horse MC.
This is a wonderful read. It is the perfect ending to the series but some characters are planned for future books according to the author. I love Swan, Sarah and Lyric, their biker mates and the MC brothers. This one revolves around Lyric and her biker as they work through all the romance angst as well as battle a traitor in their midst. Their current MC woes are solved by the end of this story. However we all know that there is always some new angst popping up in the MC life. Excellent series and an excellent ending to the series. Highly recommend the book and the series. No cheating (although there was an incident caused by a rape drug), no cliffhanger, HEA. Enjoy.
I have loved this series from the very beginning. And im so sad that Exquisite Sin is the last book in the Iron Horse MC series. I hate it when your favorite series ends because you get so invested in the characters and story lines and you feel like you own them like they are an extension of you and your left feeling a sense of loss like someone you love has died. I do look forward to reading more from Ann about the next book series she is writing and to get the answers to some questions that weren't answered in this one. But all in all i loved Lyric and Hustler . And i plane on buying this series in paperback.
Holy moly!! What a fast paced joy ride from beginning to end. It may have started out a little slow, and I have to admit I had to go back and read the previous books in order to catch up, but man did it pick up and grab you by the britches! I couldn't out it down once I came back to it. I understood the plot, the hidden agenda of Chief... Oh man was his end fitting. Hopefully "Pastor Middleton" gets his Karmic desserts too. A definite MUST READ for any fan of The Iron Horse ND Series and a fitting end to it as well.
She runs away & Hustler helps her escape. Love story begins. It makes me happy to see them both find someone trustworthy. Of course they still have the problem at Iron Horse MC Clubhouse! And who's out to bring them down?
Lyric learns a lot about life & the world outside the compound, unfortunately it's really quick! Hustler does his best to teach her slowly.
Enjoy!! I reread the Series because I hadn't read the last book in Lyric & Hustler's story! I enjoyed every word!
Where to begin? I am conflicted with Lyric's character cause she seems extremely clingy but I like how the plot around discovering who Chief is, is centered around Hustler and some key questions are answered through Stewart. Another character that is annoying as fuck is Swan......she is irritating but redeems herself towards the end. But I will leave you with this, Chief gets his punishment from Lyric
I don't give these out often, or lightly. This book & series gets a 5. It's everything to keep u enthralled, appalled, happy, sad, can't put it down. I love how Ann was able to mix mc & mafia into a large dysfunctional family where even when the characters show up as extended family, it all works.
Awesome story I just felt the ending was rushed and wish that more was explained in the end . I feel Vances death was to quick without enough answers. Then in the end Lyric wakes then tada they are together with out talking to each other. Hustler and Lyric are together and then skips ahead 15 years .
Well written, follows on well from previous books. Just found it flat, I have loved the series apart from Lyric’s and Hustler’s story. I just wasn’t excited, didn’t end up a page turner for me. Perhaps it’s me, I loved his character in previous books.
I inhaled this book, just like the previous 5 in this series!! Seriously, my favorite author!! This is a MUST READ, in my humble opinion!! I highly recommend this entire series!!
I really hated it to end loved this series can’t wait for I hope we don’t have to wait to long lyric was my favorite she was so strong over coming everything she has been through happy that her and hustler got there happy ever after
The only thing that wrong with this book is that it ended. I was so happy that hustler and lyric got their happy ending. To me chief got what he deserved. Can’t wait for the next adventure
I couldn’t wait to read this book I have loved this series and this book did not disappoint it had everything you could ask for. I’m just sorry this series is ending but I can’t wait for the new.
Love this book.. A must read lyric and hustler are great to togeather loving and fighting to save there love.. You should read this book and all of her MC book they are wonderful
I did not think I would like this book as much as I did but I fucking loved the characters so much. Lyric and Hustler are so good together and it was awesome to see the characters all interacting. Also, Darius and Hulk are so goddamn adorable. And that last chapter? oof that was so funny and cute
Couldn’t wait for this book and I was not disappointed. Now I can’t wait for the next series.. make sure you read the full series before starting this one
