I'm straight, single, and divorced. Two of those might change. Being accidentally kidnapped could be worse. I get a trip to the Hamptons, a seat at a luxury wedding, and a week with the hottest man I’ve ever laid eyes on. Maybe I ought to fly private more often. Zach’s no snobby millionaire, though. He’s got a good heart, and a body that makes it hard to see straight anymore. At this rate, it won’t be long before we’re tearing into each other like it’s our own honeymoon. He’s a groomsman for his brother, but he needs some support of his own—the kind he can only get behind closed doors. He comes from money, and his family wants things to be perfect. But we don’t have time for perfection, and if we can’t bring this family together, Groomzilla might call the whole thing off. The bouquet’s in the air, but I’m reaching for Zach. Who hasn’t accidentally kidnapped a date every now and then? My brother’s getting married in the Hamptons, and I need a plus-one. But I didn’t expect it to be a stranger who unintentionally boarded the plane. I’m sharing a flight with Barrett, but it feels a lot like a first date. He’s agreed to be my companion, and that means a week of chaotic pre-wedding events. A straight, divorced EMT isn’t the kind of date my family is expecting, but then, I wasn’t expecting him to start sizing me up for more than just a wedding tux. Not only is he charming my relatives, he’s also making me think about jumping for the bouquet. My family of wealthy hoteliers can be a handful. Barrett’s from a different world, but I’m hoping they’ll accept him—if this week doesn’t kill us first. This wedding needs Barrett, and he’s the best man for the job. Note to This is an extra spicy standalone MM romance, heat level 10. Readers can expect several steamy scenes that will leave you breathless.

The author has totally outdone himself with this book. This book is a delightful mashup of a opposites attract and a fish outta water trope. Barrett is a hardworking EMT and he sorta gets trapped on Zach's chartered private jet he is flying home for his brother's wedding on. Barrett agrees to be Zach's plus one for the wedding, but he's concerned that not being filthy rich will make it impossible to fit in with Zach's family. Needless to say, it's a formula for fireworks of both the sexy and explosive kind. The author's writing in this book is so beautifully descriptive that I could very well have been watching a movie. Reading it was like being there. All the characters, MC's and all the rest were well-crafted and felt like real people to me. As with every book I have read by this author the sex is off the scale scorching hot! Zach and Barrett end up doing it just about everywhere around the estate. The amount of sex is just right and it works seamlessly with the rest of the story as Barrett and Zach fall in love. My favorite character is by far Barrett, I have to admit by the end of the book I had a major crush on him... he was just incredible. This quote from the blurb sums it up nicely "This wedding needs Barrett, and he’s the best man for the job." This is my favorite book from this author thus far I can't wait to see what he does next!

I received a free ARC copy of this book form the author and have voluntarily reviewed it.

Dumb - couldn’t finish

Because i read a lot of romance, A lot!!, I have certain expectations. Some might say high standards. This book had a terrible plot. The straight to curious+ storyline isn’t uncommon and one I normally enjoy. This went from 0-100 in 60 seconds flat. Besides sex, most of the book focuses on internal monologues regarding how rich Zach’s family is (for both MCs!). Speaking of which.... Zach speaks (or rather, thinks) so highly of his family, but no one was likable, in my opinion. I think the free spirit sister is supposed to be funny and quirky, but she just sounds privileged and pretentious. The older brother is a VERY pretentious ass. Ugh. Zach is painfully boring.
Zach: “Omg when I was a child, we snuck out to the garden to play games.”
Bennet: laughs “Omg no way. You crazy kids”
STOOOOPID and un-relatable. Total bummer.

I tried so hard to push through, but I just can't. This is basically a whole novel about how much money Zach's family has and them banging a bunch. How quickly Barrett hopped in bed with him didn't seem realistic because there wasn't much of any kind of working through something new to him, just "it clicked what I wanted" on what, day one of meeting each other? After never once finding a guy attractive before?

And EVERY TIME there is a sex scene, Bennett is growling and glaring the whole time. Over and over. Is it angry sex and no one told us? And calling a penis his spear over and over again didn't work for me either.

That said, of course Bennett is enamored with Zach, the sex was one sided half the time. Anyone who gets that many blow jobs without having to do anything to reciprocate is gonna be a fan.

A terrific romp!

Southern born author Jason Collins now lives in New York and as he states ’I've started calling myself a ‘southern New Yorker.’ Jason has nineteen successful novels to his credit so far, covering all aspects of gay relationships. His most recent series dealt with the darker side of romance, so this new DESTINATION WEDDING is a major change in both subject matter and as a new aspect of Jason’s fine talent – writing sophisticated comedy!

The story pairs opposites – straight divorced Barrett and millionaire Zach. They meet on an airplane headed for the Hamptons and a wedding for Zach’s brother when Zach requests Barrett accompany him. That opens the doors for some simply wonderful excursions into the family of Zach and their attitudes and the bonding and ultimate steamy romance between Zach and Barrett. Yes, Jason’s new book retains his penchant for well defined erotica, but it is served with a healthy side dish of humor that makes this one of his most successful novels to date. Well plotted at a fine pace, Jason’s new novel has zing! And he has provided a very fresh look at gay relationships and his writing style grows more secure and sophisticated. He is now on top!

Sweet, and not forced. Enjoyable.

There will be some spoilerish details in this review. This review is by a mostly straight females no adores MM and MMF situations also ;).
I’m going with 4 stars on this review because I didn’t find any bad sections in this book. That being said, I didn’t have a huge draw to the book, no spark ya know? But it was a good read without countless errors in the writing or grammar.
Zach sounded very attractive and down to earth. Comes from a very well to do family. The book begins in Chicago, but takes place mainly in the Hamptons. I enjoyed reading about the location.
Barrett was an unpolished diamond and sounded attractive also. It didn’t come off as he had ever been with a man before, but he was not afraid and did not fight his attraction to Zach, which was extremely pleasant.
They interacted sweet and smoothly with one another. The intimate scenes picked up the heat, but never got overly descriptive, which I actually really like when they do. But they were still good. Enjoyed the sneaky library scene.
I enjoyed how Barrett showed some alpha male qualities.
Would have liked more public displays of affection between them and I would have liked Zach as a top in a scene also.
Wish Barrett would have proposed in the epilogue ish section or before. And had hopes they would move to the Hampton’s to live since they both mentioned on the beach how much they loved the beach and the feel there.
So glad Theo wasn’t mentioned anymore than he already was in this book. Gah, he sounded horrible. There were some odd parts, like Theo for example. Barrett came off like his driver and I guess Theo was in the back seat when the book started out, so why did Barrett act like his driver when they were supposedly friends? And there’s no way they wouldn’t have noticed the plane preparing to take off.
But overall, I enjoyed the read and this was my first by this author. I will try another of his non dark romances.

Keeping up with the Joneses

A pleasantly light romance, with lots of heat and sweet loving scenes, where the drama didn't come from within the relationship or concerns about the relationship itself.

Barrett and Zach meet through an unexpected series of circumstances which leads to Zach unintentionally kidnapping Barrett. A mutual friend, some bad weather, and an easy click with each other lead to this kidnapping that results in Zach asking Barrett to be his plus one for a family wedding week. Though Barrett has always identified as straight the two find they have quite a bit of chemistry and sparks start to fly. In a pleasant turn of events, though Barrett's status as straight is addressed, it is not a source of drama or anxiety. Barrett is very open and recognizes that he is feeling attraction and sexual interest in Zach, regardless of gender or previous declarations. Barrett does not go into it as an experiment or a secret, but as someone seeking out something with a person they are interested in. This in turn allows Zach to be open and enjoy the fling, and indeed question if it is just a fling. Overall their relationship was sweet and easy, a light and fun overture for both of them, with almost a bit of insta-love.

The drama actually came from the family and their own life concerns and relationship drama. It was a reminder that weddings can be stressful, that every relationship had its ups and downs, and that communication is key. Put in the stress shaker of a large family wedding in the semi-public eye of the rich Hamptons, there are difficulties aplenty that show relationships at many stages and working through the problems that come up. It worked very well in the story and gave a great environment for Zach and Barrett both to work together and to see how they worked. A very enjoyable light read!

Surprised Guest!

Zach was thinking his friend was going to flake on him again and he'd be without a plus one for his brother's wedding. But, to his surprise he showed up just under the wire but the man that stepped out of the car wasn't his friend, it was the man of his dreams and the most beautiful man he'd ever seen. Barrett was just giving his friend a ride, but after helping him with his luggage and trying to get him settled their friend fainted. Barrett being an EMT went straight into work mode assessing him friend, deciding the first step was getting him off the plane. Barrett reentered the plane to retrieve his friend's luggage but before he could disembark the plane was taking off. He and Zach was so busy talking they weren't playing attention to the pilot so as a result he was stuck and technically kidnapped. What started as a disaster turned out to be something more and before he knew it Barrett was agreeing to be Zach's plus one at the wedding. That was the beginning of their journey to each other, they were from two different classes of people one rich and the other working class. But the more time they spent together, their differences faded into the background and all they saw was each other and what they could become. These feelings were new for Barrett a straight man or so he thought, but for Zach it was what he didn't know he wanted or thought he'd ever have. The more time they spent together the more their love blossomed. CUTE COUPLE, GREAT READ!!😍😍

This is so hard for me to write. I just feel I don’t have the words to say how much I enjoyed this story. When this author put together this story he did an outstanding job. My problem is there is no major drama. There is no real breakup and reconnecting. There isn’t a death or some accident that takes me to the edge yet I had a real hard time putting this story down. What starts as a mistake with Barrett ending up on the plane with Zack turns into an event of a lifetime. Two characters could not have come from such different places yet fit together like they were made for each other. Not only do they fit but the sex is more than a little hot. Then after meeting they both seem to want long term the same thing. I got the feeling that they were two people who destiny brought together.

The secondary characters bring so much to this story. Zach’s family is so the stereotype rich in the beginning. Barrett’s family is explained as totally down home types. I feel the author did a great job of character development in a small amount of the story. I could just picture these people. When they get together it is amazing how people can just be people. By adding the side story about Terry and Wanda just gave me a laugh. I feel the author went above with this story. It was one that had me feeling ah all the way through. I can’t wait to see what he does next.

Destination Wedding, by Jason Collins is a fun fake boyfriend romance. It has a lot of things I enjoy in addition to the fake boyfriend trope; accidental meeting, wedding antics, entertaining family members, a groomzilla, and more.

I enjoyed this one a lot. The situation of their meeting and arrangement is funny and unique. The attraction is instant and they are quick to act on it. They are two men who are very different from their appearances, providing us with some wonderful, heartfelt moments.

Off to the Hamptons for a family wedding, the area is well described, adding to the fun. Zach and Barrett are men from completely opposite worlds. Watching Barrett's introduction to the land of the elite is certainly entertaining. One thing that stood out to me is Barrett's ability to relate to Zach and others on a human level, despite their extreme differences. Basically, I love Barrett.

The wedding adventures had me laughing, despite the emotion of it. It definitely just kept people on their toes. But, the real humor comes from the easy way Zach and Barrett make up stories together. They are seamless with their improvisation; it's impressive and hysterical.

Destination Wedding it a beautiful tale of acceptance. Accidentally placed together, it seems that fate took over and sent them on their way. Honestly, this is a perfect feel-good romance.

Zach comes from a prominent family. His brother is getting married, and he needs a plus-one to go with him. His unreliable friend (Theo) is supposed to go with him, but as they are supposed to take off, his friend has a panic attack and can't go. Barrett is his friend's ex-brother-in-law and brings him to the airplane. When Barrett goes onto the plane to take Theo's suitcase off, the pilot thinks Barrett is who should go and takes off. With nothing to do until they can land again, Barrett and Zach talk and decide that since he is off from work and has nothing better to do, he will go with Zach to the wedding.

The book takes place over the next week, and the two become very close. There is a hint of love at first sight, and their romance is super quick, but despite coming from different backgrounds, they are immediately comfortable with each other. This is pretty steamy, and the guys are great together.

I loved Barrett! He finds himself in a strange situation and makes the most of it. He really is a laid back guy that just rolls with things. He doesn't spend time worrying about how things should be and just accepts them. He's attracted to Zach but doesn't spend time talking himself out of the feelings he has for the man. He sees all that is wonderful about Zach and grabs on. I liked watching them as they navigate the pretentious crowds and make one another laugh and smile through it all. Zach has grown up with wealth but it doesn't define him. He has a passion to make things better for the planet and those around him. He doesn't fit in with the wealthy elite but understands how to navigate in their midst. I loved that when things seem to be coming apart that both of them jump in to fix it. The sex is spicy but the love between these guys feels real. I loved the ending.

A humorous straight to gay story

Rich boy Zach is going to fly on a private jet to his brother's wedding in the Hamptons. His plus 1 is so paranoid about flying he passes out. So they carry him off the plane. When the Barrett, the driver, and Zach go back onboard, they suddenly realize a few minutes later that they are airborne and cannot go back because of a storm, so Barrett gets a free ride to Zach's parents house. All Zach's family are characters. I love how the bonds and neuroses get displayed. Barrett goes from straight divorcé to gay in about 6 hours - a bit unbelievable. Quite metamorphosis, but he embraces it fully. The way the relationship develops is entertaining and at times funny. I loved the supporting players and laughed out loud at some of the antics.

After this book, Jason is one of my favorite authors.

Sweet story about a straight, divorced EMT who accidentally gets whisked away to the Hamptons to attend a wedding as a “stranger’s” plus one. Zach asks his friend to be his plus one at his brother’s wedding but things happen and a gorgeous stranger ends up joining him instead.

Barrett gets a chance to see how the upper-class live. He also sees an unexpected side of Zach that he is intrigued by.

Zach finds Barrett sexy and quickly, things become physical. The story mostly revolves around Zach introducing Barrett to his family and them trying to get through the wedding while getting to know each other.

Imagine a book without conflict... yes, you would think that's a good thing but no, is not - especially a romance book. This book was wrong for me in so many ways, first, when we meet the two characters while one does express an interest in the other one, Barrett doesn't give a hint of male on male interest. We know he was married to a woman but nothing says he's anything but straight. The book was mostly a description of lavish life, crazy family antics which wasn't even something different from other books and two characters jumping on each others' bones within the first 20% of the book. I was left speechless. There is no conflict, no angst, no incredible declaration of love, no fight against the world. It was bland and no character development or anyone to root for.

This was different from the submission books I've read by Jason Collins but from what I understand, this is going back to his "roots" and I really enjoyed the story and the relationship these two forged under some auspicious circumstances (accidentally kidnapped indeed). There was nothing broken about these men in the least and that was kind of refreshing to read. My only slight issue...is that while I know that love is love (heck I've lived it), there was no confrontation of the fact that this particular relationship was a HUGE departure for Barrett. But otherwise I really did enjoy the story.

Delightful romp filled with humor, great characters and touching moments. Loved the creative idea of how a mistaken flight and agreeing to being a plus one to a wedding could be such a fun read. This was nicely written with well developed characters and a fun story-line.

Two very different men find so much in common as they negotiate the week long destination wedding. The supporting characters are wonderfully done and they play a large role in how the story develops. Zach and Barrett have amazing chemistry and they have so much fun together! i so enjoyed the journey these MC's had to find their HEA.

Highly recommend this fun read.

There were a few great things about this book and a few that I had problems with. I think there was a heck of a lot of suspension of disbelief! Who gets into a stranger’s private jet a just rolls with it? The first person POV’s made some of the descriptions the characters had seem dramatic and a bit off. Would you describe your own hands in that much detail? I don’t know that I would. I did love that the characters had an ease with each other you could see from the get go! And that Barrett was so confident in himself and his background in the face of Hamptons luxury. Overall, I think it was a good 3 star read!

Instant fan! My first Jason Collins book and definitely won't be the last! Mr Collins created and excellent group of characters that make you laugh, catch your breath, laugh again, sigh and make you want to make them your friend. Barrett is a down to earth, go with the flow, let's do this person. Zach, a member of the rich elite is a good man in spite of his money who appreciate his Blessings and wants to give back/help out. Their wedding adventure surrounded by the family makes a delightful trip. Mr Collins did an amazing job describing the location you can almost smell and feel the spot. I can't wait to read more of Mr Collins' books. I received an ARC for a review.

The premise of this book was really good. I love the “friends to lovers” stories and this seemed something kind of unique. It started off that way, but just went a little bland. All the way around. I didn’t really like the fact that Barrett was at this high society wedding and it didn’t really even faze him at all. I would have been a total wreck...And to believe that Zach’s parents would not have had an issue with Barrett - not him as the person, but what he did for a living. And, as I saw in other reviews, there just seemed to be no spark - they just kind of fell together. This wasn’t my favorite story.....

This was so uplifting. Barrett may be straight, but who says he can't enjoy himself at a week long wedding celebration in the Hamptons. Zach has asked Barrett to be his plus one at his brother's wedding so he will have some kind of buffer with his family. Barrett has never seen how "the other half" live and agrees. I loved how the natural progression of things brought them closer and closer. They brought out the best in each other. I loved it. This new novel by this author is fun, hot, steamy, and sexy with characters who although never having met before gelled so well together, it seemed like they had been together for a long time.
Zach and Barrett were opposites with completely different backgrounds but found enough in common to make a mistake and accidental kidnapping into the best thing for both of them.
Plus a guaranteed HEA. This is a good read with lots of heat. Worth reading.

This is such a cute and fun story that I totally enjoyed. Barrett and Zach accidentally find themselves flying off together to Zach's brother's wedding. I love how they navigate their way through all the family and friends and have great time while doing it. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

But....

While I liked this book I am slightly disturbed with Barrett’s reaction to his bisexuality. He was almost dismissive of this. Going from heterosexual to bisexuality or even homosexuality is something a lot of people struggle with and I believe it warrants a bit more reaction.

I will say this is a well written enjoyable bit of fiction and it was a wonderful read in the train home.

I liked the storyline in general. It's a very happy sweet reading. But the author wasted too much time describing background stories that are not relevant to the main one. Zach's internal monologues are hard to swallow! Skipped them all! Too boring. The author gave the impeession that Zach's family was kinda crazy but they are just rich. I didn't get it. I didn't understand why everytime the main characters made love they had the urge to get up and leave. Why couldn't they just stay in bed and enjoy the moment? All seemed too rushed.

This is a feel good romance about Zach, who comes from wealth and privilege and Barrett, an EMT from a blue collar family. This story has little to no angst even though these two men come from very different backgrounds which made it a fast and fun read from beginning to end. Very enjoyable.
