This is a book chock full of hard-won lessons from Mark’s impressive songwriting career. It is short and to the point but if you need something to help encourage and guide you along the path of being a songwriter, this is definitely a must-read!

Favorite Quote: “If you want to do this for life, then treat it with respect and work at it every day. It will reward you beyond measure.”

Having read lots of books about fiction writing, I saw lots of overlaps here. The discussions of the songwriting business were interesting, and I spotted some points that ring true for any creative task that I've undertaken. I may go back to this one a few times over the years for nuggets of wisdom.
